This looks ADORABLE and so funny! Super smart to hit Easter. And James Marsden is so dreamy !
Huuuullo James Marsden! I wish you could act… Although I’ve only seen you in this trailer so what do I know. CUte trailer but I only cracked up once, at the very last line.
It must be difficult being so smart and discerning.
GENIUS.
i love animation! i wanted to smile and feel warm and inspired inside… alas a few moments into the trailer my heart listed and remained askew. Any comedy seems on the dry toast side, reinforcing any thought that an english sounding accent equals desert dry humor.
i unfortunately have lost interest in this film already.
i wish it all the best. ;- )
Wow, I’ve never had the desire to make rabbit soup more than I do after watching this trailer. This looks awful!!! Why James Marsden, why?
The climax of course is David Hasselhoff – you know a movie’s bad when… there are just no words for this.
can russell brand act? If so, he should have.
“Four thousand years of tradition…”
WTF???!!!
I understand there weren’t a lot of hard core theologians involved in the development of this movie, but really? FOUR THOUSAND YEARS?
Please explain to me how the Easter Bunny tradition has been around for four thousand years when the creation of Easter happened 2,011 years ago.
Morons.
Morons made this movie.
Maybe bunny years are longer than human years? A bit like dog years or something….
I agree totally!
Though your math is slightly off. By tradition the Resurrection would have occurred something like 1978 years ago (32-33 AD).
I’m guessing it’s more like a couple of hundred years of bunny related tradition (though the egg as a symbol of Easter of course goes back almost to the beginning).
That line was put in the movie (and in the preview) to signal that there will be no reference to that icky Jesus guy, or those horrible Christians. It may have been intended by the filmmakers to signal to their fellow atheists in Hollyweird that they hate Christians, but it’s also useful for Christians who can decide not to put any money into the pockets of these cretins…
this is what the CHIPMUNKS have wrought
Loved this trailer!
I’m sure the writers of DESPICABLE ME can do no wrong and since this movie is written by them + Brian Lynch (look for him on twitter, he’s really really funny) I’m sure it will be good fun
And JAMES MARSDEN is great as usual!!
You go rent THE 24TH DAY and then you can talk about JAMES MARSDEN and his acting abilities
2011 years ago would be the origin of Christmas. Add 30 years and you get to the resurrection of Jesus and the origin of Christian Easter.
Like most American holidays, Easter is a combination of pagan roots, Christian beliefs/history, and crass (but very yummy) commercialism. The rabbits and eggs represent fertility, and even the name Easter is taken from a German pagan god. The 4000 year gag is a reference to the dawn of civilization, an insightful acknowledgment of the syncretism the Easter Bunny represents.
Please try reading yer bible before you thump it.
