Warner Bros TV just released the first image of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman in the studio’s drama pilot for NBC about the popular superhero, written and executive produced by David E. Kelley. You can compare her look with that of Lynda Carter from the 1970s series. 
The cast of the reboot, which was a last-minute pilot pickup from new NBC entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt in January, includes Cary Elwes, Tracie Thoms, Pedro Pascal and Elizabeth Hurley as a guest star.

I don’t think the costume is that far off base from the original. I DO think that any super-hero running around in it fighting crime all day might have a bit more of a tan! What’s with the pale-white skin? Does she save the world via computer in Batman’s basement???
Thumbs down on the outfit. WW should never wear pants. Get with the times. Have you seen a recent music video; WW today should be in Lynda’s out fit with much less material. Bottoms should be cut thigh high & the top showing mid riff.
Adrianne, you might be ok as WW but posing you against the classic Lynda Carter may not have been wise.
Lynda Carter owned that WW role…not to mention that classic costume – priceless.

She’s a lovely girl; but this is a bad choice.
It’s all about showing she has implants. Her breasts are separate with shelves above them. Her hair is way too big and looks like a country western wig.
The materials the outfit is made of look cheap and the actress looks uncomfortable wearing the outfit.
Some porn/hooker loving men must have approved this costume cause it’s 12 kinds of terrible. They clearly like fake boobs and spandex.
I love that this is Warner Brothers idea of a role model for girls. Tells you everything about WBTV and the men in charge.

I was thinking the same thing, except I thought she looked like a stripper at Halloween. This is awful. If they wanted to change the outfit why didn’t they go for a darker blue ala spiderman? And leather at that, and I just don’t like WW wearing pants and I’m a woman. This plastic around her boob implants? What? Alllll kinds of bad. They didn’t have the budget to get real metal for her breast plate? this is all kinds of fug

And…I’m no teabagger, but when I saw the red star on the eagle, the first thought I had was a communist symbol over the heart of an American symbol. To the costume designer…semiotics…look into it.
WOW really u wanna compare the showing off way more skin and putting her cleavage on front street to covered legs and a push up brazier, and as far as the hair goes umm you need to take another look at lynda carters hair its way bigger. As far as role models go u obviously have no idea what any of today’s comic book hero’s look like cuz the new wonder women is spot on in comparison to all the current female heroes, tight spandex either bright or dark colors and cheap looking material.

Good that they went for the proper strapless bustier, full breastplate and high heels — and general lack of clutter and accessories… plus the hair is a naturalistic style and color. The silhouette evokes WW.
But the materials are alarming – - shiny vinyl, really? Looks like cheap hooker interpretation from Halloween store. And the clunky molded plastic-looking overcomplicated design and construction of the belt (what is that pattern?), breastplate and stuck-on boot tops is just wrong. Tiara design is also awkward.
I would replace this belt with the simple, classic style, lose the golden boot tops, make the boots traditional red, replace the tiara with larger classic crown shape, lose the star in the middle of the eagle breastplate (eye distracting), sprinkle stars of varied sizes across the leggings and rework the materials to look less plastic, more soft and naturally textured.

Yep – the shot looks like an unmotivated model striking an uninspired pose while wearing a cheap costume in an ad for a pop-up Halloween store that’s take over a shuttered retail location. Yawn.

I live with two other comic readers and we all had the same horrified reaction of “oh god!” and “she looks like a drag queen”. Whoever designed this should be fired immediately.
It’s unfortunate they picked a bustier that shows off her implants — seems like something a little more natural-looking wouldn’t have been too hard to come up with, and would’ve avoided the whole vaguely porn-y look she’s working in this pic. Isn’t WW supposed to be a role model for young girls?
