There was some news at the Glee PaleyFest panel tonight. Here are a few highlights, courtesy of our sister site TVLine, which has full coverage:
Glee co-creator/executive producer Ryan Murphy said that he’s making plans for Gwyneth Paltrow, who is set to appear in one more episode, her third, this season, ”to come back next year.” “Gwyneth is sort of the muse of the show,” Murphy said. “She’s somebody who I write on the weekends and say, ‘What do you think about this for an episode even if you’re not in it?’ She has opinions. She’s great.”
Murphy also said that the show’s creators had long wanted to do an episode devoted to an album as opposed to an artist. They will now do it with Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors for an episode now in the works.
Additionally, Murphy confirmed that Kristin Chenoweth’s April Rhodes will return this season, and she’ll sing the Glee original, “It’s 10 am, I’m Drunk.”

I’d like to watch a Glee with a retro them, featuring the music of The Fugs, Holy Modal Rounders, Mothers of Invention, and Bonzo Dog Band.
theme
Glee is morally and ethically unacceptable.
Glorification of homosexuality, which is a filthy, disease-ridden practice explicitly condemned by God, is wrong.
Haha, im so sorry for your soul, i will meet you in hell. get an education and inform yourself white trash.
Sheeyah, sure. That’s gonna happen right after the episode featuring the music of Einsturzende Neubaten, Sonny Sharrock, Diamanda Galas, The Mentors, and the Swans.
I would totally watch either of those.
Also, the all-Sondheim episode, esp. Brittany doing “Getting Married Today.”
Also, the all-Led Zeppelin episode.
And the vocalese episode wherein the cast interprets “Airegin,” “Lonely Woman,” “In Walked Bud” and “Relaxin’ at Camarillo.”
Please you did’nt say Led Zeppelin????? Glee would screw up the Zep legacy. Horrible idea HORRIBLE
Only in the spirit of “themes that Glee would never feature in a billion years, but would be interesting to consider as incongruous pairings of repertory and performers.”
Glee is on a steadily decreasing downward spiral (assuming it was ever any good to begin with). Its stars would do well to maximise what they can now because I predict it will be all over this time next year.
So does this mean she’s given up her acting career? (let’s hope)
Yay Kristin Chenoweth’s back! As for the album episode, I hope they do it like a musical where it’s part of the story rather than the characters just singing the songs for class. Because that would just be a waste of songs, in my opinion. I like Gwyneth Paltrow’s character, but I think she’s making too many appearances. I mean why not just make here a main character already? I’m glad Terri’s back in April. I miss Terri.
That “forget you” song she sang, which i just saw on youtube, is the ugliest cultural product since Welthauptstadt Germania. Even the Maoists didn’t go in for this sort of thing. Children are allowed to view this relentless agitprop?

Children are allowed to view this relentless agitprop?
Yes, Mr Drudge-Troll. Just like we allow them to attend NRA camps with special mascot Eddie The Eagle.
Uh…you are clearly NOT the audience for this show. So watch something else. Many find it inspirational.
Why?
Yeeeeech. On both primadonna gwenick and cheno ick. Stinkholes.
They’re both actually incredibly kind, bright and talented women. Take it somewhere else.
i wish that glee would go back to it’s first 13 episodes and do those kinds of storylines — the show is becoming more and more about the singing and less storyline — the first 13 episodes had secrets and of course the revelations, there was more character development and the songs actually had to do with the current story and not the other way around. They have since improved since the first of this season but it’s still not enough, there are no continuing storylines.
You want to go back to Will’s awful divorce/fake baby story, the teen pregnancy love-triangle, and the creepy engagement between Emma and the football coach? No thank you! Half of the first 13 episodes had awful, awful stories and were barely watchable. I think what you mean is you miss the focus on character, which most people do. The character stories are better now, they’re just frequently drowned out by the stunts.
It appears the show is only for homosexuals.
i finally caught the last 3 episodes of glee, and i have to say they’re as bad what i’ve read in the reviews. yes, even the one with g. paltrow which was getting so much hate.
Yeeeech 2/
it’s regarding their public persona. They come off as selfabsorbed entitled elitists.
I thought everyone stopped being high for five minutes and realized that Fleetwood Mac sucks. I guess not Murphy n co. They already sang mudslide and I’m pretty sure no one on the glee club can play guitar like Lindsey, so what’s left?
Why did Glee stop even trying to tell stories? There is no plot anymore, it’s just one musical number after another, interspersed with snarky, and sometimes clever, dialogue. They should use some of that licensing money to hire a writing staff.
Sondheim episode sounds great +++ how about a Sinatra Show?
Being a fan of the Monk show and frequent poster on that Board, Glee has only just started to be aired in Japan and though I was taken back somtimes by the ventilation of what I felt was unfair ridicule in some postings about the program, actors and one actress especially, the above reaches a new level.
