The star of the HBO comedy said during the show’s panel at PaleyFest last night that the raunchy but strangely addictive series’ third season, which is filming now, will be its last. There’s been no official word from HBO on the series’ future since renewing it for Season 3 back in October, though today the network said it wants the show to stick around as long as McBride and company (producers include Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions) want to do it.

I like McBride but this show got real old real fast. Time to put in something new on Sunday nights. Hear he’s fantastic in 30 Minutes or Less.

I think it’s a good idea to wrap things up early. Kenny’s story needs to be as succinct and focused as possible.
They have a real opportunity to solidify this show as one of the all-time greats, and a strong final chapter would do just that, imo.
I was at this last night. While the cast was pretty funny, the host was awful, as bad as you can imagine. She asked the lamest questions and acted as though she was above it all

Mark, you’re a fool. This show is exactly the kind of humor that people are interested in these days, and this show is absolutely hilarious. It just goes to show that there are so many different kinds of humor out there, from smart and subtle (Bored to Death) to smart and crazed (East Bound) to smart and perceptive (Curb). Oh my, they’re all on HBO!

If I’m a plant then HBO is a bit behind on their payments to me. Been praising EB&D since it started.

I always thought he quality over quantity approach worked really well for this show. The first season is a classic and should be required viewing for anybody who says they like comedy. The second season, while coming up short compared to the 1st, was still pretty good and produced an ending I think most people are interested in seeing find it’s resolution. I admire the balls Hill and McBride have to walk away from a hit project so soon but I feel that, ultimately, it’s the right move for Penny Powers to make his exit while on top.

C’mon, Danny! What else are you going to do, more Land of the Lost? Don’t say this is the end! I agree with whomever stated the 1st season was better than the 2nd. But a return to the states and more of the hometown people would help return it to the first season glory.
And “strangely addictive” is the perfect description for this show.
Good move. They’ve always said this is three acts. Season two is nothing but a big second act. I think part three will be tight and they can move onto the next one.
They shoulda stopped at one season.
I was a die hard fan, but told others not to tune in for Season Two after it failed miserably.
Along with Curb Your Enthusiasm one of the few funny shows on television; how anybody could find this unfunny is beyond me, i’ll take Eastbound over the overrated 30 Rock any day
It’s not filming, they’ve just started writing. And the creators have said in countless interviews that they intended the show to end after 3 seasons and that they consider it a trilogy.

This show is by far one of the best comedies ever! I know many people that can relate i’n every aspect of the show. From teacher to ball player and funny as hell person! I hope it keeps going strong for many more seasons.
I luv the show, and I’ve been a fan since episode one. There’s nothing out there like it and I hope it comes back & stays. Fan 4 life…

Kenny Powers is a god!! East Bound and Down is the best show since All in The Family, and Kenny is the best character since Archie Bunker. If you did not laugh at this show you have no sense of humor. HBO please bring it back for more.
3rd season finale was awesome. If it had ended after the speech and before we know for sure that Kenny faked his death…. It would have been the greatest series finale ever. That said, I’m glad their coming back. This show is on par with Taxi, Cheers and Always Sunny !!!!
I love Danny, EBAD was awesome anyone who didn’t think so is totally retarded! I laughed so hard thru all 3 seasons and would be delighted if the show would continue! Or they produce something all together new , either way that show was one of HBO best, that was the only reason I kept HBO seriously ….
