Eric Roberts is set to star in ABC drama pilot Grace, from writer Krista Vernoff. A dysfunctional family drama set in the world of professional dance, it centers on Michael Grace (Roberts), a famous choreographer who tends to sleep with his dancers and has three daughters with different mothers. A much better dance teacher than he is a father, he is in danger of losing his studio until one of his daughters steps in as studio manager. Mad Men helmer Lesli Linka Glatter is directing the pilot, which has added Flody Suarez as an exec producer, joining Vernoff and Carrie Ann Inaba. Mia Michaels (So You Think You Can Dance?) will do the choreography. ICM-repped Roberts’ series credits include Starz’s Crash and NBC’s Heroes.
Life Unexpected star Britt Robertson is returning to the CW as the lead of drama pilot Secret Circle. Written by Andrew Miller and Kevin Williamson based on the book series from The Vampire Diaries author L.J. Smith, Secret Circle tells the story of a young woman (Robertson) who moves to a new town and discovers that not only is she a witch and part of a secret coven, but she’s also the key that will unlock a centuries-old battle of good versus evil. Robertson, repped by Innovative and Levine Okwu Erickson, is about to start shooting the feature The First Time.
Wilson Bethel (Generation Kill) has joined the CW pilot Hart of Dixie, from writer Leila Gerstein, WBTV and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire. It is a comedic drama centered on Zoe (Rachel Bilson), a young New York City doctor who inherits a medical practice in a small Southern town inhabited by an eclectic and eccentric group of characters. Bethel will play a gorgeous flirty, bad-boy southern fisherman who is neighbors with Zoe, plays in a band and dedicates a song to her. Bethel, co-managed by Ryan Daly and KLWG, recently screentested for the title role in Captain America.

Please tell me that some of the daughter/mothers will be of color and/or different ethinicities. Just don’t want to see another all white family, especially since this premise would allow for diversity.
nah, you’re not a racist. now, had you said you “just don’t want to see another all black family” … then you’d be a racist.
who am I kidding?
Except that there is no possibility of anyone saying that, as there is a dearth of shows with leading black characters, whereas there is, to put it lightly, no shortage of shows with white leading characters. It goes beyond demographic trends, by far. Or is noticing facts “racist” to you?
The only agenda in Hollywood is making money.
Every decision is made because of money.
That’s the only fact that matters.
The character has a black daughter…who has a son.
Krista’s one of the most purely talented writers I’ve had the pleasure to work with… hope this one does well.
Thank you Krista or Krista’s agent.
Really…?
Please don’t let it go to series and have a different dance number every week unless it’s
a dramedy.
What the hell does co-managed mean?
Ryan moved to management last month via agency side. Probably worked out a split with KLWG
co-managed means two people help with the puff pieces so they were able to figure out that being screentested for a role someone else got is relevant.
Grace sounds like it could be a wonderful series and fun to see Eric in this.
Weird it was just announced Wilson Bethel was returning to The Young and the Restless on contract. Eric Roberts is recurring on Y&R as well. Weird yall didn’t mention that lol.
That boy is odd looking. I’ve read Hart of Dixie. Not so good. Too bad, cause I love Josh Schwartz.
Eric Roberts? Really? Is he stable enough to work in series TV?
No. No he’s not.
omg!!! can’t belive you could say something like that about eric roberts. but, your opinion is not important
get a grip!! of course Eric will be awesome as usual. He is a fine actor as well as a wonderful, caring persson
I hope someone casting “Grace” has the great good sense to hire the wonderful Mia Maestro, is who is gorgeous, talented and an extremely gifted dancer.
I love Britt Robertson and will watch Secret Circle if it gets picked up just because of her. I was really hoping she would pop up in one of this year’s new shows once I heard Life Unexpected was ending. This makes my day.
Eric Roberts is a great actor and a million times better actor than his sister.
Damn! Eric’s probably done more projects in one year than baby sis has in like 5.
Does the dude ever sleep??
When Eric Roberts is on screen, I expect nudity and soft-core sex will soon follow. Thanks, HBO.
I too love Britt….LUX was one of my favorite shows and I’m kind of worried that the new show will be one more “vampire” type show…haven’t we had enough of that? But good luck to Britt and I hope the new show does well for her!
Brittany Robertson = the next generation.
I think Eric Roberts is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood! He is such a believeable character actor. Can’t wait to see the new show!
Wow, so excited to see Eric Roberts. I have watched so many movies over the years with him in them. He is a wonderful actor. Abigail Spencer will be a gorgeous addition to the show. I am looking forward to this new show! Can’t wait!
If abc is thinking clearly they will give us “Grace” — what a timely and exciting concept!
No more crime dramas or medical shows!
Let’s see some dancing in a scripted show!!!
GRACE!!!!
