EXCLUSIVE: For a second consecutive year, CBS will carry the Daytime Emmy Awards. The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will air live on the network on June 19 from the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas, which also hosted the show last year. Also back is Associated Television International, which will be producing the telecast for a third consecutive year, with ATI president David McKenzie executive producing. “NATAS is once again delighted to work with CBS and ATI on the broadcast of the Daytime Emmy Awards,” said Darryl Cohen, chairman of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
After airing on the CW in 2009, the Daytime Emmys returned to the Big 3 nets last year with a deal at CBS, which had previously alternated with ABC in carrying the awards show. Once again, CBS will air both the Daytime Emmys and the Tony Awards in June. Meanwhile, the primetime branch of the TV Academy, ATAS, is close to signing another 8-year “wheel” deal with ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox.

Slow news day?
LOL
I like watching the Daytime Emmys but last year it was all about “lets see how much Vegas we can cram down your throat.” Hopefully this year is actually more about the emmys and not vegas.
How many years does the Daytime Emmys have left, on account that the centerpiece of the awards were the soap operas, which are heading into their twilight years. Sure there are a lot of other daytime television genres out there that are covered by the Daytime Emmys, like talk shows, reality/lifestyle shows, court shows and game shows and children’s programming. But still…
Cue the lame and unfunny comedy attempts from Erik Estrada and Laura MacKenzie since ATI is behind this. Don’t know what I am talking about? Watch and see!
Or cue the even unfunnier Massey Brothers… an ATI staple.
That company is one of the most uncreative, vicious ones in town – and it all starts at the top – here’s looking at you, David McKenzie.
I missed the 2011 Daytime Emmy Ewards. Will it air again?
