Three episodes into original, short-based comedy series Portlandia, IFC has renewed for a second season. The network has picked up 10 half-hour episodes of the series created, written by and starring Fred Armisen (SNL) and Portland-native Carrie Brownstein for a January 2012 premiere. IFC only released cumed audience for the first 3 episodes: 1.1 million total viewers, more than 700,000 adults 18-49. Portlandia, based on web series ThunderAnt, which Armisen and Brownstein produced together, is shot entirely on location in Portland and is directed, co-created and co-written by Jonathan Krisel. It is executive produced by Lorne Michaels and produced by Broadway Video.

If every episode has the Feminist Bookstore sketch I can die happy.
Much love to IFC for putting on this wonderful series…
Such a good show…
That show is comedy gold. I hope they continue to find viewers and even more success.
This show is a zany good time. Also, the show is shot spectacularly.
reallly. you’ve parodied portland to death. the little idios that we love only go so far. we are not prime time. we are not “nation wide”.
its portland……
coffee, hippies, a different beer on every block. people that cant drive in the snow and outdoor shit abound. that’s about it.
we don’t want people moving here. we don’t want a giant advertisement about portland.
go back to SF and NY. parody them. stop trying to Americanize porltand. we don’t want it!
P.S. piss off!!
sorry if i was offensive.
I sooo agree!people ask me all the time if it rains here all year and I say Yes- cause I don’t want them to move here-we locals know that it clears up in the afternoon and the sun comes out-but let’s keep that our secret or else “THEY” will move here.-keep telling them from out of town-(you can spot them-they have umbrellas)that they will be unhappy here…..

-Said by a texan regarding undocumented immigrants……err wait….
I soooo agree with you! leave us off the map-I have lived here all of my life-native…I hate whats my city has become-do not want outsiders coming in-hope they hate our rain and LEAVE!!!!!
Hey look, it’s the elitist hipsters that Portlandia spoofs, trying to keep Portland under the radar lest people start moving there and make it uncool.
For everyone not living in Portland who likes this show; How would you like it if Chris Parnell and the Chick who Played bass in Veruca Salt made a completely unfunny show about you’re city that glorifyed everything that people who moved there did to make you hate it? You’d think it would suck too! This show is simply not funny and shows a pretty shallow view of this city
Josh, you piss off! I lived in Portland for the past 24 years from age 23. This is the funniest show ever! Dont worry, enough people have moved away to escape the libtards like you, so there is room for those that want to come your way.
Awesome. My wish has come true!
portlandia is an excellent show. I show it to just about everyone..
it doesn’t matter whether it’s a ‘parody’ or not. funny’s funny.
Living in Portland, I have to say that this show is spot on at emphasizing the Hippie side of hipsters.
