Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios have issued a new trailer for Thor. It plays up the presence of Oscar front runner Natalie Portman, creates a more cohesive context Thor than an earlier teaser. It even gives Chris Hemsworth the opportunity to show off the six-pack. The Kenneth Branagh-directed film opens May 6.

A ‘hot’ mess…
Nobody thinks this is HOT.
speak for urself lame o! ; )
Tim,
You’re never ever, ever, ever allowed to say Hollywood makes crap after uttering those words…
You’re the enabler.
Perhaps someone can develop a series about that… studio interventions before they pull the greenlight?
who’s to say it’s crap? aren’t each of us different with different tastes? thank God the irrefutable answer is yes. Hollywood has all types and to that i celebrate and yes, enable. i also loved & adored black swan & kings speech. or were those both crap too?
variety is the spice of life. enjoy it and don’t rain on our parade. ;- )
thanks.
uhmmmmmm……..RELEASE THE KRAKEN???
I don’t know. It just looks blah. The actor isn’t very compelling. Also, his body is too big for his head. Looks creepy.
And am I the only one who thinks his face looks beat? That is the one thing that you can’t easily change.
Yikes. I think this trailer makes the movie not only look really stupid and derivative, but showing the scene in the diner with ‘Thor’ in a Shakespearean lilt was a mistake… it comes across as a little embarrassing.
Haven’t yet figured out what makes a ‘hot’ trailer ‘hot’ on this site yet.
Sort of looks like about three different movies rolled into one. Calling this trailer cohesive is being generous. Might be a good movie, but plot-wise the trailer for Atlas Shrugged made more sense than this.
what crap is this? what happened to the mythological story?
Yeah, this looks pretty bad. Like ‘Iron Man 2′ bad.
I was thinking more like ‘Daredevil’ or ‘Jonah Hex’ bad.
Another trailer that riffs on the Inception trailer. Talk about lack of imagination
How is this anything like the trailer for “Inception?”
He must be talkng about the music, especially at the end.
He’s talking about the music “riffs”, and he’s right. Also, I work in a studio marketing department and I’ve heard the VP at least once request something to look or sound like the INCEPTION trailers, so the phenomenon is real.
I’ll be there 12:01 AM Opening Night.
12:01 AM opening night at the cinerama dome in 3d
If it’s a hot mess it looks like an incredibly fun hot mess! I love the first part.
Like a lot-definitely will see….
ive been ragging on thor since the first trailer came out. although i still think the movie is prob gonna suck, this trailer is definitely cool and now it will be a rental for me.
It’s a shame WB didn’t buy Marvel, this is embarrassing.
This movie belongs to Marvel/Paramount, not Marvel/Disney. The Disney distribution clause doesn’t take effect until after Captain America.
Hemsworth has the charisma (and talent) of a boulder.
I’m assuming you aren’t a girl. le sigh.
In 2010 Congress enacted The Natalie Portman Must Be In Every Film Made From Now On Act. The rest is history.
WTH ?! I mean WTH !? This truly saddens me, I was genuinely hoping the best for this project. They pick these “actors” who had a major/minor part in a tent pole like Star Trek and make them leads in big budget movie. This is razzle dazzle minus everything else. Just because the actor is over 6′ 3″ and gets in bar fights with his bogen brother, doesn’t mean he should play Thor. At least he’s not an obnoxious twat life Alex Pettyfile the 30 yr old trying to pass himself off at 20
Alex was born in 1990. He is 20 years old.
Best of the Thor trailers released thus far, though that might be faint praise. Thor’s accent is kind of odd, wavering between Aussie/Brit. Some of the battle scenes look good though. Mjolnir comes off best imo.
I think it’s HOT.
There r so many shit talkers on forums. hiding behind fake names and profiles and feeling there only strength in ambiguity. Weak are they! LOL!
I am happy there is a sway from skinny dude super heros to a more masculine man of ancient warrior myth. he’s straight from the works of michelangelo in stature. to that bravo. we shall see if his heart backs up his vision when the flick comes out. Bring it!
Tim DAX real man. ;- )
Real men don’t use Lol or smiley faces.
real men aint afraid of trivial shit my friend. ;- ) and LOL! :- )
I will see this because I trust Marvel and they’ve had a great run.
But I would expect this trailer to be for “Percy Jackson and the Olympians Part 2″
Everyone involved in this should start working on their Razzy acceptance speech now.
This looks really bad, like Green Lantern bad, Daredevil bad. Branagh was a weird choice to direct. Captain America looks okay, but overall, this looks like a bad year for these kind of movies…
This is going to be huge.
“Hot” means brand new as in “just out of the oven”.
I wished they had spent the entire movie on Asgard like how they kept Captain America in WW2. Asgard (if you’ve read the comic) is a world like Lord of the Rings. That is a gold mine of box office glory.
I’m crossing my fingers that Shakespearean Kenneth Branagh made an in depth movie full of drama and emotion.
In any case, this looks like a big summer action movie. Anyone ragging on it obviously does not have a clue what the general public likes. Just saying.
it was supposed to be set between Midgard and Asgard.
i guess, until a clueless exec/ producer decided to set in contemporary small american town, with natalie portman as a love interest.
this doesn’t look like a big summer action movie, this looks like a Catwoman type of superhero movie.
any fans of the comic will hate it.
The set-up mirrors TRANSFORMERS people – they are trying to set this up as an action franchise. Alien(s) from another planet come to Earth and wreak havoc to the familiar – nothing new here.
The producers are banking on the TF fans to like the story set-up and come out in droves.
This trailer looks awesome. Wish they had shown more of what is going on up on Asgard with Hopkins’ character and Sif, etc. Maybe on the next trailer. Can’t wait to see this movie tho
Be afraid when the trailer fails to entice you into seeing the movie. It either means the filmmakers/video editors/ad agency who worked on the trailer we too dumb to capture the essence/interest of the movie, or it means that there were none in the first place.
Unfortunately, you can’t tell until you see the movie. LOL
So, wait until your friend tell you it’s worth it, or word of mouth starts doing its magic (or bashing whichever will be the case).
