  • I’ve heard the pitch. It’s called POLAR OPPOSITES:

    Loving, macho, adventure loving father (Jackman) seeks to bond with his gay, 8 year old, Glee watching son on a Sub Saharan Safari.

    Things take a turn for the worse when his son is raped and mauled by a Sub Saharan polar bear. This is followed by a New Age family reunion. No one cares about the f*cking polar bear anymore.

• I had heard that Dreamworks was so high on REAL STEEL they were commissioning the sequel already. So much for that if Dreamworks didn’t buy this they must not like REAL STEEL all that much.

• Real Steel looks horrific. It’s going to be a giant bomb. I’m still trying to figure out how it got made in the first place. Nobody wants to see robots fight as boxers.

• What is wrong with Hugh Jackman ? He can pick and choose film roles , and he has access to quality material. Because Jackman is weathy, he can be selective. But, Hugh continues to do everything in his power to ruin his film career – with these lousy action films . My goodness !

  Is he actually concerned about starring in films of quality or creating a body of work that he can be proud of ? Hugh has the talent and unbelievable potential. This guy can do comedy, drama, sing , dance, act on stage ,and host an award show. Most actors can’t do two of those things.

  This is just shameful!. Why does he want a career similar to Sylvester Stallone , Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, or Charles Bronson ? When he can have a career resembling Viggo Mortensen, Josh Brolin, Matt Damon, , or even Leo DiCaprio.

  • I have to agree with you there. I really don’t know what guides some of his choices in the last few years.

    He’s too capable, charismatic and able to be doing the kind of films he’s doing lately.

    He surely can’t need the paychecks.

  • Even though Hugh is doing this movie he is doing what he likes. Which is acting. So what the isn’t like the other actors. He is just doing what he loves. Doing what you love is anything that you either practiced or dreamed of. Hugh Jackman had dreamed about being in movies.

    Everyone needs to do what they love. Whats your favorite thing to do. It can be something that you dreamed about when you were younger or when you thought about it. Your choice.

• I hope it’s about giant fighting robots on a strange island where people get lost in time and space. Hugh should be a mutant with super powers who washes ashore on this strange island. Ben Stiller will play Gilligan.

• Hugh is pursuing a dual career – on film and on the stage. In 2009, he was in a limited engagement on Broadway for a two-hander about rogue cops called A STEADY RAIN. He played a role that is very much against his usual screen portrayals. In 2010, he was supposed to have participated in a reading for a new play about a former newsman called STORIES ABOUT MCALARY, directed by Mike Nichols and there was also some announcement about another theatre option ( a new musical called HOUDINI, with Elfman, Slater, Sorkin nd theatre director Jack O’Brien in the creative team) that he is exploring. Perhaps this is how he wants to achieve artistic fulfilment, by performing in both creative branches.

• Hugh is good in anything he does. Lets wait and see just how bad the movie is before making judgements. This would not be the first nor will it probably be the last time he outshines a bad movie.
