The film Attack the Block makes its debut at South By Southwest at a March 12 midnight screening. It is produced by Edgar Wright and first-time director Joe Cornish (who worked with Wright on Tin Tin) and has an ensemble cast that features Nick Frost. Here is the new trailer:

STEVEN!
Just coming!
#126 of the alien invasion movies and tv series with another 249 in production…..
well….at least that’s only half the amount of zombie and vampire movies…..
sighs….
A novel twist in the alien invasion concept. Like the “Why would they invade south london?” – “if looking for fat”. I think the South by Southwest crowd will love.
I think the phrase was “It’s looking for a fight.”
Looks brilliant!!!! cant wait…
Hoodies vs. Aliens
I’d watch it
I really do love Edgar Wright and Nick Frost, but Black British kids versus a glow in the dark alien? Who the hell is gonna watch that – at least here in America? I dont think Americans even believe there are black kids in the UK. Not to mention, he just DID an alien movie which actually looks funny that’s about to come out. I don’t get it. Sorry.
Perhaps, just perhaps, this British movie was made not just for American audiences? Maybe the other 95% of the world population might like it.
It’s not an American film.
There are other countries that make movies for the people that live in those countries.
So only movies with black characters in stereotypical roles should be shown in the U.S. to continue to reinforce those stereotypes? Should people’s minds not be opened to the fact that blacks live everywhere and can have a variety of experiences just like white people do? Did you believe a black President of the United States was possible? Open your mind.
i think he says ‘one that’s looking for a fight’
Not sure why the vast majority of films featuring black leads have to live in the ghetto, be sports related, or an musician. Interesting concept for a film and it looks funny. However, it would have been better and reached a broader audience if marketed as a regular kids version of ghostbusters. Instead of ghetto kids saving the world.
This reminds me of a Michael Bay interview regarding Transformers 2 where he said something along the lines of he created those stepin fetchit type robots for the kids. I’m like who’s kids?
Ron Mexico should watch the trailer again and note that the inner city “hoodies” and residents are a multicultural bunch.
“Ghetto kids” aren’t “regular kids”?
No Boggins?
This looks amazing–Fresh, funny, different from everything Hollywood is putting out. I can’t wait to see it. Why do commenters constantly complain that movies are all retreads of the same stale subjects & cliches, then just radically miss the point when something like this turns up?
Because this is a retread. What is the point exactly, please do tell sir mike. Edgar Wright fan here, but this looks pretty bad.
Joe of Adam and Joe. Should be good.
And yes, there are films (not movies) made for people who live outside the USA. Some of them are better for it.
