UPDATED: It’s over for Charlie Sheen on the hit CBS comedy Two and a Half Men. But his ongoing war with the series producer Warner Bros. TV is far from over, with lawyers for both sides expected to take the lead in the coming weeks. The news of Sheen’s firing came shortly after 1:30PM this afternoon when the studio released the following statement: “After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately.”
Just like the studio did with its previous statement announcing the cancellation of Two and a Half Men for the rest of this season, Warner Bros. TV stopped short of announcing the end of the series, meaning that continuing the sitcom with a new actor next season is a possibility. Two and a Half Men has one more season under a three-year pickup at CBS. There has been a lot of speculation about CBS and Warner Bros. TV putting together a wish list of actors to potentially succeed Sheen on the show, with names like John Stamos and Rob Lowe bandied about. CBS would not comment on the future of Men beyond this season.
Sheen’s termination by Warner Bros. TV follows a relentless media blitz by the Two and a Half Men star, who has been taking numerous swipes at CBS, Warner Bros. and the show’s co-creator/executive producer Chuck Lorre over the past two weeks. He also launched a Web-based series, Sheen’s Korner, and is in talks with Mark Cuban’s HDNet for unscripted/talk show projects.
Today’s decision is fueling a new legal war between Sheen and Warner Bros. In preparation, the studio last week hired top attorneys Ron Olson and John Spiegel. Sheen’s litigation lawyer, Marty Singer, last Monday fired a letter to the studio demanding that Sheen is paid in full for the eight unproduced episodes of the show’s current eighth season, but the actor had refrained from launching a full-blown lawsuit against Warner Bros. That is about to change after the letter sent to Singer today by Olson and Spiegel’s law firm, Munger, Tolles & Olson.
According to a copy obtained by TMZ, in it Warner Bros. details its reasons for firing Sheen. “Your client has been engaged in a dangerously self-destructive conduct and appears to be very ill,” the letter read. It chronicles Sheen’s recent personal troubles, including the New York hotel room incident in November, the wild Las Vegas weekend in January and the 36-hour bender at his house that led to Sheen’s hospitalization on Jan. 27. It claims that Sheen reneged on a promise he made as part of signing a new deal with Warner Bros. in May, which required him to continue rehab treatments. The letter also claims that on Jan. 28, in a meeting at his house with CBS and Warner Bros. TV top executives Leslie Moonves and Bruce Rosenblum, Sheen agreed to enter rehab. But, with an airplane waiting for him the next day, he refused to leave his house, which he subsequently dubbed Sober Valley Lodge.
Even before the production shutdown, Sheen addiction problems had begun to significantly impact his performance on the show, according to Warner Bros. TV. In the letter, the studio cites “his inability to perform the essential duties of his position, (including) his physical appearance, inability to deliver lines, inability to collaborate creatively with staff and crew, inability to work with the executive producers,” which subsequently escalated to “inflammatory comments poisoning key working relationships, and frustration of the show’s creative environment by the public spectacle of his self-inflicted disintegration.” In the end, according to Warner Bros. TV’s lawyers, the actor was fired for violating a clause in his contract by committing “a felony offense involving moral turpitude.”
Sheen today seemed unfazed by the termination. In his vintage colorful style of bizarre imagery, he reacted to the firing with a statement to TMZ: “This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshiscock again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension.” Sheen was far less restrained in an interview with Access Hollywood: “These guys are such yellow cockroaches that they didn’t even have the decency to call me,” he told Billy Bush, claiming that he was fired via text. “I put 5 bil in their cheap suit pockets and another half a bil in what’s-his-cheese’s pockets and this is the f**king respect I get? It’s just deplorable, and they should be ashamed of themselves!” Sheen’s lawyer Singer later added that they plan to sue both Warner Bros. TV and Lorre. Under his agreement with the studio, Sheen is bound to private arbitration, though he can sue Lorre in court. Warner Bros. also said it is considering legal action against Sheen to recoup lost revenues from the episodes dropped because of his personal problems.
This is a sad end to one of the most successful sitcom runs for an actor. For the past (almost) eight seasons on Two and a Half Men, Sheen reinvigorated his career, earned major awards nominations and amassed a fortune. Under his most recent contract for the show, he commanded $1.5 million-$2 million an episode.
As for trying to replace him on Men, it won’t be easy. While it has been done successfully on workplace comedies, including Sheen’s stint on ABC’s Spin City after the departure of Michael J. Fox (NBC’s The Office is planning a similar transition following the pending departure of Steve Carell), switching lead actors on a family sitcom is much trickier. Let’s face it, in real life co-workers come and go, but family members don’t get replaced. ABC tried to continue 8 Simple Rules after star John Ritter died, but that proved impossible.
Ironically, Two and a Half Men exists because of Sheen. The project only made it to pilot because Sheen agreed to do it – CBS boss Moonves had made the pilot order contingent on Sheen, so the comedy wouldn’t have proceeded beyond a script without the actor.

So much for “winning”….
?? He did win, period! He lost “ZILCH.” We lost…..
We lost? Are you serious? His humor and antics, as he is, are irrelevant. He is no longer funny, but only a sad ghost of his faded zenith. CBS/Warner/The Public are all lucky to be rid of this has-been and let him wallow in his muck. Now, maybe the show can aptly be titled Two Men and Charlie’s memory be the 1/2.
Well I only started watching Two and a Half Men recently. I thoroughly enjoy the show and I’m disappointed and troubled by this whole situation. I think what bothers me more than anything is the lack of compassion from so many of you. It’s obvious that Charlie is in serious trouble and to hear the venom coming from anonymous postings, really makes me wonder what has happened to civility, compassion and quite frankly, your dignity.
I appreciate your compassion, but you really ought to get some other interests….
It’s hard to have compassion for a narcissist who cares only about himself. Compassion is for those who recognize they are in trouble and need help, not for people who spit on others who are trying to help them. Charlie needs to recognize that he has a problem FIRST, then reach out for help, THEN receive compassion.
So very sad..Nor for Sheen, who is a toal moronic druggie..It’s sad, more like pathetic, that you dullards actually care.
Sitcom watchers are the true morons of our society..Pathetic losers who get off on laugh tracks.
Idiots whose only salvation in life is the tube.
Alas, you imbeciles..Gather your TV Guides and find another moronic show to get you off.
@lilylang; Are you kidding?
Charlie SHEEN has become everyone’s problem. His family needs to step in and get him some serious help. But he is an Adult..or suppose to be. He’s a train wreck, and the more he speaks and makes his stupid videos, it’s going to seal his fate even more. He is so far gone, he doesnt realize he’s ruining any future chances. And in all honesty..Nobody is watching his videos because they are on his side, they are watching to see just how long it takes him to become totally UNGLUED. Which , he will do, it’s just a matter of time. HE is in no shape Mentally to be in charge of young children HIS Own or anybody elses. HE has become a problem, and he needs to be committed for an evaluation. If he comes out with a clean bill of health, then all i can say is that he is more brilliant then any of us thought. He then deserves an academy award.
“what has happened to civility, compassion and quite frankly, your dignity.”
You’re kidding, right?
It doesn’t have to be about Hollywood, it’s the human race.
It’s ugly, fearful, mean, and spiteful.
Civility is like gold leaf, it’s great but if you scratch that thin layer what’s underneath is the real us.
It’s hard to have compassion for a millionaire who’s allegedly had addiction issues for decades and refuses to get serious treatment.
Charlie’s in a bad place. That doesn’t mean he’ll always be there nor does it mean he ought to be judged in the future for having been there. It’s a sad situation. He’ll realize what havoc he’s created ‘later’ but at the moment he’s not able to see from the vantage point of those of us responding to this blog. I feel for him. He doesn’t have any idea what has happened to his life forward … he’ll never be ‘looked at’ in the same way. It’s totally different from an alcoholic or a drug addict for some reason. There is very little tolerance for mental illness.
Oh well, it is what it is.
If he would only get some sleep, and admit defeat. God willing, he’ll live through this and who knows! he may even fool us all and kiss off his addictive behaviors and thoughts.
If not, there’s no need to beret the fellow … he’s not even aware of his situation at the moment. Not to say that he doesn’t have valid and concrete ‘come-backs’ to all that’s been thrown his way. He does. He’s brilliant. He’s just not in a good spot for whatever reason. It’s not always the drugs. Sometimes the drugs cover up the ‘reality’ of the situation.
I’m not really in a position to respond to a bunch of aggressive counter-reactions, so don’t bother. I know, from experience, that Charlie is operating from a disadvantage because of the mental state he’s in. OK that may seem obvious, not to him though. It ought not ruin his career and life so to speak. Give me a break. How many of you are so clean that someone might not put a spotlight on you and be able to say “see … see”.
He’s messed up. Sure. And I think he needs to come back to ‘our reality’. That’s what mental illness is by the way … it’s another’s lack of agremment to what’s considered normal.
Sorry Charlie. You’ve taken this too far. You still have my empathy, but not my peers in the mental health field.
Let’s wish the fellow the best. We don’t want him to take his life. What do you what him to do by the way? Do you want the fellow dead? Do you really feel that adimate that he needs to exit and leave all of us mediocre peeps to carry on?
I admire your honesty, soul and love for humanity!
John francis Siple
It’s all about Charlie is it? Well what about all the other actors on the show? Does Charlie care about their futures? What a selfish A_ _. Who does he think he is anyway. If YOU had done some of the thingS he has gotton away YOU would be in jail doing some serious time. And have you seen Charlie lately he looks like hell! Burned out. Yes! he needs help but he has to want it.
Its hard to feel compassion for someone who is a complete junky, has NO ambition but to keep doing drugs, over wives, kids, father, brother and over any friends who are not tweekers sponging off him. Look in the background of his “winning” crew, they would have to find another just to make a full set of teeth. They are all addicts, and they will help Charlie feel like ‘the Man’ until they smoke all the crack and meth, shoot all the herion, pop all the ‘x’ and when he loses his ‘sober lodge’ to the bank for missing payments, finds out he has nothing left of his fortune after child support and drugs drain the bank, those losers leeches will find a new host to use. Very sad, he had the world and all he cares about is drugs. I could see the world, and spends his day looking a pretty colors as his mind melts away for good.
Good luck and health to Charlie. The best revenge for him would be to ragain his mental health and move on to bigger and better things. Good Luck Charlie.
Anonymous, as a man who works with many psychiatric patients, I can tell you Sheen’s mental health problems have been caused by his own doing. He’s a known alcoholic and cocaine addict who continues to choose getting high over facing reality. If he were without support, living on the streets alone, the drug abuse may be considered as the only available option to deal with his problems. That is not the case in this situation. This is a multimillionaire who has all the family/friend support anyone could dream of. He’s got the dollars to pay for the high cost treatment of his problems. He simply chooses not to. People like Charlie Sheen are the ones who are destroying our mental health system for the millions who legitimately need help and have no way of knowing they do. Sheen is simply a spoiled brat who’s always been handed everything he’s ever wanted. He never learned compassion for anyone but himself. He’s the scum of society. Let the man crash hard. It’s the only possibility of getting him to change his ways and live a better life, not just for him, but for all those children he’s fathered. I’ve seen many patients who have severe mental health challenges, where drug abuse had nothing to do with it. Those are the people we need to pity and help. People who screw their brains up by abusing drugs, in the majority of cases, should be dropped at the curve and left to fend for themselves. As long as people support them, they will continue to abuse everything they can. Charlie Sheen may be sick, but that sickness is one he chose, and continues to enforce on a daily basis. He doesn’t deserve pity from anyone. Those we should pity are his children he has dumped in his path. Just let Sheen crash, and crash hard.

I’m saving my compassion for all the women he’s gotten away with abusing over the years.
Compassion? For a meglomaniac that is morally bankrupt? For someone who was making over a million dollars an episode who then totally eviscerates his employer? This 1/2 a man that thinks having a porn actress and another senseless girl raise his kids is healthy…. and I coould go on ad nauseum…but he’s not worth any more effort in replying to your cry for compassion…but then you might call for the same compassion for a Hitler, Stalin, Po Pot, etc…because they had “troubles”?
I wish for Charlie Sheen that he will grow up and willingly take the path(s) that will help him to heal. He brought his problems upon himself, and he must be willing to address them, himself. It is not my place to judge him, but, being human, I sometimes do. Mostly, I just ignore him.
I guess its ok to cheat on your wife but you do drugs you are pushed out of TV, sad how far this countries morals are slipping.
way to oversimplify.
Aside from a long history of violence against women and incredibly racist language (both of which can be liabilities for his employer), his drug use led to very costly delays and cancellations on the show.
There are plenty of “winners” in LA who recreationally use drugs and still knock it out week after week on set. Trust.
Charlie squandered his promising talent and incredibly privileged position as a legacy child of hollywood royalty. That wasn’t the problem. The problem is that unlike the real work hard/play hard doers in hollywood, Charlie couldn’t get it done.
as the producers, WB and CBS have now taken the “high moral ground”
I suppose they will also yank the “reruns” right?
if CS is suddenly such a “bad actor” (not in the theatrical sense)
how could they fail to do otherwise?
You are absolutely correct tyler. ROb, I’m guessing you’re a hard right winger strongly devoted to the literal claims of the Bible. How many times has Sheen cheated on his significant other? He’s currently living, and having sex with, two women. Doesn’t that go against those morals you’ve got? Infidelity is a private matter between two people. Violently destroying hotel rooms, beating up multiple women, encouraging illegal drug abuse, and all the other wonderful things Charlie has done while in the public eye have a negative impact on society in general. No matter what Charles Barkley may have said in the past, those in the public’s eye do have a higher responsibility for good behavior. They make their high incomes because they are watched by so many average citizens of this country. Responsibility comes with that job.
Actually I do not agree, I suspect that the advertisers are the true looser’s here, along with chuckie boy, I think its time to boycot warner, I no longer wish to watch content on these networks as well I also do not wish to purchase any goods or services of advertisers of this network. How do you like that chuckie boy
To TYLER. there are ZERO winners using recreational drugs and showing up for work. There are, however, ZERO’s that use drugs and show up and do thier jobs, but they are headed down the same road, just they are farther up the path, stay on it, you will see C.Rosco Sheen one day.
There was a zenith?
Anyone notice all his teeth are gone? Cocaine doesnt make your teeth fall out, Meth does. Meth would NOT show on a test for cocaine if you didnt want it too, so theres your clean test. This guy is tweekin and freekin. You start into chrystal meth, you hardly ever kick it, hes done. I’ve seen a few people on meth, and they act like Sheen does, almost like aliens, lost to how things should really work, obsessed about stupid things that make no sense to ‘clean’ folk.
Also, notice how he is ‘bragging’ about how epic he parties? That is not a man who is trying to recover, thats a user still using, and thinking its ok to do it. He has been an addict since probably Jimmy Carter was in office. Think about that, he started in the Carter administration and he will die in the Obama administration.
what are you talking about i have watched every episode of his hilarious comedy over and over he is king and he always will be taking him off the show or even continuing without him is a waste of money because no one will watch…ever the show was built around him taking out the foundation in a sky scraper is crazy and firing charlie sheen is much more crazy
what exactly did “WE” lose ?
We lost the cance to see Sheens heart literally explode in high def, now we probably will have to watch it happen on a cheesey web cam.
He lost his show.
He lost his children
He lost two wives.
He’s almost lost his immediate family.
He’s lost his mind.
Duh! Losing!
Gold star for this post. It can’t be said better~
How bout if its a cool ryhme:
He lost his looks and lost his wife,
he lost his teeth on a friday night.
He lost his youth so long ago,
Shovels of drugs to fill the hole,
and the children, the children,
they had to leave.
His Dad and brother soon will greave.
Dead man walking
Dead man walking
Dead man walking
Dead man…
I wonder if he sees the irony in his “Winning” mantra.
Ditto!
‘N’ soon his life… ;(
Spot on!
Well said, nicole
Personally, I would call it a Fresh Start! CBS is a looser network anyway. The only time I ever watch anything over there is when there is a sport contest on. The News Division is lame. I wish Charlie the BEST!
@nicole; He didn’t lose anyone. He drove his wives and family out of his life with drugs and abuse. He didn’t want to be on the show anymore. He did lose his mind though, so you did get 4 out of 5.
He bangs 7 gram rocks and hot sluts dressed in cheerleader outfits.
That’s #WINNING in my book, pal.
I work extra hard so that one day, I too can afford to lay in bed and snort coke off hot hooker ass. Say what you will. I’m in Sheen’s Korner.
The above post is what keeps Charlie out of Mel Gibson/Tom Cruise territory no matter how much the entertainment press tries to smear him with the “crazy”/”anti-Semitic” brush.
To a whole lot of white males in an increasing-pussified country, Charlie’s living the dream. Money, hookers, blow, telling your boss to fuck off, smacking a chick who gets out of line.
Sheen’s doing all the work so you don’t have to.
PREDICTION: They will all get around a table, bang out a deal, and Sheen will do his last year-and-a-1/2 on Two and a 1/2 Men. Too much dough to leave on the table, and nobody will buy another lead on the show. And nobody wants to see Jon Cryer carry a sitcom (four failed shows before Two and a 1/2).
Mark my words.
You’re another loser (note correct spelling, you guys). If that’s what you think life is all about, you’ve got a long way to go. I almost feel sorry for you of no character.
@Torgua
Money might buy debauchery, but it can’t buy real joy. Sheen’s life is an empty ruin, in spite of his wealth and privilege. I’ve seen it before: rather than take responsibility for the emptiness and misery in his heart, he fills the void with anger; seeking to blame others for his poverty of soul. Paranoia is the twin sister of narcissism. What we are watching here is the miserable, self-destructive consequence of self-worship and pleasure seeking.
By any measure, you are right, Charlie has reached the epitome of material success; but his life should be a stark warning sign to all who think that material wealth equals fulfillment.
He has all that money can buy, yet he is a miserable, and angry soul. Obviously, while money can buy pleasure, it can’t fill the emptiness of heart in a sin-bound soul.
How pathetic is this?
And these are enviable traits, why?
Sorry, but I don’t envy or admire the person who lacks the moral fortitude to actually grow up, stand up, and be a man. I don’t envy a person who will die alone in a puddle of their own vomit because not a single living soul gives a damn about them, whether or not they are dead or alive. I don’t envy the person who other people can only tolerate being around insofar as that person is their own personal “gravy train.”
Charlie says “Thomas Jefferson was a p****” ??? The sad thing about this country is that fact that it’s been 200 yrs since we’ve even seen men of such character…instead, we have a country of schlubs, slackers, and losers!! Thanks, Charlie, for being the posterboy!!
Yeah, if I would realize 1/10th of Charlies income. WOW ! The rest of you are just a bunch of low grade slimers. Go Charlie!!
Amytas, you sound like the same kind of demented freak that Charlie has become. Hey, maybe the two of you could get a discount on counseling sessions???
add. his integrity. his soul. his pops. and respect from anyone but the sad hangerons. hell just ad infinitum. lost.
Yeah, that’s sad.
Well said. LOSING!
Dont forget he shot his Fiance in the 80s. Kelly Preston, who is Travoltas wife. I guess when your drug addict boyfriend shoots you, you because he’s high and abusive, you break up with him….probably a good move or Kelly.
You forgot one more thing he lost, which apparently is the most important thing to Charlie Sheen, more important than his children, more important than himself, more important than his fellow co-workers, more important than anything:
He Lost His Money!
All those cling-ons, including the so called “goddesses” that Sheen has around him are only there because he’s paying them. Once the gravey train stops, and it will very soon,if he continues on his current path- everyone will evaporate, and what will he have left except the winning tattoo.
What a shame Charlie, wake up you fool, before it’s too late.
Here is what the Executives wrote to Sheen’s Attorney:
“Your client has been engaged in a dangerously self-destructive conduct and appears to be very ill,”
You are a complete douchebag. “We” have lost nothing except a pathetic, lazy actor on a sophomric show. Get a life.
What an idiot. I mean you not C. Sheen.
What an IDIOT (I mean Charlie Sheen and Astra)! You’re right on the money Mitch.
Waiting for Charlie to start commenting here. He’s been every where else or soon will be.
Maybe he can take over for Regis. lol!!!
Or maybe he just needs someone to replace his cocaine with Lithium.
We lost nothing. Sheen, on the other hand, has lost credibility, dignity, and obviously his mental health.
We lost….nothing. Sheen has destroyed himself, physically as well as mentally. His drug abuse has destroyed his body and mind. He looks and acts like a senile old man with a bad wig and false teeth.
Sheen is a train wreck and his personal behavior is awful.
We lost *nothing*, other than the opportunity for small pieces of our souls to be tainted by this clown.
I wonder how his duct-taped-mouthed father is feeling about all this? Maybe he has tape on his eyes and ears now too?
#SPINNING
Really? What did we lose, another mediocre actor?
Really? Do actually believe what he is saying? To me, being fired, in addition to not getting his three million dollars per episode is really losing, A LOT I might add. I know his ego has been bruised, and you can see this all over his crazy rants.
I am wandering how his dad and brother are dealing with this. His dad must be embarrased as hell, to say the least.
Isn’t he the most payed actor on any sitcom to date? Three million dollars for an 8 hour day, which is an episode basically, is not bad. This sums up to roughly 54 million dollars a year. Now, that’s a giant paycheck!! And to be losing that?! Call me stingy, call me anything, but when you put that amount of money on anybody’s face, you’ll be surprised at the reaction you get.
Too bad because I liked the show. Too bad what happened to Charlie. What about all the other people on the show, I guess too bad for them as well. Could anyone replace Charlie, no. He was the show and I don’t think it was much of a stretch for him to be his character. I just hope Charlie has enough money and brains to know his time in the sun is over. I hope we don’t see him on late night info mercials selling the product of the day.
FAIL!
How do you continue a show when the principle actor is in a drug-induced psychosis?
That’s how he worked for the last 8 years.
This move is all about the power of the Showrunner.
Lorre can produce 3-4 hit shows for CBS and WB.
Charlie can only star in one at a time.
The money will keep rolling in for Sheen for many years to come from Two and a Half Men, unless they take it off of re-runs, and other networks quit buying the shows. Seems to me as a win
Jim,
The show’s principle actor plays a role of someone who parties all the time, takes drugs and alcohol and womanizes loose women. The man is the character is the man. Clearly Sheen is still standing on some legal precedent. He has not been arrested or charged in any crime nor continued an alleged activity in line with his shows character. Speculation aside, what has Sheen really done wrong. This could be a gold mine for ALL.
Since when does one have to commit a crime to be fired? The default in America is at-will employment, which means either party can terminate whenever they wish, for whatever reason. In this case there is a contract involved, but Sheen’s grandstanding aside, I seriously doubt there isn’t a clause covering termination for such behavior.
Have you ever read or seen a studio contract? It is standard to have a ‘morals clause’ in each one. A morals clause allows a “buyer” – in this case, a TV studio – to bail on a contract if a star’s conduct is “detrimental to the buyer’s interests, image, producers or advertisers.”
You can be sure that internal focus groups were conducted by the studio, the network and its advertisers before the move to dismiss Sheen was made.
He can bark, make threats and sue all he wants but a public company like Warner Bros. would not have fired him if they were not sitting firmly atop solid ground.
Not even the highest paid celebrities can slander a major studio without consequences.
Simple, he moves to Vegas as a lounge singer. Crier remarries has a kid and the first kid is the new ‘#2 men’.
I quit watching a couple of years ago. And wouldn’t start again with a new actor. I think that it’s dead meat, no matter who / what they do with actors, plot line or writers or any other BS.
I have to agree. The show has gotten really stale. My wife was getting mad because I was saying the next line before the actors did. It’s time to put the show to bed.
The american sitcom always goes on for too many seasons. This one should have been cancelled after the kid grew up and wasn’t cute anymore.
I’m surprised they didn’t find a way to add a baby to the show like all others do when the original kid grows up.
No matter what any of us think Charlie is even bigger now than before. I can’t imagine this resulting in some kind of project that will yeild crazy money for him and whatever company! Winning!
Charlie does Surf!
How about getting “Cousin Oliver” from the Brady Bunch….He single handedly rescued that show.
Ted McGinley to the rescue!
Funniest. Comment. Ever.
It was funny the first 100 times people on the internet have been making the Ted McGinley “jump the shark” joke…. Now, not so much.
No, did you really just take time to write that? Yes.
Outside of Martin Sheen, he really is the only choice!
Wow, this guy would be perfect! Never even thought about him. He was great on Married with Children.
Yeh, Ted would be great.
Ted could pull it off. I thought about it for a few minutes and they could do it. Herb leaves Judith, Charlie dies, and leaves everything to the kid and Alan, but Allen gets remarried to ‘whoever’ and she takes all his money. Alan, now broke again, has to sell his house on the beach. Herb buys it and lets them all live there. Bring in Ted as a sleazy, ‘CHarlie type role’ who sweeps Judith off her feet, but is scamming all the time. Herb with money and single starts getting all the women, without the alchohol abuse, leave that for Teds character. You still can run the Alan the loser angle, Kid with money can even have his father at his knees. New dynamic, but could open up the story line.
BTW< I want CREDIT FOR THIS IF THEY DO IT!!!
Bring on the wacky Uncle Howard Stern!
His role was so not a stretch from real life the hardest thing he had to do was learn a 2 syllable last name.
Who’s Ted Mcginley? lol
Ted McGinley is one of the most legendary showkillers in TV history. He’s the Grim Reaper of TV.
Pretty much anyone would’ve stunk up Happy Days after Ron Howard hit the bricks but he was as good as if not better than Steve when he filled in as Jefferson on MWC.
Howzabout Jm J. Bullock?
Hope he gets a spot Entourage helping Vince through rehab.
No he’ll be Dr. Drew’s new guest star.
Hope you all put Charlie in your ghool pool… next step is six feet under.
New this spring on CBS: “1-1/2 Men”, the wacky story of a geeky bachelor and his son who inherit a Malibu beach house!
They’ve got to use different actors in each episode in Charlie’s role, to prove his irrelevancy. Dave Chapelle, Patton Oswalt, Jackie Chan, Ellen Degeneres. It would be hilarious…
HAHA.. Dave Chapelle! I woud actually pay money to see that!
That is genius. Just put a different person in the role of Charlie Harper each week, perhaps with a little wink to the audience. It would be brilliant.
Love this idea. Wasn’t “Uncle Charlie” on My Three Sons played by different actors?
That is funny. Great stunt casting every week. Makes it appointment television.
If Moonves has a true sack of venom between his legs, he’ll do it just to prove to every egomaniac actor in the CBS stable that they are all replaceable.
Cmiller… i hope you have an literary agent cause that is a very good idea.
Dave Chapelle would be hilarious!!!
This idea has been discussed on DHD for the last 2 weeks.
They should take Charlie Sheen’s real-life statements and put them in the mouth of Jake.
…because Sheen sounds like a Ninja Turtle with rabies.
Next season is writing itself on DH. Hope Lorre is reading this thread. Would actually make me tune in again after the junk food they’ve been serving up.
I bet his next gig will be offering commentary on “Most Dumbest.”
I’m a bit shocked by this — given the publicity of that sheen has brought it sure would have brought in even bigger ratings come fall. Why did they have to decide so soon?
“Decide so soon”??? Seriously, if ANY “normal” person (like you and I, who are not “bitchin’ rock stars from Mars”, or who do not have “tiger blood” in their veins or “Adonis DNA”) were to publically say the things about our boss as Sheen did about his, we’d have been fired in a nano-second.
SOMEbody needs to get this man some help, but sadly, it’s very likely too late. The crack has damaged his brain.
At some point in time, the BS, the increased liability just isn’t worth the money. Believe me, they ran this by the bean counters first.
I’ve been wondering about when the decision was actually made…
Actors often joke/warn that you should always worry when they give your character dialog like, “Owww, I’ve got a headache…” It could mean you were starting down an Emmy-award winning arc about a brain tumor–or it could mean they’re going to give your character a stroke and write you off the show.
Of all the many sad things about this situation, one of the saddest is that Sheen was too far gone to remember that lesson. The “headache” scenario was already in place: The last original episode to air has the Charlie Harper character flying off to Paris with a woman he wants to marry.
Was that just a coincidence? Or were Lorre, etc. already thinking that the Paris plot could be a perfect opening for a new character in Malibu, while still leaving open the possibility that Charlie might return?
He “promised” to go to rehab? Did Big Daddy Les get that promise in writing? Probably not. He wasn’t in trouble until he referred to Chuck Lorre by his birthname, which Lorre himself has used on one of his vanity cards (it’s one or the 2 or 3 hundred ones, probably one in the 300′s) which can be seen at Chucklorre.com
Les Moonves ruined CBS Radio and now has killed the golden goose. Winning!
Since the characters Alan and Jake moved into Charlie’s beach house, they will have to find other “reasonable lodgings”, if the show is to go on. I say they move into Grandpa Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli’s abandoned Motorcycle showroom.
War’s over, Charlie.
But buck up.
Now you can concentrate full time on crackpot 9/11 Truther projects and getting high!
why isn’t the SEIU baking their boy!
Dude!!!….You don’t bite the hand that feeds you. What an EGO!!!!
As Kirk Lazarus would say “He’s a dude disguised as dude playing antoher dude”.
Goodbye Uncle Charlie – hello Grandpa Gary (Busey) = the show will be better than ever!
THIS IS TRULY SAD, AS HE IS AN EXCELLENT ACTOR. HE NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION, AND GOD’S HEALING. THIS IS A SICK MAN, MAKE NO MISTAKE,I SUSPECT MANIC DEPRESSION, LEFT UNTREATED IS OFTEN FATAL, AND THAT DESTROYES THE ENTIRE FAMILY. EVERYONE PRAY FOR CHARLIE SHEEN, AND HIS CHILDREN, THEY NEED HIM.
I applaud your compassion, Kathy, but next time, please lay off the caps.
The whole situation is beyond sad. Charlie Sheen is probably bipolar and has taken too many drugs.
The family is in a tough spot, If he was my son, I would have really tried to get a court order and have him committed, but families have little rights with regard to their mentally ill family member. It makes me sick to think all of the media contributed to this frenzy by having him on every show possible.. When Charlie crashes, I hope someone in his family is there to catch him, love him and get him help.
I have never watched the show, but this is a human tragedy.
Who even watches CBS unless it’s the NFL Playoffs or CSI? That show is a lame, laugh-tracked combination of “Who’s the Boss?” and “Full House.” One word for advertisers: TiVo! And we don’t watch the show anyways! And we don’t like advertisers!
Charlie does say some funny things but he is also clearly coming off the rails, both literally and figuratively, and he has not one but TWO creepy and determined gold-digging ex-wives with 2 anchor babies each. That is one expensive bar tab…
He’s gone, good riddance. The show was mediocre at best. If you want to grieve a show let’s grieve the loss of quality, Deadwood, The Wire, Brotherhood or even Terriers. Sheen is a cliche on steroids (and some other stuff) I hope he gets help before he kills himself or, God forbid, someone else.
All he needs is a good writer for Sheen’s Korner. Maybe Chuck Lorre can turn Charlie’s tin cans into gold.
The only people that lose are his co-stars who did nothing to deserve what Sheen did to them. He destroyed their futures. They should sue him!!!
go to rehab dude. you’re nuts!
I thought “charlie” was code for coke. here are the facts, charlie was bud fox in wall street and in the end bud fox went to jail. charlie needs some jail time to snap out of it, very simple, hit rock bottom and the lights go back on. maybe he finally meets his creator, his dad is a devout catholic and no one wants to say it but he’s possessed, we all know it except him. say a prayer for charlie, say a prayer for his ex wives and all women he’s abused, say a prayer for his kids, and lets love him back to health.
But if it’s anything like Wall Street, he’ll then work with the FBI and frame his dealer.
Would someone tell this looser it’s over and would the media please quit prolonging the agony. Maybe if you quit publicizing this fiasco, he’ll go away.
loser*
Why is that word so difficult for so many people to spell?
Looser is what all of the women living with Sheen are.
Sheen’s 5 step process for “winning” 1. get clean 2. Shut your mouth 3. Take the money 4. Stay clean 5. Shut your mouth.
Unless this IDIOT straightens himself out quick, the sooner he OD’s the better the world will be. We need some more IDOLS who’s only claim to fame is needle use and stuffing crap up their noses. The world can do without all of them………
THESE GUYS NEED TO WORK THIS OUT!
The show’s funny and Sheen a real prize now!
The Warlock…LOL
It’s about time! Don’t know what it’s going to take to wake this man up and get him off drugs and back to reality.
Either he has lost it or is crazy like a fox!! The way Hollywood works, he will end up on “The Office” replacing Michael… LOL
Drugs 1, Charlie 0. As far as the rest of us, I don’t have time to watch sitcoms – in fact, I’m not sure why I’m wasting time writing this ditty…. Hard to feel sorry for somebody who clears 2 mil a week – boo hoo
They need to think about putting John Stamos in his role. They don’t need to cancel the show, just Sheen. If he thinks he won by losing what? 1 million each week? or is it 2? …but who’s counting – he’s crazier than everyone thinks.
What I believe is that he is sick, He is an alcoholic that didn’t come to the point where he can accept it. I only hope that he won’t realize to late. I do like the guy and it hurts to see him degrading himself this way.
Two and a half men is a filthy, vile show that glorifies the very behavior that led Sheen off a cliff. His character was a cad who was totally hedonistic and his pursuits, made kids who were allowed to watch the show think his character was the one to emulate, and poked fun at anyone who believes the traditional family is the best way to live. Are you really surprised that Sheen thinks he’s godlike? You treat people who misbehave like their crap doesn’t stink they will eventually believe you.
The only proper example for kids would be the total and utter annihilation of Charlie Sheen. You reap what you sow. See http://www.rightwingagenda.blogspot.com.
I use to love watching Two and a half men but the last couple of yrs it has gotten boring with the same plot lines and now with all the just with Sheen I think it should be over. I am sorry for the rest of the actors and the ppl behind the show that who I feel has lost through no fault of their own.
Sheen was the least interesting player of the cast. He never carried the show except symbolically, so why be worried someone else can’t take his spot? All he did was smirk and give straight lines. It was the scripts and the ensemble cast that made the thing work. Certainly not Sheen. Good riddance.
If your life is so limited that it makes a hairs difference that you won’t be able to see this sad example of humanity perform anymore … ever then you seriously need to get a life.
hahahahahahahahahaha. well done, sheen. well done.
Well done ?…my God the wreck of ex-wives, arrests, CHILDREN…he’s one bender from Toe Tag Lodge. Those kids have no Dad, the current hanger ons will loot the Lodge and lawyers will get the rest. God what a nightmare, Winning??? Human destruction, these are not written characters, this 3rd act is oh so tragic.
Really? Based on what?
Talking sh!t about your employer will must certainly get you fired in most jobs. How about you try and talk negatively about your employer on this blog and leave your real name or facebook page.
Charlie Sheen’s been talking sh!t about his employer? I don’t think that’s right. I would have heard about it. I pay pretty close attention to things.
Dude, you are kidding, right? That is all he has been doing for the last 2 weeks. James Bond is correct, talk about your employer or boss the way he has and you will surely be fired. So, why shouldn’t he.
Would you like one?
I don’t know, guys. Last I heard about him was when he and Courtney Cox broke up. Maybe I’m just confused.
Well I would be mad if my employer told me I could not come back to work on hersay. He drug free, so thier reaction was a over reaction. Demanding he go to rehab when he clearly off the drugs. All he wanted to do was go back to work. If they had proof that he was back on then they would be on right. They were wrong so they are in breach of contract. Simply as that, if they were right thier own lawyers would be handling it. That why they had to hire the big guns. Cause they know they could lose a lot of money if they don’t.
WellOfwords certainly isn’t a ‘well’ of words of any merit.
To be sure you grasp the relevancy of my conjecture I give you this most eloquent prose from the ‘highly’ gifted student of an obvious AMERICAN institute of ‘higher’ ( from the “higher” types of the likes of poor Carlos and those who waste away on useless hubris )
“Well I would be mad if my employer told me I could not come back to work on hersay. Cause they know they could lose a lot of money if they don’t.”
My my.
Momma done sure got her money’s worth on that edumacation!
But the simple idea does fit, altogether too neatly, into my tiny legume sized brain that one who was able to put together such poorly written drivel, that that same magically gifted individual would also believe that her thoughts amount to anything more than the fetid, twisted whispers of the Felchers of Frisco and that when she be da prevident sho nuff thing be change!
And so says all of me.
i don’t think lorre is his “employer” they are both employers of WB. If you follow this from the begining, it was lorre with his vanity cards that started this.
LOSING!!!!!
Duh, winning!!!
lol
*starts slow clap*
*standing ovation*
*Joins you in the slow clap standing ovation*
A good performance deserves the applause even if it comes from a bat shiz crazy mf.
No surprise there.
Winning!
He has been going downhill for quite a while now. Two and a Half Men has lost its appeal. I think the supporting crew is what has kept the show going. In the last year or so, Charlie Sheen has looked creepy and hardly would have you believe that women found him sexy and attractive. A smirky smile on his face and a drink in his hand and this is what is considered a number one show. At one time, I looked forward to Two and a Half Men but the last few months turn to another sitcom. Is he wearing a wig….if so,it looks like he bought it at the Dollar Store.
Winning??? More like WHINING!!!!
Losing.
Now who’s “winning”?
So much for WINNING ….
Saw that coming a mile away.
Maybe he can join the new hosts of CBS Early Show? any other good TV job suggestions for Chuck? A roundtable comic on Chelsea Lately? Run Universal Studios?
Let the lawsuits begin! But, you know what, they did the right thing. He held them
Hostage long enough.
absolutely agree!!
Paging Sandy Duncan!
Or: Paging Heather Locklear!
Paging: Emilio Estevez!
This idea just may make it – Heather Locklear could actually work….
Sure, trade one depressive addict for another.
now thats funny
Nice current reference!
It actually is. Heather Locklear played Alan Harper’s divorce lawyer.
Yeah it is a current reference, get with the picture you big fat loser!
Paging: Somebody’s momma
Good call.
Duh. Douchebag.
Well there’s a shock.
Expect Two and a Half Men with John Stamos to go about 12 episodes before cancellation next year. Thus American television’s full liberation from this mediocrity will be complete.
Yes, I agree on both counts.
Wasn’t everyone ringing the death bell when Simon Cowell was set to leave Idol? And its ratings this season are still strong, especially for a show in its tenth season that has had two major cast changes. While John Stamos is not a great choice to replace Sheen, there are plenty of other possibilities that could shake the show up and probably give it a sustained life beyond Charlie Sheen. Cheers went on for six years after Shelley Long left. And Charlie Sheen prolonged Spin City for two seasons after Michael J. Fox.
How about James Franco (if the man will do General Hospital, why not prime time television)? Or Jason Bateman?
Bateman!
woody harrelson.
but i think they should just pull the plug on the show.
Two & 1/2 was Charlie. Stamos is a wanker, moron with no comedy attached. Lowe – his last name says it all. Charlie does not care since he has enough money between him and his father to buy Malibu. The gig was just for laughs, hot women, and some spending cash. Plus, he could invite all his old friends to come on have fun, party, and make some Vegas spending money.
12 episodes with Stamos, that seems a bit optimistic. A manikin has more personality. I say 6, and only because the producer has a couple of other hit shows.
Well, what goes around comes around. Looks like “winning” just became “losing!” At least Charlie has a major hit on his hands with his web-cast. LOL
“A major hit”? Have you seen any of the shows. They are worse than cable access. A person would need to be high to enjoy those pieces of garbage. And, yes, I’ve watched all three.
Duh! Losing!
Duh… Losing!
I can’t even imagine blowing 48 million a year gig that showcased my marginal talent so perfectly.
Now he’s just fodder for tmz who’s future calls for whoring his insanity to anyone who will pay to film it.
What a fool.
YOU ARE SO RIGHT it hurts.:(
Gee, I wonder if Charlie will have anything to say about this.
Surprised it took so long. What was it, exactly, that WB was still carefully considering? Maybe they wanted to see how his wacky podcast fared before making their final decision.
I imagine they consulted with attorneys over the past couple of weeks before announcing their decision.
It’s about time.
Most straightforward and best comment yet.
Ditto “Boomzilla” and “Esquire”.
Please don’t dignify Sheen’s Korner by calling it a web-series. It’s a USTREAM account, a webcam and an ex-addict.
…except for the ‘ex’ part, you’re on the money.
Ex-addict my foot!
You mean “addict.”
Ex. addict?
No way is he straight.
“Ex” my “Ass”!!!
Ex-addict? There’s no such thing. And Sheen is far from “recovering” or “recovered.” The worst is likely yet to come.
