The best part of the Oscars. Shame.

How about firing the producers??? God awful producing on every level. And, who the hell would let Kurt Douglas talk oncamera for so long? Especially on a show that was supposed to be geared “toward a younger audience”? WOW…

I would have been disappointed had the show been any better. Don Mischer never fails to lower the bar and the slide under it. How he continues to get work is a mystery.

Well, it was apparant that the air went out of the balloon early. But let’s give Anne Hathaway credit: She tried to compensate for Franco’s lack of energy and actually saved the evening from being even worse.
Besides wrong casting (Anne with someone else would have been fine; it seemed her talents were on full display), the producers created moments of utter….stoppage. The backgrounders were dreadful. Really, that GONE WITH THE WIND just drove a stake into the heart of any show momentum. Other moments, too.
It should include more “variety show” aspects. Stripping it of the dance numbers was an error. If the producers had made the dance numbers SHORTER, with lots of pizzazz and BIG/SPECTACULAR dance moments (Bugsy Berkely, where are you?) that would bring the audience to its feet, then…
You’d think with all the wonderful choreographers in town…
But alas, the producers just didn’t seem to be showmen.

Franco just looked bored. But we’ve all been on dates with brassy, never-shut-up types like Anne H. You just tend to shut up and hope for the end.

She can talk through an entire date with me any day.

Anne and James have as much charisma as a gnat.
I would sooner cast a PWC auditor than James / Anne as a host to something as prestigious as the Oscars.
The Social Network was robbed…
What was up with Sandra Bullock? She looked like she had a 104 degree fever.
Bring Billy Crystal back.

Man, all these comments make me feel truly blessed that I did not watch A FRAME of the 83rd annual Hollywood circle turd!
