Alan Alda, Hugh Dancy Join ‘The Big C’

• The Big C had a terrific first season especially with Laura Linney in the primary role. She is one of the best actors on the planet.

  The addition of Alda and Dancy will add to an already fine cast…although, I was sad to see her neighbor’s character commit suicide. She was one of the most interesting characters on the show.

  My concern is what the storyline will be this year and into the future. It will be difficult to carry her cancer… especially in its elevated stage… season after season while keeping the show fresh and fun.
  It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

• Alan Alda is one of the true greats. I just wish Showtime realized comedies should actually be funny.
