EXCLUSIVE: Leelee Sobieski is set to star in CBS’ drama pilot Rookies, an ensemble cop show from The Color of Money writer Richard Price, which is executive produced by Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal through their Tribeca production banner. She is the first actor cast in the James Mangold-directed pilot, about six NYPD rookies who balance their personal lives with learning the beat on the streets of Manhattan. Sobieski will play one of them, Gen (White House) Perry, a golden-haired California girl and former member of the White House Color Guard who can handle herself whether dealing with a gang-banger or a busted toilet. Rookies reunites Sobieski with CBS where she had a breakthrough performance in the TV movie Joan of Arc, which earned her an Emmy nomination, and recently guest starred on the drama The Good Wife.

And this is different from Rookie Blue how?
Network procedurals have turned stale, there aren’t even any half-decent ones.
“And this is different from Rookie Blue how?”
CBS can name-drop “Robert De Niro” as much as humanly possible when advertising the show.
you haven’t read it, huh?
Love Leelee, but don’t see her as a cop, especially a NYC one.
Nice to see Helen Hunt Junior working again, BUT.. as Travis said… a NYC Cop??? REALLY???
Wow ! Leelee Sobieski’s film career faded very quickly , yes similar to Helen Hunt’s non-exist movie career. Please learn from Leelee’s mistakes: Hailee Steinfeld, Elle Fanning, Chole Moetz, Blake LIvely, Olivia Wilde, Mia Wasikowska, and Mila Kunis.
Isn’t this show already on TNT under the name Southland?
Please bring back a somewhat original cop show like The Unusuals.
If I was president, I would pass a law placing a five-year moratorium on any new cop shows, lawyer shows and medical shows.
It would be called the Try To At Least Pretend To Be Original You Lazy-Ass Network Bean-Counters Act
LOLOL You made me snort soda out of my nose. I so agree!
I’ll pay anything to watch Leelee read aloud her poetry on television. Make that a TV show.
If it’s on public access, and there’s performance art involved, SOLD.
I LOVE Leelee. LOVE HER! LOVE BOBBY! But, seriously….SERIOUSLY! HOW MANY FREAKIN’ COP SHOWS DO WE NEED!? ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
STOP.
JUST REALLY….
STOP.
I think leelee Sobieski is amazing. I would watch anything she was in.
Met her at a Fashion Week appearance last year. Stunning in person. As a New Yorker? Not seeing her as a cop. But, hey, crazier things…yeah, I’m still not seeing it.
