UPDATED: Charlie Sheen made another bizarre public statement this morning, this time on live radio. The Two and a Half Men star, who is undergoing rehab treatment at home, called into the Dan Patrick Show to complain that CBS and Men producer Warner Bros. TV would not allow him to return to work despite, according to him, being ready to do so. “They said ‘You get ready and we’ll get ready’,” he said in the 30-minute interview. “I got ready and went back and nobody was there … I don’t know what to tell ya,” Sheen said, adding that he lost his voice banging on the show’s stage doors. He stressed that the show’s hiatus has been “forced”. He cracked that “at this pace”, Men will return to production in “August 2014″. Sheen later clarified that the show is expected to resume filming on Feb. 28.CBS and WBTV declined comment on a TMZ report that the order for Men is being cut from 24 to 20 episodes. The show has 16 episodes in the can, with the 4 additional ones eyed to shoot on March 4, 11, 18 and 25. That means that the show’s producers won’t try to make up for the current four-week work stoppage. Last year, the 3-week hiatus caused by Sheen’s rehab treatment resulted in the show delivering 22 instead of 24 episodes. It is still unclear how the crew of the show will be compensated for any unproduced episodes. Sheen recently offered to cover a third of the pay if CBS and WBTV pick up the rest.
During the radio interview with Dan Patrick, Sheen insisted he is now “100%” clean and urged CBS and WBTV to take advantage of that. “I heal really quickly but I also unravel pretty quickly,” Sheen said. “So get me right now, guys.” Since his 36-hour bender that ended in a emergency hospital visit followed by a rehab treatment, Sheen has done 2 unfiltered interviews via text messaging, in which he called his detractors “turds.” He also made a surprise visit to a practice of UCLA’s baseball team, telling the guys: “Don’t do crack, drink chocolate milk, and enjoy every moment.”

Without hurting anyone… except putting the hundred or so people who depend on that (really really bad) show to make a living. I do like the show, and he is a funny guy, but it becomes less humorous due to the fact that his character on the show resembles him in real life. He has five children, been divorced due to self-destructive behavior, and he still thinks he is OK! He should do himself a favor, get into intensive rehab and therapy, and disappear from the spotlight for a while. Peter Roth, Chuck Lorre, Les Moonves, Nina Tassler just cancel this show. You’ve made a fortune. Cut your losses. Lorre has other shows. Sheen is not serious about getting sober. He’s bought a one way ticket and the end will not be pretty. He’s making everyone crazy including you. You’ve been amazing. Responsible. If they’re smart they’ll cancel the show in April there’s no need for it to return next year just put it out of its misery and hire the same crew including the writers for a new Chuck Lorre series so they can continue to work in Burbank and earn money on a much better show. Or just bring in Scott Baio to replace Charlie if they do that it could run for two additional years no problem.

Charlie’s wildly successful, his show’s wildly successful and Scott Bsyo couldn’t fit in Charlie’s jockstrap. Why don’t you “kick ‘em while they’re down”, “holier than thou” jealous “blue noses” admit that he not only makes a small fortune, but makes Jon Cryer, young Angus and the rest of the cast, including the studios and CBS a ton of money. That just drives people like you crazy, doesn’t it. I will admit the over-use of cocaine should end. I know what I’m talking about…..and it’s really not that hard……quitting coke, that is.
It just occured to me that Jon Cryer used to have a respectable acting career before all this. What the hell happened?

Charlie Sheen seems to have forgotten that his foray into episodic TV came when he replaced Michael J. Fox on SPIN CITY.
Fox bowed out due to the onset of his Parkinson’s Syndrome. ABC and the producers thought that Sheen would give them a fifth year for syndication. But the ratings went UP and they got a surprise sixth season.
If there was a sitcom god, Sheen would be shown the door. Chuck Lorre and company would come up with a twist for season nine with a new co-star (significantly decreasing above-the-line production costs as well).
And if that direction caught on, they might even get a season 10 out of the old warhorse. Stranger things have happened. TWO AND A HALF MEN has a high enough rating that a 25 percent drop would STILL position it in the top 25.

Yeah, I remember that. Made me mad that they opted out of MJF due to something that was beyong his control and replaced him with someone who was unreliable and an addict.
