Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions set a March 30, 2012 wide release for My Mother’s Curse, the road-trip movie that stars Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen. The film, which was scripted by Dan Fogelman based on his own cross-country jaunt with his mother, is being directed by Anne Fletcher.

Who in the hell is going to go see Barbara Streisand? Does anyone in this generation even know who she is?
oh please, liza – don’t be jealous!
My Mom and all of her friends. And I’ll go see it because of Seth Rogen.
im going to see because i it being filmed in front of my face lol
Yea, everyone that has ever heard of Barbra is dead.
You’re another idiot.
I’m not dead..58 and remember her well..I love movies with actors of all ages and backgrounds. Some of the best ones are independent/foreign films with names of people no one has ever heard of. It seems this country is so discriminating of anyone over forty…I think it’s a shame. Much can be learned from people who have experienced life. Barbra Streisand is a private person who’s stayed out of the limelight for years..but she is a remarkable talent who was probably under appreciated for her great acting ability..and an incredibly talented singer. Some of the people who won’t go and see it simply because she’s older may be missing out. I hope the younger generation’s attitude toward older people changes. Apparently, they don’t realise they’ll be there someday and contrary to what they may believe, the body and face may age, but the mind only gets sharper and better if life is well lived..you might just learn something. Other countries have so much more reverence and respect for their parents/grandparents and their histories..I often wonder why it’s so different here in the US.
Everyone who hasn’t heard of her or enjoy her work and intelligence… is really missing out…. she has and is at the top of her game for all generations!
I agree…I am 16 and barbra is my leader.
Sorry to hear of your death JD … you obviously heard of her, ergo ….
This will be a huge hit, Baba Wawa. What ever your generation is, it’s not the only generation that goes to the movies.
Uh, ‘Baba Wawa’ is Barbara Walters. And so what if her generation isn’t the only one who goes to the movies? I’m sixteen and she’s my hero.
If “THIS generation” (whatever THAT means) knows nothing about the past – IT KNOWS NOTHING. God, can we get any fucking dumber?!
Wait! Stupid question.
BABA, go back to your 140 character Lady Gaga tweet feed – a Streisand project is obviously too sophisticated for you to understand
Are you living under a rock??? Who doesn’t know that Barbra is the talent of the century???
All my adult children know who she is and their ages range from 23 to 32. Regardless of what sort of music you prefer, anyone who really knows music, has studied music history, knows Barbra Streisand..She was at the height of her career in the late sixties and early seventies…An amazing talent. I don’t know if this movie showcases her amazing voice, but it will be a disappointment if it doesn’t. You seem to think yours is the only generation to have graced the earth with your presence. I have news for you: There are plenty of people worldwide who know and appreciated this woman’s incredible contribution to the entertainment industry..yup, we’re still alive and kickin’. Please keep this in mind when you are in your fifties or sixties and your children are so ignorant to scoff at some of the wonderful new talent of today, just because they’ve had a couple of more decades under their belts..Don’t be so narrow minded and self centered.
ARE KIDDING? SHE IS THE TOP SELLING RECORDING ARTIST (RIGHT BEHIND THE BEATLES, ELVIS PRESLEY AND FRANK SINATRA! SHE HAS MORE AWARDS, FOR HER WORK AND HER ACTIVISM THAN ANYONE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD. SHE HAS HAD SO MANY FIRSTS FROM 1962 TO 2011 NOW!!!! HER SOLD OUT CONCERTS AND TELEVISION APPEARANCES HAVE BEEN NO. ONE… AND SHE IS A GREAT PHILANTROPIST.. FIRST WOMAN IN MODERN TIMES, TO WRITE, DIRECT, STAR, SING, PRODUCE A MOVIE IN OUR TIMES, YENTL….
HER CONCERTS ARE ATTENDED BY ALL GENERATIONS…
YOU ARE MISSING A LOT!!!!
You would be so surprised!
ummmmmmmmmmm.. excuse you but i’m 19 and black and i know and LOVE me some Barbra Streisand!!!!!!!
Ok, well i am 16, my brother is 11, I have a friend who is 16, one thats 12, and 15. We are all todays generation and let me tell you we know and love Barbra Streisand. Just thought I would prove you wrong. Peace, Love, Barbra:)

You don’t know who Barbra Striesand is??? What a moron.
Anyone who thinks Barbra Streisand is a “has been” is a fool. She has been on the top of Hollywood’s A List longer than most people. Do you think Robert De Niro , Cher , Bette Midler ,Al Pacino, to name a few, are “has been’s” these are the biggest names in show business. Yes, they are older but have never dropped out of the race and always been on top. I guess you don’t realize that just 4 years ago Barbra Streisand did a international concert tour, and sold out venues that hold over 10,000 people and grossed the largest sales in history, in Austria, Great Britain,France, Australia not to mention the United States! So shut up, if you are going to say ignorant things. It’s better to be silent and people may think you are a fool , than open you mouth and prove it!
Anyone who doesn’t know who Barbra Streisand is…is living under a really big rock!!!
I will because my son is in this movie! The cast and crew were amazing
Why the hell do you punk assed 20 somethings think you are the only significant part of this generation and all that counts. She is part of this generation. You obviously have your face buried so far in a mirror admiring yourself and Kim Kardashian that you are narrow enough to think that the world revolves around you. Watch and see who the hell is going to go see this movie if you know how to read anything but US or Teen Magazine.
What generation are you talking about?
I’d go see Barbra Streisand in a nanosecond. Everything she has ever done has been high quality.
Well then rtmis..
You are obviously one of the bright, open minded members of the younger generation who appreciate exceptional talent regardless of genre or the artists’ ages. Nice to know that we can not generalize about a generation. Neither young nor old should make such blanket statements and I imagine I’m a bit guilty of this too. I do often hear generalized statements about “OLD” music being boring..not worth listening to..uncool…and as a music lover, I do pity the closed minded who don’t allow themselves to experience all kinds of music and to learn about music history. After all, where does anyone think the music of today came from? It’s a constantly evolving creative process based on “old time” music, which to the discernable ear, will never go out of style.
um…she is not the only star baba dumbass…and yes she hiked the grosses for the focker movies…she is one of the true multi-talented greats…and me thinks she is best at comedy..nice to have her back….
why no mention that seth rogen is in this movie as well?
The same comments when the mirror has two faces and prince of tides, maybe not a 100 million gross but she has enough fans to make a profit. Not a baba fan but smart enough to when there is money to be made.
This is a really fun script. Kudos to Dan Fogelman! Streisand has always been a wonderful comedienne when she’s able to lighten up… she and Seth Rogan are going to knock it out of the park and I for one am already looking forward to seeing it.
Fogelman is a great writer but i have no interest in this film
I will be there opening night!!! I love her and she walks on water. You Baba Wawa are a fool to insult a national treasure. Keep your opinion to yourself.
I thought she retired a number of times
No, she didn’t “retire” a number of times. Don’t you Streisand haters know ANYTHING????
I’m straight of this generation and must say we all have a dash of retardation. It’s MTV, Idol
And crap like Spears and all the others that do the same voice fluctuations. Take a listen to Streisand Superman or even the disc great, Enough is Enough and you will have a three minute lesson on great.
Ta-ta
Streisand and Rogen will be PERFECT together!
The fact that Baba Wawa (the person who left the FIRST comment) can’t even spell Barbra’s name, just goes to show that they are not bright enough to recognize a super star when they see one. Baba Wawa, I hope you sit this one out….the movie will make enough money without your $9.50.
Snoring already
Well then “Experienced”..If you’re snoring..then you must be pretty boring. If you’re not a fan that’s one thing..but feeling bored about an entertainer you know nothing about is simple ignormance. Perhaps you’re not a music lover. I’ve listened to everything from Classical to Jazz, Blues to Rock and Metal..and singers from teen idols to old timers. Why do you say you’re snoring? Just curious as to the level of closed mindedness without the benefit of any knowledge of what this movie might have to offer.
From the “writer” of Pixar’s CARS.
If they don’t know who she is then they should find out. That’s like wondering if Mozart is relevant.
your one of the smart ones… just sayin : D
I read a draft of the script for My Mother’s Curse and it is very funny and smart. So glad Barbra is returning to the screen in a lead role. She is the last of the great stars!!
I knew we were in generational trouble when Barbra herself recounted how her young godchild, after seeing Funny Girl for the first time recently, asked why she was singing all those Glee songs!!!
I am soooooo glad I was born in Barbra’s generation rather than today’s. There is absolutely NO ONE before or since, that can compare with even a small part of this woman’s talent. You newbies need to educate yourselves before you make such numbskull comments like Baba Wawa. Barbra set the bar and all others are underneath it.
>>I am soooooo glad I was born in Barbra’s generation rather than today’s. There is absolutely NO ONE before or since, that can compare with even a small part of this woman’s talent…Barbra set the bar and all others are underneath it.
Except perhaps Judy Garland?

Except perhaps Judy Garland? And Julie Andrews?
There is lot of people from this generation who know who Streisand is and love her! I totally do! She has major talent and it is sad that lot of people out there don’t know what REAL talent is! I think the movie will be awsome and will for sure be watching it and buying it on DVD because all the Streisand does is GREAT!!!!
Because her talent SOOOO comes across in the FOCKERS movies…
NOT!
She did the “Focker” movies as a favor. She is so far and above that part. She will show the naysayers again in “My Mother’s Curse” and “Gypsy” that she truly is the greatest Star!
I will never forget even though its been 3 years. This will be an emotional movie as far as Im concerned.Barbara represents JF not only in character and physical appearance but in her love for others.
I pray I live until I can see the movie.
Thank you Dan ,this is an honor to mom
Rich
Well im 15 and im well aware of barbra striesand, and my parents dont even care for her that much. I know her from years of watching the nanny, funny girl, and Meat the fockers were she played been stillers mother. She was really funny in that so im expecting her to be equaly as humorus in this new comedy.
just as an added commented: in her music career, she has sang in all genres: Jazz, Pop, Classical, Broadway, and more and has been successful in All of them. Wake up!
I’ll be there. I don’t care about Streisand’s age…she is an amazing talent. This film will introduce her to a whole new generation of fans. She is the last of the great screen stars. Today there is no one really that interesting to watch.
there will never ever be another barbra streisand. her talent comes once in a life time.! Nobody can do what she has done. Nobody elses career can touch her! she is the highest selling female recording star in the world. and has paved the way for woman today!
She had a number one album last year, Glee talk about her almost every week, she is one of the last great stars of our time. People sit back and enjoy> The woman will amaze you with her talent. If you don’t know her by now you need to do your research, for those who do Barbra welcome back where you belong.
This could be the highest grossing live action comedy since Meet the Fockers! What genius pairing!
