EXCLUSIVE: Fox has handed a late pilot order to Weekends at Bellevue, a medical drama from former ER writer-producer Lisa Zwerling and BermanBraun. The project, centered on a psychiatrist in charge of the weekend shift of Bellevue Hospital psychiatric unit, was originally set up at NBC and UMS earlier this season. After the network recently passed on the script, it was taken to Fox. UMS, which produces Fox’s hit drama House, will stay on as the studio. Weekends at Bellevue is based on Dr. Julie Holland’s memoir about her nine-year stint as the weekend physician in charge of the psychiatric emergency room at the oldest public hospital in the United States whose name has become synonymous with insanity. Zwerling, Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein are executive producing.

Didn’t NBC pass on HOUSE even though it’s from NBC Studios. Hope they didn’t make the same mistake twice.
I know this script: they did.
Yeah, Lisa! Great writer! Great person! Hope this goes all the way!
Please! No more f—–g medical dramas!!!!!!! I beg of you!
Preach on, Bill. Am I the only one listening to you. It’s enough already with the medical, law, and cop dramas. I get it if good writing is good writing, just something new that isn’t lame (ie superheros, the undead of any sort, and lame remakes).
Way to go, Lisa! Great script! YOU GO, GIRL!!!
Has anyone else noticed that everything that Berman, Braun and Stein touch turns out to be absolute crap? It’s true. Every pilot, every show that gets picked up. Comedy and Drama. Their track record is awful.
Lisa is the best. A wonderful person. My only question is do Berman Braun actually do anything? I mean really. They just make a call or two and go on another vacation.
And cue Elia, with another “where’s the Black people” rant in 5, 4, 3…
Would rather see a Weekend at Bernie’s series.
Well, getting a pilot in turnaround from one net to another ain’t exactly a cakewalk…
Hope it’s better than The Cape. Nuff said.
I guess we know what will be paired with House in the Fall then. May be a pretty dandy Monday combo. But FOX has limited slots with X-Factor taking up so much space and of course terra nova.
I love this woman she is so incredibly good at her craft!! But the Bs? I searched for this show, nothing?! Where is it? Certainly not on TV! I got to FOX website they seem to know nothing about the show, like it was all a fake , a lie..someone if you have more info please let know! This woman is brilliant.
