R.I.P. Elizabeth Taylor
Pete Hammond Recalls Elizabeth Taylor’s Complicated Dance With Oscar
TMZ has the death certificate, which reveals that Elizabeth Taylor will be laid to rest this afternoon at Forest Lawn in Glendale, in a private funeral service. The L.A. Times reports that she will be buried at the cemetery’s Great Mausoleum, where the likes of her friend Michael Jackson, Clark Gable and Jean Harlow also rest. Taylor died Wednesday at age 79.

There are no proper words to describe the impact and the loss of this performer. La Liz was beyond trend and beyond characterization. She was a true cultural icon whose legend didn’t ‘benefit’ from her having died young.
What a sad week it has been. Liz was the best – we’ll all miss her.
May Elizabeth rest in peace. Met her recently at my dentist’s office, of all places, and felt so lucky!! Even in her wheelchair with oxygen attached, she was the brightest, shining, most smiling soul in the room. Her strength & spirit was indefatigable. This quote, to me, sums up her life best: “What matters most is how well you walk through the fire” ~ Charles Bukowski
Rest in Peace, Dame Elizabeth Taylor.
And for those leaving tributes, Dame Elizabeth did not like being called Liz.
I met Elizabeth Taylor at the Palace Theater when I worked behind the concession with my
Dad. He turned to me and said “Why is she so special she is just an old broad” She was standing in front of him and replied ” you are so right, give me a white wine” We all laughed. She was so beautiful
May she resst in Peace Baruch Hashem

One of the last Great “Golden Years” Actresses we farewell ! A true classic Jewel in the Actor’s Crown ! May God be with Her !!!
She was the best, never taking herself to seriously, something we and all of young Hollywood should learn from.
Have fun in Heaven with Mike and Richard!
When I was a little girl, my father was working for Metro Goldwyn Mayer in distribution. He took me to the premier in Jacksosnville, Florida of Cleopatra and I knew at that young age she was far from ordinary. I loved her in National Velvet, and yet I seem to recall her as a tiny waif in Orson Well’s Film Jane Erye as the little girl who had to stand in the rain as punishment and then died. She couldn’t have been 5 years old. I am 58 and I have loved her from the first. I will miss her till the last
“THE REAL CLEOPATRA”
I was shocked when I heard that she had died. Then I realized it was because I always thought of her as young and beautiful. And now, thanks to her movies, she will always be young and beautiful.
