EXCLUSIVE: David Giuntoli (MTV’s Turn the Beat Around) has landed the lead in NBC’s drama pilot Grimm. Created by David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf and to be directed by Marc Buckland, it is described as a dark but fantastical cop drama about a world in which characters inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales exist. Grimm centers on Nick Burckhardt (Giuntoli), a good-looking detective who starts to see humans as beast/animals and discovered that he has a legacy – to protect “humans” from these beasts. Giuntoli, repped by CESD and Hofflund/Polone, was also cast by NBC last pilot season when he got a guest spot in the pilot for hourlong comedy Love Bites.

Also of MTV’s Road Rules.
I remember him from MTV’s Road Rules way back in the day, as well as the various guest spots on TV shows he’s done over the years. It’s always weird to see former MTV reality stars do legitimate acting work, but he’s a handsome guy and decent enough actor. I hope this works out for him.
Fantastic guy, well deserved, heard the competition at testing was stiff
good for him
Wow. He is hot.
Wow, thank you for tearing yourself away from your MENSA meeting long enough to post that intellectual bon mot. Purely genius.
I almost rented an apt from this guy 4 years ago in Hwood. He was the super, taking care of the building for free rent. At the time, the industry was kind of collapsing. And now, it makes me happy to see this kid make it. He deserves every ounce of success. I’m glad he never gave up. Makes you feel good to see this happening to good people.
Can’t wait to watch. Perfect casting- he sure IS good-looking.
And talented to boot!
David’s fantastical leap from Method to a subtle, yet non-laissez-faire Meisner approach has dutifully made for a magical concoction of poise, composure, wit, sophistication and sheer HOTNESS. His trajectory is virtually limitless and it is shows. Very legal-chic, (if you know what I mean)… and that’s just the way we like it!
Very Brad Pitt meets Brian Dennehey, meets Perry Mason, meets Andy Rooney, meets Ahmad and Felisha Rashad.
Throw the book at ‘em, David!
Congratulations, you are the master of malapropisms. You obviously select words at random and just throw them into run-on sentences in the futile hope that someone will mistake your pretentious, bombastic, pseudo-intellectual nonsense for profundity. Tragically, you succeed only in cramming in more non-sequiturs into one paragraph than Hunter S. Thompson managed to fit into an entire book…and that was during his worst drug-crazed idiocy.
I’ve been following this guy for years. He’s done alot of various roles, very diverse, and pulls each one off well, believing the character he’s portraying. Good luck David; you deserve the success!
Mitch….Great comment!!! I totally agree with you.
Why don’t they just call it “Fables”?
You know Warner Bros & DC/Vertigo Comics are going to sue.

Except for it’s a Warner Bros show…for NBC.
On second thought- it doesn’t surprise me.
Books of Magic. Harry Potter.
Exact same thing.

I’m so happy for Dave! He is an amazing actor who has really worked his way to his success! He really deserves this!! Way to go Dave!! Much continued support and success to you!!
He might be a good actor but the show sounds like its gonna suck balls. Ah well…at least he can put it on his resume. It’ll be cancelled after 3 episodes.
The main character is cute!!!!
