With Lifetime well underway on their movie William & Kate, Hallmark Channel is prepping its own telefilm about the photogenic future royal couple. The cable channel announced it will soon go into production on William & Kate: A Royal Love Story for an August 13 premiere. The Hallmark movie was written by and is executive produced by Emmy-winning producer Linda Yellen, who also exec produced the hugely popular telefilm The Royal Romance of Charles and Diana, about the once-fairytale love story of Prince William’s parents. “While biographical, the film is a love story with an inside look at the nuances of a modern monarchy,” Hallmark’s SVP original programming Barbara Fisher said.
Lifetime’s William & Kate, which stars Nico Evers-Swindell as Prince William and Camilla Luddington as Kate Middleton, is already in production for a premiere targeted around the couple’s Royal Wedding on April 29.

In all honesty, what relevence does the Royal family serve anymore? The Queen can’t make a law anymore, so now what?
relevance? you’re joking…we are talking about US television. Fergodsakes, what relevance does any entertainment on US television have??? It’s ENTERTAINMENT!
It’s fun that’s why it’s relevant. Also, news is depressing and this couple is charming.
Royal Wedding and With Lifetime well underway on their movie William & Kate put it on DVD.
Terribly sorry to interrupt, but regretfully this film lacks a 2nd or 3rd act.
Two comments:
Is it just me or is William getting uglier and balder evry year?
If William’s father is any measure, William’s marriage is doomed.
True.
Is that Smarg or Smug.
Give the guy a break. Trees don’t grow on busy corners and anyway, the Royals aren’t into plastic surgery like America’s wishful equivalent – ‘Actors’ – He’s not trying to keep up appearances, which automatically seems to be a pre-requisite now days to being ‘famous’, not whether someone has character, charm, verbosity, is articulate, gives benevolently….has a sense of humour…dare I go on? Sigh….
What a shame you have to comment at all. The couple haven’t even stepped out the front door together yet!
They can’t compete with Lifetime. And by August, the wedding is old news.
I’m sorry, I can’t get over her non-existent upper lip.
Yes. Kind of hard for her to keep the British infamous stiff upper lip, isn’t it?
Relevancy? We’ve come to expect the Royals to entertian us, and they haven’t been doing a very good job of it lately! So along come William and Kate. We all rush to the kitchen for a cola and popcorn and settle down in front of the TV to see what William and the lovely Kate will do to keep us entertained and amused. Ok, maybe just amused.
Remember, Diane was a hands on mom. William learned many of his values from his mom. His marriage will be a happy one. Kate and William are not mirror images of Charles and Diane
Some of you people are so cruel. What ever happen to respect? Bald is beautiful and sexy. Lucky for Kate! I wish these two young people the best. William has had enough sadness in his life with the loss of his mother. God knows his father is not the best of role models. It is not that great to be in a fish tank and be observed for everything you do. Whatever will be in the movie will be fantasy and not to much reality. So take it as entertainment and so be it.
Hallmark has let me down alot. Ever since Martha arrived. Not such a fan anymore. I’ve been watching more Lifetime so I know I will probably tune in for their movie which will undoubtedly be superior. And I do not need 2 movies anyway. Glad they brought The Waltons back on, though and like Frasier.
