UPDATE: Last night’s Saturday Night Live hosted by SNL alum Dana Carvey with musical guest Linkin Park drew a 5.6 household metered-market rating, up 4% from the same telecast last year. It was the second highest-rated SNL this season behind the Jan. 8 telecast, which was boosted by a highly-rated NFL primetime game.
PREVIOUS: Saturday Night Live host Dana Carvey dusted off his trademark Church Lady SNL character last night to opine about “all of the evil shows” on TV: MTV’s controversial teen drama Skins (SportsCenter for pedophiles), Two and a Half Men (One and a Half Men and a Whore Monger) and Jersey Shore (Jersey Whore). Her guests included the 3 Kardashian sisters (the holy trinity of sluts) as well as Justin Bieber who also did a spoof of new movie The Roommate with SNL‘s Andy Samberg. Here are the videos:

Truly horrible show. Cringe fest. They screwed up everything, and they had a treasure trove to worth with. The awfulness of it was astounding.
the president recently repeated a great jfk quote… “ask not what your comedy shows can do for you but what you can do for comedy shows.” so we look forward to learning what IS funny from your contributions to the entertainment industry. let us know when it airs.
Who said comedy needs to be funny ?
i am always of the feeling of if you don’t have anything nice to say keep your mouth shut, haters!
i enjoyed the show. i had some good laughs and it was cool to see an old fav dana carvey & some lovits action. the show is funny. each of us has our opinion on favorite casts. last night for me was a great meld of old and new in the spirit of living, breathing, joyous comedy.
thank you snl.
rock on.
Tim
Oh, come on, curmudgeons…Roommate skit was funny, Beiber was a good straight man, so to speak.
The old skits were funny, and weird with Phil Hartman introducing them…everything else sucked.
So, any critic of a comedy show, must be a comedy writer, as well? That’s idiotic. Dear Lord, there seem to be some grannies (or tweeners) posting in here – wasn’t aware that this is a double-wide, we wuv you, feel-good site.
My point is, it was badly written. No passes for nostalgia.
And, nothing is more lame than screeching “haters”, as if to negate the negative, so to speak…
your cries solidify who you are. you should think twice about speaking when it is less than creative. you are branded. sorry.
but all the best to you! lots of luck in finding the joy of life.
not quite a tweener nor a grannie. perhaps you should stop by my place for a slice of humble pie and tea my sweet?
remember, be happy and you get what you give my friend.
This is the first time in quite a while, that the show had laugh out loud moments. I always love that usually the first comment is how “awful” something was–when, it sounds like they didn’t even watch the show. Oh well, can’t please everyone….but, you can ignore them.
what’s even better is when someone labels something as horrid but stays to watch the whole horrid thing! lol! what wieners.
Thanks to Carvey, SNL was better than usual last night. That’s not saying much, but still . . .
I love how they openly mock the simplified, predictable premise of The Roommate.
I always thought Carvey and Lovitz were great back in the day.
I loved it!
Squee’d w/ joy @ the site of Mike Myers/Wayne, laughed @ the Church Lady crush the Whordashians. Great show!
I’m so tired of the haters spewing their bitterness here because they’re not good enough or enterprising enough to be out there.
Pls haters, let us know where to find your work. If you don’t have any, enjoy your nasty cup of STFU in your basement. QUIETLY.
DANA is a huge tv star. Would love to see him on a series
i loved seeing Dana not only do wayne and garth picking who may win oscars but seeing the church lady give both the jersey shore and the kardashian s a much over do verbal beat down was hilerious. the room mate scetch was comedy gold espically Justin expression when Andy started to get more creepy.
Carvey was hilarious — one of the best skit performers in history, and he’s still got it.
