From Evelyn Salt to Emily Thorn: Feature director Phillip Noyce is returning to pilot directing duty with ABC’s Revenge. Like Noyce’s most recent feature assignment, the Angelina Jolie starrer Salt, Revenge has a strong woman at its center. Written by Swingtown creator Mike Kelley, it is a contemporary re-imagening of Alexandre Dumas, pere’s The Count of Monte Cristo from a female perspective and centers on Emily Thorn, a mysterious young woman who comes to the Hamptons to exact revenge on the people who destroyed her family. ABC Studios and Temple Hill are producing. On the TV side, UTA-repped Noyce previously directed the pilots for Showtime’s Brotherhood and Fox’s Try Calling. He also executive produces the FX drama series Lights Out and directed an episode of HBO’s upcoming drama series Luck starring Dustin Hoffman.

Can you please find out if there is in fact going to be a SALT SEQUEL?
First of all the word “re-imagining” is retarded development-people jargon that doesn’t really mean anything and shouldn’t be used by self-respectable journalists just because D-peeps want us using the word, second of all if you absolutely MUST insist on using it at least learning how to spell “imagining.” I mean c’mon, that’s not like “lose” and “loose,” spell checker WILL find it…
Who the hell snatched the meat off your bread?
Another M.A.W.M. writer sells another pilot.
Yes, I think you made this point when the sale was announced. Duly noted. Moving on.
elia, piss off loser
I love Angelina Jolie but Salt was one of the worst films I have ever had to sit through. Why would anyone want to make a sequel? Of course, it probably did great in foreign sales.
You crazy man. SALT was the best action movie of the year. Plus it made $300m worldwide and sold 3m discs so far, so it deserves a sequel!
There isn’t going to be a SALT sequel. The first movie was terrible and did not perform as well as it was projected to at the box office. If I were Angelina’s manager, I would tell her to take a break for the next 2 years then come back in a small movie with a strong performance. Right now, she is terribly over exposed and is experiencing backlash from the movie going public. Personally, I wish she’s stop using her kids for PR when she promotes her movies. I feel that the Brangelina bs has overshadowed her own identity
SALT made money for everyone involved and Angelina’s strong performance was the best part of the movie. Whose manager are you that you want her to disappear for 2 years only to reappear in a small movie? Glad the studios and Angelina don’t care about your personal wishes and perceptions.
LOL. You one of those crazy stay-at-home-mom Angelina haters? Salt was a success- get over it.
We finally watched “Salt” last night. We all thought it was an excellent spy thriller, and Angelina did a very good job of kicking ass!
Oh joy. Another pilot that will need to be re-shot after it is
picked up. (if it’s picked up)
How many season’s can this thing run for before people get tired of waiting to see the payback for old sin’s ? It sound’s interesting, but I’d guess it won’t maintain it’s energy for more than 3 season’s.
The Hamptons? That’s a stretch. They’re filming roght now in Southport, North Carolina. Quite a difference there!
