On NBC’s Today Show this morning, Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen demanded a big raise to $3 million an episode to return to the show. 12 hours and 12 interviews later, Sheen took that back. In an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan, the troubled actor said that “that was stupid.”
He praised Warner Bros.’ decision to pay the crew of Two and a Half Men for the four episodes scheduled to begin production this week but insisted that everyone involved with the show should be paid for all 8 unproduced episodes of the current eighth season. “That’s OK; that’s a start,” he said about the four-episode compensation for the crew. “I’m not going to stop until they give them eight. Then I’m going to work on my cast; then I’m going to finish with me.”
Sheen also was asked if he would apologize to CBS Corp. president and CEO Leslie Moonves for his recent behavior. Sheen said he would but then added: “And then I would ask him, why did you lie to me about the crew in front of … my management team?” Sheen said. “When I said, ‘Guys I can’t be gone too long because I’m worried about the crew, they’ve got families and mortgages.’ … (Moonves) said, ‘Don’t worry about the crew, you have our word’. Him and his partner (Warner Bros.’) Bruce (Rosenblum).”

Ah, sweet gravity.
Hundreds of millions of dollars, kids, will calm any sitch down.*
* at least for two or three hours
…and Charlie breaks. Looks like SOMEONE talked a bit of sense into him. Funny he decides he’ll apologize and backs off his pay demands once it becomes CRYSTAL CLEAR he will never be receiving $1.2 million “per performance” again, EVER, if he keeps this up.
Good man – looks like the sobering up is helping as well.
My client is correct it was stupid to ask for 3 million because I am going to get Charlie 4 million per episode. He’s worth it and he deserves it for all the aggravation they’ve caused him. Winning is what we’re all about now. Not one dime less than 4 mill per show.
You go Charlie’s New Agent. Why settle at $4 million. How about $5 million?
I thought Piers Morgan brought a lot of decency out of the interview. I also think CS is probably Bi Polar, but hey, he was pretty coherent about feeling that that he is bringing the viewers, and that he’s as second class citizen at his own network. He also lives a Satyric existence, and confesses it freely, reminding one and all that his character is pretty well known. It kind a sounds like his employers put up with him, only because he keeps on bringing in pots of gold, but otherwise, his demands for a different work environment, seem to be falling on deaf ears. He’s in a fight for respect from people who can barely stand him.
His challenge for the network execs to have to follow the same regimen he would have to sign in order to remount the show was dead on, they are both on the same team in theory.
I think he has a point or two….
I agree with you. But wait for the smartasses call you Charlie Sheen.
and um, the entire show and character is based on him!
he’s batsh1t crazy and deplorable but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t make a half-good case that Chuck Lorre is a total weasel who’s worth half a billion dollars.
The studio should have had someone running interference between the two of them.
I think it’s funny that at the upfronts an exec was asked if she was worried about Sheen and she said “of course we are, we all are.”
Normal people interpret that as meaning worried about him as a person, that he’s melting down but the
suit translation is: WORRIED THAT THEY ARE GOING TO LOSE MONEY.
Well done,
Not only do you not know what “reneges” means, you don’t know how to spell it. And it’s in the headline, too.
re·nege/ri?neg/
Verb: Go back on a promise, undertaking, or contract
Origin:
1540–50; earlier renegue < Medieval Latin reneg?re, equivalent to re- re- + neg?re to deny ( compare negative)
TJ you are the idiot. The word is not based on the racial slur.
Hank, who said anything about a racial slur? The fact that you thought of that perhaps belies your own line of thinking… Furthermore, TJ was correct, according to the meaning of the word, one can’t “renege” on a demand.
Maybe you should refrain from name-calling in the future, since it appears that you, sir, are the idiot.
Snorted some Charlie Sheen tonight. Think I might’ve raped Grandma, but hey whaddya expect from a Rockstar from Mars? That’s how we roll.
LOL! Kudos, Mortimer Duke! And kudos to you too, Charlie Sheen! I now realize you’re not doing this for yourself at all, but simply taking a huge one for the crew! Bless you! Can your touch heal leprosy and scrofula? If so…
WINNING!!!!
Ah yes, C Sheen, trying to sound like a classy guy by fighting for the crew to be paid. Conveniently forgetting he’s the sole reason they haven’t been paid. Pay them yourself, CS. Because that’s class.
And as long as CBS delivers him his tiger’s blood, his warlock cape, and his Mars Spaceship, Charlie promises to remain sane.
Winning!
How will this affect MEN AT WORK 2?
On interesting clip (I can’t bear to watch any of his interviews in their entirety)had Sheen complaining that he hadn’t gotten any support from the rest of the cast. People tend to focus on the irreparable damage done to Sheen and Lorre’s relationship. I think a bigger issue would be Sheen and his castmates. The entire set will clearly be a toxic environment; and the best thing would be to just cancel the thing and have people move on.
Watched 3 1/2 Men last night as I normally do Monday nights and just couldn’t enjoy it the way I normally do given my increasing dislike of Charlie Sheen (and it was actually otherwise a very funny episode).
It would have made my continued enjoyment of the show so much easier had Sheen simply OD’d.
First of all, get the name of the show right.
Second of all, you’re an idiot.
Sheen is nuts. His face looks more and more like a crack addict.
I found Piers Morgan’ s interview to be ridiculous. He was simply enabling Sheen and sucking up to him.
Sheen is a danger to himself and possibly to others. He’s clearly on a manic tear now but watch for him to go into a depressive episode.
Seen this before and it’s unfortunately only a matter of time before the end comes for him… sadly the best we can hope for is that he doesn’t do a Phil Hartman and take someone else with him when he reaches bottom.
Victoria,
You stupid idiot. PHil Hartman was the victim of his psychotic wife. He did not kill himself or her or anyone else. Get your S*&$ straight when talking about the dead, especially a comedy icon like him. Amazing.
I meant Will, not Victoria, was the stupid idiot. Making me one too, in a way. So apologies to Victoria, and a fresh insult to Will.
He’s got meth face; his ears are way enlarged which is a sign of near death soon, as in Michael Landon before he died; this is axrerun of Anna Nicole , slime media out to exploit with no concern or goodwill , endangering their mark who should be immediately institutionalized ; same for Charlie he is clearly not in charge of his faculties. Just keep airing the sicco like MTV
kept airing a junked up Anna n KNOWING she needed drug help or a jailcell would have kept her alive; ‘knowing’ holds the same legal culpability as ‘the act’ in a criminal assault.
It wasn’t MTV that aired the Anna Nicole decline, it was E!
He needs a babysitter.
Charlie – i knew you once and liked you for your brains and wit but you have lost all my respect with your anti-semitic rant against chuck lorre. i hope les moonves pulls the plug on the show, your career nad i hope you never get another job as long as you live. you are garbage. what you should do is donate all of your poiled brat money to jewish charities and start over as a waiter and start serving people and work for tip in order to gain some perspective. and you should pay your cast what they had coming to them over the next few years in salary and residuals. what a douche bag you have become.
@Megan C:
It’s possible that I missed it, but what exactly did Charlie say about Chuck Lorre that constituted anti-semitism? I remember him referencing Chuck’s birth name, Chaim Levine. But, obviously, calling someone by his name couldn’t possibly be construed as anti-semitism. So, if you could elaborate I’d appreciate it.
Also, regarding the cast (and crew), how is it Charlie’s fault that they’re not getting paid for the unproduced episodes? Throughout the years, Charlie had only missed ONE DAY of work (a rehearsal day, no less, not a taping day) until Chuck, the production company and CBS forced Charlie to go to rehab and shut down production of the show. Sheen has consistently maintained that he is ready, able and willing to resume production immediately.
Now we can argue back and forth about what Charlie has done in his spare time and what kind of a person he is, but that’s all beside the point. The point is that: regardless of his coke binges and his lady friends, Charlie wants to work and is ready to work but he can’t because production remains shut down by people higher on the totem pole than him. Therefore, it should be CBS and Chuck who pay the cast and crew’s salary, not Charlie, since they are the entities who have unilaterally shut the production down.
Hmmmm…. Charlie’s new attorney, perhaps? If so, best of luck brother.
His comments drew criticism as his reference to Chuck Lorre’s Jewish name was part of an angry tirade. Charlie himself (apparently) regrets his words. Not necessarily anti-semitic, but stupid and unnecessary nonetheless (and not helpful in the court of public opinion).
Charlie is a crazed, perpetual troublemaker, whose own irresponsible actions and disregard for his co-stars, crew, and colleagues are THE reasons for the show’s shut-down. While he may have been “ready and willing” to return to work, he’d created an irreparably toxic environment. It should be noted that if he’d stayed clean and out of trouble as many of us do, he wouldn’t have had to take a leave of absence to begin with. Going to rehab was one (necessary and understandable) thing, and at the time he had the empathy and support from execs — but why he ungratefully spun that scenario out of control and disrespected his peers (including those who’ve provided him with very gainful employment) defies comprehension. He SHOULD pay the crew.
“Anonymous”, are you NUTS? Have you not seen ANY of the promos or interviews making their rounds around the net and on TV? He looks like a DRUG ADDICT – he is not camera ready, and make-up cannot hide a GAUNT face. He does not look as he did 6 months ago.
He says he will sober up and that appears to be the case, per two drug tests that he took over the past couple of days. But until he AT LEAST looks like the actual character again, he CANNOT WORK.
A typical actor will assume hair and make-up is magic and it can do anything. He is not looking at the big picture here, but then again how would one expect him to?
Also, please note that when it comes to insurance there is a certain window that one must pass with negative test results before any cancelled or endangered policies can be completely restored.
It does not help that he is now saying that he would refuse to participate in weekly drug tests, which would possibly expedite an end to this situation and get the show going again.
BOOM. Winning.
@Megan C
You’re not goddess material. Sorry.
What did Michael Jackson try to say?
Charlie Sheen questions Obama about 9/11
despite AIPAC controlled media censorship.
Mel Gibson does not play dumb about 9/11 either.
Not all of us are coming back… Be smart… Mr God Man
Well Charlie you ain’t a god so u don’t get no goddess. U freakshow. U get skanked. Hahahahahshaha goddess what a freakshow hahahahaha he thinks he gets goddessed hahahahsgsg
u freak
Here in Flyover: “It would have made my continued enjoyment of the show so much easier had Sheen simply OD’d.”
I see. You want him dead so you can enjoy a TV show. Next time I hear about how the “flyover” states are morally superior, avatars of bedrock American values, I’ll think of you. Glenn Beck’s farts have more moral authority than you, and he’s certifiably insane.
Good for Charlie to fight back and not be a push over! His personal life should be respected, especially when it doesn’t affect his work! To pull the plug on him like that was about power, control, intimidation tactics….he absolutely should push back! He has a kind and generous heart as a person, so he has some problems with substance abuse, like no one else in the industry drink or do drugs:) ” For he who has not sinned, shall cast the first stone!”. I think the democrats called CBS and told them to f— Charlie….I hope he wins, and he’s strong for standing up for himself after being publicly humiliated like that! Please with the ego and control and oppression! Charlie should stay sober and clean for himself though , but not for anyone else! God bless him!
how nice Charlie proably figured that cbs would not pay 3 million to him after all he has done espically costing them money for the show. plus nice Charlie is finaly thinking of the people his actions put out of work too bad he does not give up his million dollar salary to them also. and take a pay cut of say a grand. charlie is just trying to do so image polishing. and save face
