EXCLUSIVE: Two years after the Natalee Holloway telefilm set ratings records for Lifetime Movie Network, Lifetime has greenlit a sequel, Justice for Natalee Holloway, and Vanished with Beth Holloway, a 10-episode reality series starring Natalee Holloway’s mom, which examines some of America’s most disturbing unsolved cases. Both have started filming and will air on the flagship Lifetime channel.
Justice for Natalee Holloway picks up several years after the events in the original movie. It chronicles the ongoing mystery of the 2005
disappearance of the Alabama teenager during her senior class trip to Aruba and her suspected killer Joran van der Sloot’s series of conflicting (and so far false) clues about her fate. When van der Sloot demands $250,000 from Beth to reveal the location of Natalee’s remains, she and her attorney John Kelly partner with the FBI to build a case against him. But before they can, van der Sloot is arrested in Peru for the murder of a young woman on the 5th anniversary of Natalee’s disappearance.
Natalee Holloway star Tracy Pollan is set to reprise her role as Beth Holloway in Justice for Natalee Holloway, with Stephen Amell (Vampire Diaries) taking on the role of van der Soot. (The part was played by Jaques Strydom in the first movie). Scott Cohen will play Kelly, with Grant Show, who co-starred in the original as
Beth’s husband and Natalee’s stepfather Jug Twitty, making an appearance reprising his role. The producing team behind the original movie: Sony Pictures TV and executive producers Frank von Zerneck and Judith Verno, are back, as is writer Teena Booth. Stephen T. Kay, who helmed Lifetime’s recent movie hit The Craigslist Killer, is on board to direct. Like with the first movie, which was based on Beth Holloway’s book, the sequel is being done with her cooperation. Justice for Natalee Holloway is the latest in a string of Lifetime movies based on high-profile real-life crimes, including last month’s Craiglist Killer and this week’s Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial. In its April 2009 premiere, Natalee Holloway drew 3.2 million viewers, at the time the largest audience in LMN’s 11-year history. Pollan and Cohen are with Gersh; Amell, who was a finalist to replace Andy Whitfield on Starz’s Spatracus, is with SMS and Leverage.
Vanished with Beth Holloway will feature families who’ve been victimized
by unspeakable crimes who, left with little hope, turn to Beth Holloway, herself on a quest to uncover the mystery surrounding her daughter Natalee’s disappearance. Each of the 10 episodes will profile real-life mysteries, giving detailed accounts of the events as described by those closest to the victims interviewed by Beth who will offer her insight into each case. Jupiter Entertainment is producing, with Stephen Land (City Confidential) executive producing.

Can you say yuck?
The Vandersloot kid is a real nut job.I hope he gets his ass popped by some big black buck every night in that South American prison.
Why does it have to be a big BLACK buck? You seem to imply that only blacks are incarcerated in a Spanish prison. A little racist thinking?
Also in the film Francesco Quinn as Ricardo Flores the father of Stephany Flores who was allegedly killed by Van Der Sloot.
The whole idea of these projects makes me want to take a shower. What trash.
I can think of very few people who have profited and self-promoted more off another’s tragedy than Beth Holloway. It’s disgraceful.
Strikes me as disrespectful of the victims and sadly narcissistic. Doesn’t anyone grieve in private any more???
My question for you: If this had happened to YOUR child and there are no answers given to you, facts are kept secret, you have facts that this particular person took your child and quite possibly killed them or sold them off, would YOU be so quiet?! Wouldn’t YOU want the country to KNOW what was going on? Wouldn’t you want others to be aware? It isn’t JUST about Natalee, it is about ALL missing children (and people) out there. It is standing up and fighting the system and letting people be aware of what is REALLY going on, to possibly get some answers from someone out there that might care and be watching. If you loved your child and knew there were injustices and your child was still missing, I’m sure you and anyone else out there that REALLY cared about their child would do the same if they had the chance or opportunity. Some don’t get that chance to do so or either just give up, or are threatened to shut up. It DOES go on in this country. It is also well-known that our OWN government is involved in the child sex trade business, just check out our national defense (DYNcorp) and find out their disgusting history. If this is the only way to get the word out, then so be it. Lifetime is giving her that opportunity, whether Lifetime is in it for the money or not, it is her opportunity and to continue to make money to pay for her to travel and get answers to FIND her daughter! Why SHOULD she or anyone else just SHUT UP and *keep it to themselves*? Have you ever gone through this?! I’m sure the pain and unsettling lives with you as a parent for the rest of your life, so if THIS is what gets her through instead of just giving up and killing herself, then why not?! She’s not hurting anyone, it doesn’t affect you or anyone else, you don’t have to watch it…so what is the big deal?! Why aren’t you more upset about our justice system and our government that is not doing anything to protect our children, yet doesn’t mind bleeding us dry? Think about it!
all Beth is doing is trying to find out what happen to her daughter.if we were in her shoes we would be doing the same thing.I can think of some one else that was profiting from their Granddaughters death which is little Caylee Anthony who was murdered at the hands of her Mom.now that’s what I call sicking and disgraceful.
in other news dozens of other teens went missing last week.
Oh my god no! White blonde teenagers?!?
Don’t you mean, Female white blonde teenagers? No one cares about missing penises.
???
How can you have a sequel, didn’t she die in the first one?
Bottom line. VULGAR.
As are you and will never *GET IT*! Put yourself in someone else’s shoes for a change and maybe you will. Your comment is VULGAR and disrespectful!
Lifetime Networks? Are you f-ckin’ kidding? April Fools, right?
What kind of person builds a career on her dead child?
would John Walsh count?
John Walsh?
Lifetime has become Deadtime with more and more projects devoted to murders and murderers.
…and who is playing Natalee Holloway? Oh no one, of course, she’s dead!
care to explain?
While most of you sit there screeching like a bunch of sanctimonious #**#@, I’ll say that maybe the mother sees a chance to help others find their lost family members, like John Walsh with “America’s Most Wanted.”
Several friends who are news producers have actually spoken very highly to me of Beth Holloway (they actually criticized me, when I made comments similar to some of those posted HERE about how sleazy the whole thing is and how obsessed the news media is with this story). They claimed she’s just VERY DRIVEN and wants resolution, and that the story keeps coming back because she won’t give up. I think its possibly reached a Count of Monte Cristo level of need/revenge for closure.
Opinions, for sure, but from several NYC based news producers who have covered the story for years.
God forbid it was your child that vanished/died… Wouldn’t you want to help others in your child’s memory? I sure would. Thank gosh for people like them that can carry on and help others after going through this anguish. May God bless Beth Holloway, John Walsh, and all the other parents out there in their shoes who choose to help others. I personally thank you and applaud you, and pray for you and your loved ones who were taken away from you…
Well said, Kimberly! I totally agree with you! Obviously most of the people on here don’t care about what has happened to these parents, their children, or anyone other than themselves for that matter. It’s not about *making a buck*, it is exactly what Kimberly said, helping others in the same situation, bringing it to the attention of others out there that aren’t, and doing something positive in that child’s memory…to keep going, doing something good for others. What a GOOD thing! Thumbs up to Beth, Mark Klaas, John Walsh, and all the others out there that have been through this and are MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
seriously? why don’t you guys just cut the b.s. and make a sequal to rocky 7. VERY LAZY LIFETIME!!!! VERY LAZY! Lets help television Lifetime – not bore it!
Not Watching It! Very Stupid!!!
John Walsh?
I’m always suspicious of parents who profit from the disappearances
or murders of their children, especially when they do reality or
game shows.
I will watch, and so will millions of others! Bravo Lifetime!
Beth Holloway has said many times she will be the voice for Natalee for as long as it takes, and I admire her for it. Natalee will not be forgotten. Any parent that has a missing child can do the same for their child, but it takes extreme courage to stay the course as Beth Holloway has for five and a half years. Natalee should be returned to her family and her country, and she and her family deserve Justice in her case. This case was solved in the first weeks after Natalee’s disappearance but the authorities in Aruba chose to cover it up to protect tourism. The blood of Stephany Flores as well as Natalee Holloway is on their hands!
Don’t forget that Joran van der Sloot (IN PRISON) and his mother Anita continue to make money off of this case to this day as well!
Justice for Natalee!
Kudos to Lifetime! Beth has be relentless in seeking answers for her beloved child like any loving parent would. I bet that millions will be tuning in just like last time because everyone knows that Natalee could be anyones child, a young girl who let her guard down on what was supposed to be a carefree time in her life and fell into the hands of a murdering psychopath who never should have been allowed to prowl bars and casinos underage. But now he will rot in one of the worst prisons in the world exactly where he belongs.
For all of you criticizing a woman for telling her story about her daughters disappearance, get a life. You think it’s pathetic that she is “making a career off of her disappearance?” I think you are pathetic for spending your time criticizing a woman who probably doesn’t care about your opinion what so ever.
