EXCLUSIVE: Former Nip/Tuck star Dylan Walsh has been tapped as the male lead opposite Poppy Montgomery in CBS’ untitled Ed Redlich/John Bellucci pilot. The project, which will be directed by The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo helmer Niels Arden Oplev, centers on Carrie Wells (Montgomery), a former detective and now a volunteer at a nursing home. She possesses the special ability to remember everything, which turns out to be a gift and a curse. Walsh will play Detective Al Burns, the chief of a crack team of NYPD detectives. Back in Syracuse, Al worked with Carrie, the best cop he’d ever met and the love of his life. However, Carrie’s unique ability effectively destroyed their relationship. Now engaged to another woman, Al runs into Carrie when her neighbor is murdered outside their apartment building and eventually enlists her as an expert “consultant” for the department. The setup and dynamic between the characters is reminiscent of that between Simon Baker’s Patrick Jane and Robin Tunney’s Teresa Lisbon on CBS’ The Mentalist. Walsh signed on for the Redlich/Bellucci pilot after fielding multiple offers. The project hails from CBS TV Studios, Sony TV and Timberman/Beverly Prods. It reunites Walsh with CBS, the two studios and producers Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly. Last year, Walsh starred in the CBS drama pilot The Line, from Sony TV and Timberman/Beverly. Earlier this development season, he was attached to an FBI drama project for CBS from CBS TV Studios and Timberman/Beverly. Walsh, repped by Gersh and manager Bob McGowan, recently starred in Secretariat.

Geez…Maybe Carrie can remember where she put her magical cape and get 10 episodes?
Dylan Walsh !!! What a great choice ? That’s why CBS is on top, they know how to pick them,he was great in ( stepfather). He played a hard noise cop in brookylan south , years ago, and Last year in the CBS pilot the line
ok, how many offers did he really get and for what? I dont remember hearing his name come up for anything this pilot season…
Gersh pulled a rabbit out of the hat at the last minute and Bob McGowan got lucky again
Ah show business spin
Color me so un-inspired by this. Another cop show, a plot that’s too complex, and the wrong mix of actors. I predict one season and a graceful fade-away. This is no Burn Notice.
He has the look to be a cop but aren’t we all getting a bit sick of the seemingly endless cops series these people keep throwing at us. It is a safe choice though for a channel like CBS (the old peoples network), i mean look at NCIS…. That show is not that good (although i do enjoy it) and it is getting 16-22 million viewers which is pretty sick..
On second thought, Mark Harmon is just cool enough to be worthy 19 million viewers on average a week
The new show Chaos looks Burn Notice-ish. April 1
Wait a second what is going on with his arm hair? Why does he only have hair below the elbow?
Yeah. This guy got lucky. I heard that max martini was getting this part. I like Dylan (he was awesome on Nip/Tuck) though the arm hair thing is weird!
Nancy Ditoro aren’t you married to the manager? lol:)
Mrs McGowan you are dumber than I thought.
