EXCLUSIVE: Twelve years after their sitcom Sister, Sister ended its run on ABC, identical twin sisters Tia and Tamera Mowry are headlining another series together. The Style Network has given a six-episode order to Tia & Tamera Take 2, a docu-series about the current lives of the former child stars, with Tia going through her first pregnancy and Tamera planning her wedding. The series, which will premiere in late summer, stems from the Tia & Tamera Take 2 reality special the network aired in July. “The feedback from their special on Style last year was incredibly positive and showed us how much our viewers identify with these women, their humor and optimistic outlook on life and their daily journey to balance successful professional pursuits with their equally important personal and social lives,” said Style president Salaam Coleman Smith.
Tia & Tamera Take 2 is produced by Good Clean Fun (Harry Loves Lisa), with Jason Carbone and Style’s Sarah Weidman executive producing. Tia and Tamera are also exec producing with Tia’s manager Adam Griffin. After starring on Sister, Sister for 5 seasons, Tia and Tamera graduated from Pepperdine University with degrees in psychology. Tia settled down, marrying actor Cory Hardrict, while Tamera remained single until recently getting engaged. Tia is starring on the hit BET comedy The Game, and the two toplined the Lifetime movie Double Wedding last year. Style is coming off its most watched January ever, averaging more than 175,000 viewers in primetime.

A welcomed changed from the sisters Kardashian.
175,000 in primetime is considered a success??..
It’s the STYLE Network, genius. Not particularly a go-to destination. That’s apparently good for them.
If you are an actor wouldn’t you rather be acting than on a reality show?
You’re right, but with less scripted shows there is probably more opportunity to make your own show with a reality show.
Also, for a black actress, the scripted roles are even less, unless they want to play a sassy judge, sassy girlfriend, sidekick or any other variation of the “magical negro.”
False, frequently heard comment: there’s less scripted shows. With the presence of scripted cable shows, there are more scripted shows running than ever before…and certainly enough to offset the loss of network time slots to reality.
WHY? Tia has a legitimate job and Tamera sucks. Reality shows are becoming a ridiculous celebrity accessory.
I’m really surprised at the twin sitcoms …the last one was Dylan and Cole..and it is a new feature film shooting called Two for the Road..hmm..another cheesy movie? Well, it would be nice to see fresh innovative talent on TV…I mean the vets are great, but especially for Black Actors/Actresses..they are recycling the same actors from previous hit shows..and now you have reality stars walking down the red carpets, on the magazine..getting endorsement deals..when will this end…I blame Paris Hilton..
I’m a twin I grew up with their show I still watch some re-runs at 28yrs old but I LOVE U GUYS can’t wait 2 watch & I follow both of u on Twitter all ways positive thoughts!!!!!!
some of ya’ll are a bunch of haters… rather watch jersey shore & all that nonsense than see our own credited women get some of the reality hype… ya reality tv is dying but not dead… i am looking forward to seeing them together again. Since Sister, Sister ended, that has not happened… even Betty White has a career again! stop hating and appreciate another pair of headlining black feminine faces on the air… something we see to few of…
I loved sister sister as a kid and look forward to see how life has treated them… Ill be watching!!!!!
I love the twins. Well-educated, articulate, beautiful girls, and not a trace of ego. They are sweet and talented, and I couldn’t be happier for them. I would much rather see them than the drunken knuckle-draggers on Jersey Shore.
Haters…love you tia and tamera! Can’t wait for this to air!
i love the twins and i cant wait to watch !
Can’t wait for this to air
I applaud both twins @ maintaining a positive life for youngs girls to look up to. Especially, African American girls. Also for being able to maintain such sanity in the entertainment business because a lot of child stars go the opposite direction. So I also applaud their parents for giving them a positive upbringing. Congrats Tia, with your new baby& for being a part of my favorite TV show THE GAME; love you Med School. Congrats to you Tamara& God bless your marriage. Keep up the GREAT work ladies& blessed in your present& future success.
Yay! Great girls (sorry, I should say ladies but I’ve known them since they were 13) from a wonderful family. I had the privilege to work w/ Mowry’s & they’re such down to earth, kind Christian people. Mom Darlene & Dad Tim are both Army veterans & raised their 4 kids w/ a satin glove beneath an iron hand. I congratulate them on their most recent success. We need more role models like them.
true dat…
Omg,such a HATER,dam let them shine now
175,000 viewers is good because it’s a cable network. They don’t garner the same amount of viewers that an ABC or CBS would because they’re not as accessible as those networks. However, I’m very excited. I loved Sister Sister as a kid. I didn’t catch the July airing, but as I twin I’m excited by other twin relationships and they seem to have a great relationship. I hope it’s successful and they pick up more episodes.
175,000 is most certainly NOT good for cable. Shows like “Daily Show” and “South Park” average many, many more viewers than that.
It is good for STYLE Network.
Cannot wait for this to air!!
Sounds like a nice project for them. Double Wedding is a terrific movie. Watch it if you come across it.
I think yu guys areso incredibly beautiful and so true, and humble. I am so happy for u guys and i am a fan so im pretty excited too! Yay!!!!!!
