While its war with Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen is raging, Warner Bros. TV just made peace with the show’s crew. Sources confirm that the studio has agreed to pay the about 200 core crew members their full salaries for the four episodes of Men that were scheduled to begin production today. According to TMZ, which broke the news of the payoff, the checks for the crew amount to about $2 million in total. Additionally, the timing of the work stoppage on Men is fortuitous for the crew as it’s pilot season and they could get work on one of the 80+ pilots – broadcast and cable – that will be produced in the next 2 months.
Before production on those 4 episodes was canceled on Thursday after a serious of public verbal assaults on Two a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre by Sheen, Sheen had offered to cover one-third of the crew salaries for the 4 episodes that were lost because of the show’s forced hiatus while the actor was allegedly undergoing treatment. That is if CBS and Warner Bros. would cover the rest. Those episodes are probably a lost cause now. (Two and a Half Men ended up producing 16 episodes this season, 8 short of its 24-episode order.)
As for Lorre, he is said to have been instrumental in securing pay for the Men crew members. He has history with a number of them and also employs them on his other CBS/WBTV shows, The Big Bang Theory and Mike & Molly.

Well I have to say thus is really good PR for CBS/Warner.
Crew gets paid. Period.
Great news!
Interesting that the amount they will pay **200** people for 4 weeks is the same amount Charlie Sheen gets paid for 1 week.
Excellent point. I’m surprised 200 people are involved in making an artless program.
Thanks charlie, you got them to pay the crew. Winning! they had to do it to save face, Great Charlie
You’re as delusional as Charlie is.
Charlie’s not delusional. He’s hooked on Meth. Look at his face. The gaunt look, the missing tooth. Classic physical attribute of a meth addict. Why is nobody saying this or trying to help him??
An addict is unquestionably delusional. Can’t blame it on the drug.
While I concede that Charlie is off his meds – and may not even be a decent human being — he just passed a drug test — and so meets his obligations to the show – his porno private life is not something that management can or SHOULD act against — – Chuck Lorre is the villian in this – he went out of his way to dis Charile – and then when Charlie responded in kind – he killed the show…shame on him. So glad the crew will be paid…that charlie has gone off the deep end well what does anyone expect from a great talent reduced to dick jokes …its not quite King Lear but just as SAD.
I’ve seen Chuck do everything short of cut out his own tongue to NOT diss Charlie in front of the press, who were hounding him for responses. To finally let off a little steam on his Vanity Cards hardly makes him a villain.
Excellent observation!
Giving Sheen credit for getting the crew paid is like giving an earthquake credit for giving new people ocean front property.
Charlie winning again. Imagine what king of a check he could have written with his fire-breathing pen… Winning, winning and more winning.
“His fire-breathing pen.” LMAO
Well, he IS a warlock! So he has to have a “fire-breathing pen.”
That’s great news. Way to go, suits!
That’s Hollywood, ain’t it! 200 hardworking people combined make one fourth what the no-talent, drug-addicted, porn-star banging so-called star makes. But at least he’s grateful!
People need to stop complaining about what Charlie makes. He makes it because its the highest rated comedy that brings in millions a year in ads & syndication. He’s no different than a ballplayer that brings in fans and generates revenue for the team. Trust me, the network & studio don’t pay anyone this kind of money cuz their nice guys. He makes them millions so he makes millions in return. That’s Hollywood!
Agree with you, in principle. But when he whines that he can’t support his family because of the work stoppage, that’s where the salary argument loses credibility.
Exactly right.
Excellent news!
Be great if any guest/costar actors who had already been cast would get paid too…
Don’t hold your breath on that one.
This is not for concern for the crew, but rather a position statement for probable litigation. WB and CBS will need the best face possible as they are on ‘weak’ contractual grounds with Charlie Sheen.
Truly, no one believes WB is about to pay out 2 million because they are ‘good guys’ concerned about the crew. They wouldn’t pay this unless they thought it would be a good investment to achieve whatever end game they hope to achieve.
So Charlie Sheen offered to pay a third of $2 million to the crew? When he makes $1.25 an episode? Boy, that guy sure is a saint.
he makes 1.8 AN EPISODE.
Chuck Lorre seems like a strange fellow. I wish his shows were better (he doesn’t do crappy shows, but he does well-made shows that aren’t very ambitious).
On the other hand every time snobby types pronounce the multi-cam dead, Lorre comes along with another show that crushes most of the single-camera shows. I respect him for sticking by one of television’s greatest formats when it didn’t get the respect it deserved.
So just for that I gotta root for him over Sheen, even as I root for someone more ambitious to come along and dethrone Lorre as multi-cam king.
This is the smartest thing that’s ever been written about Chuck Lorre. Could not have said it better.
Why are you so shocked? It’s not like America pays to see the Key Grip on the screen. Stars get paid more because they are the ones that people tune in for, there is no hypocrisy, just business…
The crew should count themselves very lucky. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t pay them a dime. Having worked with crews as an AD, I know how they do the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM they can get away with and whine constantly about not getting enough breaks, coming back from lunch half an hour late ecetera ecetera. They are meatheads who deserve no respect.
Wow, really? I’ve seen a lot of ADs put up with an awful lot of shit, which you have to respect them for, but whatever loathing they have is usually directed above the line. You’re in the wrong line of work, mate.
mmmm, yeah
gotta call BS on this post.
I’ve made a good living as crew, the behavior you describe is a guaranteed trip to the EDD. I’m pretty sure that you have no idea what you’re talking about with your huge barrels of misdirected rage. Which leads me to wonder if you work in the biz at all. PS, we don’t get “breaks” on a film crew, typically you get a meal every 6 hours or so, sometimes catered, these days, usually not.
I am a producer. I listen to and respect my crew. I take care of them and they take care of me. Our clients are always happy.
Above all, this is a “people” business. Sure, there are “meatheads” on almost every gig. But you deal with it and move on. The world is our mirror…….
I am a producer. I respect my AD’s and crew. They take care of me and I take care of them.
Above all, this is a “people” business. Sure, there are always “meatheads” on every job. If you cannot handle that reality, get a new profession. The world is our mirror……..
Not the crews I’ve worked with. I might be risking my ass (literally, in my recent history) more than they do, but I know for a fact that they work a lot harder than I do
As an AD who has always loved your work, my respect for you grows, Evan.
Having hired a bunch of these goons myself, I say well said.
So is WB setting a precedent for shows that get canceled early? I’ve worked on several shows for WB and other studios that got the plug pulled early. Still waiting on my check……
I agree . Still waiting for my check from a NBC show that got cancelled after 6 episodes. It was originally 13 epi order. Hopefully it will come soon.
All kidding aside, I’m happy for the 2.5 crew. Good for them.
I worked on a show for WB that got canceled after 5 episodes but they let us finish out the initial 13.
I got 3 extra months work from that. WB is a good company to work for. I’ve been there for 15 out of my 33 years in the business. They’re good to their people.
Well finally some good news out of this mess. Good for you Chuck!
nice given that the crew wound up put out of work by the antics of Charlie that in the end they will have a little income from the now proably never coming back show. as they find other work going on now that pilot season is around.too bad charlie does not hand over his paycheck to the crew.
For having very little in the way of skill, the crew is paid exceptionally well and there is no job stability guaranteed for people in the entertainment industry anyway. While you are pointing out how ghastly it is that Sheen makes so much money, you could do the same by telling the average Mexican or Filipino what a teamster driver makes for sitting on his ass all day. That’s the injustice.
Oh puhleez. Sure. When in doubt, go attack the union workers. The fact that they make a living wage makes them the villains? “2 1/2 Men” is shut down because of them? Last I checked, the reason for this whole mess was the star, not the crew. Your comment is the most ridiculous spin I have ever heard in my life. You wanna talk about injustice?? Sheen makes as much in a month as an entire neighborhood of East L.A. does in a year and it goes up his nose. That’s that point.
And now Charlie can’t pretend he’s such a great guy for offering to pay the crew all this money – both because they’re already being paid and because oh look at that, it basically one episodes’ worth of salary. So much skin off his back to pay the crew that! I don’t care why Warner Bros did it, at least someone did.
It will only get worse fir charlie. Check out the web site about “meth mouth”
“Meth mouth”Charlie has this to look foreward to.

now that Charlie Sheen is out of work, does that mean the hookers are out of work too? like he said, he can’t support his family and the people he loves.
I still cannot believe that there are Charlie Sheen apologists.
Just like I’m sure there are Hitler apologists.
Every man has a bit of Charlie Sheen in him. Thank God most of us are not stalked by TMZ. (No offense Harvey).
Every man has a bit of Charlie Sheen in him.
Yeah, and so do a lot of porn stars [rim shot!]
Don’t sell your gender short. Most men are decent, honorable people who would never treat women the way Sheen does.
The studios assumed the upfront risk, not Charlie Sheen. They are therefore entitled to the lucrative backend, which by the way, I’m sure mr. Sheen is sharing in as well (above and beyond his base salary). He is a greedy juvenile . Anyone could have played that role and most would have been happy with even one tenth of his episodic pay.
