Former SVP alternative development at NBC Jayson Dinsmore has joined CMT as EVP development. He will oversee all development for the channel and manage the network’s development team, based primarily out of CMT’s Santa Monica offices, reporting to CMT president Brian Philips. Dinsmore succeeds Bob Kusbit who recently left to return to producing full-time. Philips called Dinsmore “a production-savvy executive with a deep background in hit reality, (who) enjoys a terrific reputation within the LA community.” Dinsmore exited NBC amidst an executive restructuring in the alternative department a year ago. He spent a decade at the peacock network serving in several capacities, including SVP alternative development and VP alternative programming and development. He oversaw such shows as Deal or No Deal, The Sing-Off, Minute To Win It, The Restaurant and Three Wishes as well as production on a number of specials, including the Golden Globes, the Tournament of Roses and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades, Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants. He was an executive producer on Last Comic Standing and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! On Friday, CMT’s fist original scripted series, sitcom Working Class, debuted to solid 1.2 million viewers.

Kudos, to Jayson. Knew him a bit back NBC. Good guy, pretty smart. Already off to a great start with Working Class. Melissa Peterman is a treasure. He’s making the right moves already. Go, J!
this guy is a fraud and symptomatic of everything that’s wrong with this business
I don’t think he was responsible for The Sing-Off or Minute to Win It, I’m pretty sure he was out the door by the time those happened…but regardless, good for him.
Congrats to Jayson and congrats to CMT. They’ve needed someone who “wanted” to develop and not be a “REDNECK MTV.”
Wow, when the jealous whiners get going in the combox…”fraud?” “symptomatic of everything that wrong, blah, blah, blah. Jayson is smart and talented and a good guy. CMT just had it’s highest rated series ever debut. And he’s already got tons of good reality comedies coming.
Brad Johnson is responsible for everything in the pipeline right now. Nothing on CMT currently is the work of Jayson. A unique hiring to say the least.
first off, jayson is a great guy and man of character and integrity. he wouldn’t have this position if he didn’t deserve. i’ve had the opportunity to receive great advice from this man over the years. from what i’ve read and seen done by his hands and the hands of the groups he was working with…this is a perfect fit for him. congrats again my brother…Zeta Chi is proud.
This man is sexy

This clown is turning CMT into a ghetto joke. I’m sure all the white trash wiggas will love new shows like ‘Texas Women’. Way to go Jayson.
Jason great guy – last min I was able to pitch our program @ NBC even when I was 45mins late…lol he said he likes our show, can you lose the live portion “I said no” regrading that move!
I’ve had tv series on the air spanning 5 decades, worked with lots of Studio Executives, came close on two shows with Jayson while he was at NBC. He is smart, talented, charming and all of the negative comments are obviously either from jealous people or clueless ones. He is a bright guy with a big career ahead of!!!
If you knew Jason like I know Jason, everyone would be proud of his accomplishments. Kudos, and may he be sucessful in all of his endevaors.
