Oh good. A god taken down by a taser.
Thor is powerless without his belt and mjolnir.
Yeah…can someone explain that taser moment? It’s been a long time since I’ve actually read comics, but I thought Thor was supposed to be ‘god like’.
This. My thoughts exactly. This is going to suck, but it’s going to get my money. Oh Hollywood, you know who you have as your bitch.
couldnt have said it better myself. i’m a slave to the comics so i’ll give it a watch. can’t…help…myself…aaargh!
This is going to suck, and it’s not going to get my money.
With this and that inane ‘Your Highness,’ – Natalie Portman’s Oscar is beginning to seriously look like a completely random fluke.
Was Hemsworth just so bad they didn’t even try to make him change his accent?
Superdope. God, I love Natalie’s voice…
This movie is going to be a big flop and it’s a shame because Thor is a great comic book character. Unfortunately he’s not that well known and he’s too otherworldly. The best comic book heroes are humans who suddenly gain their super powers (Spider-Man, Iron Man, Green Lantern, Fantastic Four, Batman never had super powers just super gadgets. Superman was from another planet but he grew up in Kansas and Clark Kent was a very ordinary guy who just happened to be super powerful. Thor has a fatal flaw in the marketplace because he’s a fallen god his backstory is just too bizarre. I’m sorry to be writing this because I want the movie to do well but I just don’t see it happening and it’s nobody’s fault except Marvel’s this was one property they should have kept in print.
Philistine. Jesus, give it a rest. It’s your dumb opinion, and you’re clearly not the demo for it. Why don’t you just wait and see how it does? People like you bitch about everything. If it’s not complaining about how it’s not an original story, you say people won’t like the “otherworldliness” and site your subjective opinion on best superheroes. Some people may like that it’s something different.
I think you’ve judged the film wrong on so many counts.
I predict a hit similar to Iron Man, we’ll see whose right by the end of May
This is the dumbest thing I’ve read all week.
“fatal flaw in the marketplace…”
Thou art a tool.
Thor will be lucky to break even after foreign money comes in. It’ll be a big hit in Norway Sweden Finland Denmark Iceland possibly some other European countries. It could even make a small profit but it’s not a franchise and it’ll be quickly forgotten. They spent way too much on it. If they had been able to make it for half what they spent they’d be in good shape.
Nonsense… this looks fun.
OK. So maybe it won’t be God awful. Just awful.
Is that a stick-on beard or did he comb his pubes northward?
Please pay particular attention to how stupid of a joke that was, ladies and gentlemen.
Discuss the movie/scene and keep your 9th grade jokes to yourself.
why would they ever release this clip? it looks lame. not funny at all. not epic at all. Thor getting taken down by a taser?!? This movie is going to tank. I feel so bad for natalie. what is it with these best actress winners and the months immediately following their win? Julia Roberts had Ben Bratt leave her 3 weeks later. Sandra Bullock had Jesse James. And now Natalie with Your Highness and this piece of garbage. It’s like that award is the tiki doll from the Brady Bunch.
He’s taken down by a Taser because he’s been cast to Earth and stripped of his powers.
He know as to learn humility and become worthy of Mjöllnir once more to regain is powers (preferably just in time for the third act).
It looks to me like they have to tone right to gain the target audience, i.e. non-comic fans
I laugh at the promotional material released for this movie and not in the way the filmmakers intend for me to laugh at it. It just looks stupid.
I’m in love with that sidekick girl. Looks like she is the most fun and interesting character in the whole movie. Maybe the humor can save that movie.
Yeah, Kat Dennings is the bomb! I find her so much more attractive than Ms. Portman here.
“What? He was freaking me out!”
Fun scene, imo. And, yes, Thor is powerless without his hammer. Not to mention he’s just fallen, like, a million miles from Asgard.
That’s what they thought (hoped) about Green Hornet, too. Uhhhh… no.
I think it’s fantastic how people can judge a movie based on a trailer or two and a relatively benign scene. Who the hell knows for sure if it’s going to be good or not? None of you dopes.
Natalie. Please. Take a vacation. Maternity leave, even. You don’t have to be in every film ever made. Really.
Read the original Mark Protosevich script. It’s good. Like Lord of the Rings, almost. The problem is that they’ve bastardized that story to bring the action into modern day Earth just so they can shoehorn the character into an Avengers movie. That’s why the end result looks less like Lord of the Rings and more like Masters of the Universe.
Kat Dennings can taser me anyday. lol
Part of me is really looking forward to Thor and part of me is cringing at the thought of some of the over the top set pieces and doubtless hammy dialogue.
More Kat Dennings, please!
He thinks HE’S Thor. I can barely thit down!
So, Is this movie supposed to be intentionally corny?
If you see this movie, you are part of the problem.
Ah, I love the Internet – where everyone’s an expert (and everyone’s a whiner).
The clip was funny, and the movie looks pretty good from everything I’ve seen so far. Love the character, and I’m optimistic the movie will deliver.
This will make money. And kudos to the cast and the casting. I will see it in the theater.
Chill people. It looks fun and well-made. Perfect summer movie.
meh.
