EXCLUSIVE: Cary Elwes is set to co-star opposite Adrienne Palicki in David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman reboot for NBC. The project stars Palicki as comic book heroine Wonder Woman/Diana Themyscira/Diana Prince, who is a successful corporate executive working to balance all the elements of her complicated life. Elwes will play Henry Detmer, the acting CEO of Themyscira Industries, who is deeply devoted to Diana. He runs the day-to-day operations of the company and acts like an uncle to Diana, though he could be a possible love interest down the line. Elwes’ only previous regular TV series gig was his starring role on The X-Files. He recently did a couple episodes of USA’s Psych. The actor, repped by APA and KLWG, is filming Gary Marshall’s New Year’s Eve and was recently seen in No Strings Attached. He has Tin Tin coming out later this year.

Nice to see Elwes getting more work. Just watched him again in The Princess Bride, and he was outstanding. I doubt they want him to do Errol Flynn in Wonder Woman, though.

He’s old enough to be Palicki’s father and he looks puffy. If he’s actually going to be a romantic possibility for Wonder Woman this series is headed right where BIONIC WOMAN went.

My wife and I just saw Cary at LAX and he looked far from old and fat. He looked amazing. In fact, my wife won’t shut up about it with all her girlfriends! The show should be so lucky to get such an amazing actor.

Cary’s great. About time some real actors find their way to TV. I’ve been a fan of his since Another Country. Wildly under-rated actor and a terrific human being from what I’ve heard. Very odd for an actor.
Cary is the bomb. One of the nicest guys in town, and a hell of an actor. Funny thing is he tested for a lead in The River, (not the bruce greenway part) and Paul Lee passed on him! NBC snatched him up a day later. Go Greenblatt and Kelly! Hope this kicks ass. Go Cary go.
