Once one of the country’s top actor-comedians, Sinbad is now doing a reality series for WE tv. The cable channel has greenlit Sinbad’s Family Affair, a six-episode reality series chronicling the life of the comedian and his family. The series premieres April 12. “Sinbad’s story is one of second chances,” said WE’s SVP John Miller. “It’s remarkable and heartwarming, but not without its drama, conflict and chaos.”

Great programming choice for WE!!! Great to see another diversity family showing real America!!! GOOD LUCK, SINBAD AND FAMILY!!!
Jeez, Elia, you’ll cheer on any piece of crap if it’s got a minority in it. Is that all you look for in a show?
I cheer when opportunity is given. I cheer when people think outside-the-box. I cheer when the underdog gets a shot at the title.
Have you seen the show? Do you KNOW that it’s a “piece of crap”? Or do you judge it’s a “piece of crap” because of the diversity lead?
Elia,
I noticed you used the term “diversity” in the Kerry Washington thread as well. Someone responded that it was an offensive term. You graciously replied that you’d gladly replace it with another, more appropriate word.
Here’s the thing: DON’T USE A WORD. Pretend like we’re ALL human beings. I think that’s the dream anyways.
Using the term “diversity” as often as it appears you do makes it seem as though you are an HR executive seeking to be “PC” – which doesn’t really go down well on these boards. In meetings at work, sure. But not here.
Hopefully that was clear.
i lost you at “Once one of the country’s top actor-comedians, Sinbad”
I AGREE! When I saw that line about Sinbad being “one of the country’s top actor-comedians” I thought for a moment, “Is this article being written by his publicist?” Too funny.
Here’s hoping an army of Ray Harryhausen creatures rise from the ground to stomp this Sinbad show out of existence.
What is the matter Frank Johnson? What is so bad about Sinbad?
Clean humor too much for you?
Seriously? WE really will greenlight anything!
What is it with women and this reality TV garbage?
Sigh. I want Sinbad to have a real show. Guy is still hilarious.
I completely agree!
Sinbad is still alive?
Does anyone care?
Not to be a dick, but really…who cares about Sinbad?
Who cares about Sinbad? That`s a pretty ignorant statement just like most in this thread (not as ignorant as Elias though)
Seeing that he still works almost every weekend doing standup and makes between 50K and 100K a night, I would say alot of people do. I`m not one of them but they are out there.
Sinbad has admitted to beating his kids, saying it was his “cultural right.” Let’s see him tell that to America now.
The fact is, many Americans still believe in “spare the rod, spoil the child.” Although the GOP might not want to admit it, that is a core belief of its followers, and of the majority of the U.S. population in general. The few times that bills banning corporal punishment have been proposed, they have been shot down by voters. James Dobson(I am SO not a fan), an Evangelical Christian minister who spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2008, is a staunch advocate, and even wrote a book on the subject–”Dare to Discipline.”
I love Sinbad–he is a clean, family-oriented comedian, and very funny in my opinion. He is well-liked in the black community, and a much better role model than some of the current celebrities around, so I will most definitely support his show.
The show or previews have not even came out yet. How do anyone knows what the show is about? What’s this diversity stuff? I’m just asking sense there has not been no preview or any of the main characters telling anyone what the show will be all about. People are talking like they have seen a couple of the reality shows already when, the show is not schedule to be shown in April of this yr. O.K., we all have had those good old fashion ass whippens, and I’m not ashame of them at all. I never had a broken bone, never ended up a hospital, never dropped out of school, never ran away from home, never disrespected my parents and did not have a baby in my teens. I can not have been the best women as I am today without the love, care and disciplining from my parents and love them and thank them every chance I get.
There are people who are interested, Sinbad happens to be one of few comedians who can tell a joke or make you laugh without calling people out of there names, or swearing. It’s clean humor, and even though I will hurt someone to see Kat Williams, Sinbad has been tru to form for many years.
I am happy to see him step back in the light..I wish him luck.
@dickhead..be who u are and find a hole to crawl in.
I so agree with you janice. Sinbad is great. I too hope he makes a comeback. He has been away too long.
Envy is a waste of time. You previously have all you may need.
His show cant be any worst then the rest of the shows that have been on for years. He may teach us a thing or two about how a real show is suppose to be since these shows are suppose the be reality shows. It will be nice to watch a show and not worry about if the kids can watch. Thumbs up cousin, cant wait LOL.
I like Sinbad but that was so Fake with the Dinner couple. Seen Dude before on TV…Keep it real don’t become a operation repo
I agree that dinner scene was scripted. I have definitely seen that guy on TV before as well. Who wins a yardsale dinner for two with sinbad at his house for $300?

I love this show, Sinbad show is the boom (good). You can’t get any real than this show. I love your wife, Paige and Royce and the family dog. I laughed when the ribs almost fell off of the grill and Sinbads father sits calmly and watch his son yell at his son about the ribs. LOL
My husband and I love the new Sinbad’s Family Affair show. I have always loved his humor. It is so great to see a comedy show without all the foul language. Keep it up Sinbad! Thank you We tv!!
