EXCLUSIVE: Kiefer Sutherland is mulling a return to primetime with another Fox drama. The 24 star is in negotiations to topline drama pilot Touch, from Heroes creator Tim Kring. Like 24, Touch is produced by 20th Century Fox TV. Co-produced by Chernin Entertainment, Touch centers on a father (the role Sutherland has been offered) who discovers that his autistic, mute son can predict events before they happen. Kring wrote the project, his first pilot script since Heroes, on spec. Charles McDougall, who has helmed the pilots for ABC’s Desperate Housewives, ABC’s The Good Wife and, most recently, Fox’s The Chicago Code, is in talks to direct.
Complicating things are Sutherland’s duties on Broadway where he currently stars in a revival of the Jason Miller’s That Championship Season. The play, which marks Sutherland’s Broadway debut, opened last week. In order for Sutherland to be able to do Touch, its production may have to be pushed. Sutherland, repped by CAA and Management 360, spent eight seasons on 24 playing CTU agent Jack Bauer. It became his signature role and earned him an Emmy Award in 2006.

Wait, what’s going on with the 24 movie???
Not a lot i believe. Last i heard the script hadn’t been approved and officials shot down Sutherlands claims that it’s well underway

By far the best written drama script this year. Not surprised it has attracted a big name.

OMG are you kidding ? Didn’t he shut down production on his show for being in jail ? Come on .. Please hire actors that are professional , together and grateful . There are thousands out there just needing a shot !!!
Uhm, no. He in fact chose a longer jail sentence over a shorter one so it would not interrupt the filming for ’24′. He actually gave a shit about the cast/crew involved, unlike that asshole Charlie Sheen.
Kiefer is a professional and a gentleman. If you don’t know that then you should not comment. I would be proud to call him my friend anyday.

He’s a really loyal guy from all accounts. No way he’s bailing on Broadway so he’ll figure out a way to do both. Besides there are 24 hours in the day he can do them both!
Uhh who said he was bailing? The play is only scheduled to run for a few months. The article said the show will probably be pushed because he’s busy with the play. Plus it said he’s “mulling”it over, he hasn’t committed.

All I’m saying is he never read a comic book, ever. Then he came out with Heroes as a “spec”, and his “protege” Aron Coleite grew up in comics.

there is another option: move production to New York City, where Sutherland recently bought a rather large home, and make the pilot around the theater schedule.
Kring’s name and dreadful track record will ultimately keep people away. Heroes was a show that actually made (its few remaining) viewers’ blood boil in by the end of its run.
I like Kiefer a lot but something tells me he’s never seen an episode of Heroes and has no real grasp of how deeply the Kring Suck can suck.
Forget this pilot, Jack Bauer and Tony Scott are the perfect synergy! If you don’t believe me, check out “Enemy of the State” or “Spy Game.” Where is the 24 movie???? DAMMIT CHLOE

Sutherland is compelling. Whatever the man’s occasional demons are, he’s turned in some good work that was often overlooked during the decade prior to 24 when he was getting typed as a heavy. He was outstanding as a weakling in a little film called “Promised Land”, and wonderful in his supporting role in “Dark City.”
