There’s a new trailer for Last Night, the Massy Tadjedin-directed relationship drama about what happens when a married couple is separated, and tempted by others. The film stars Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, Eva Mendes and Guillaume Canet. Last Night made its debut at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.

Finally, a movie for adults about real adults. Looks intriguing.
Looks incredibly boring and absolutely awful.
I stopped reading at “Eva Mendes.” I can’t stand her, especially in a romantic movie. I’m not sure what her deal is, but she makes the term “cold fish” seem like an understatement.
Another movie about how miserable it is to be married? Any adult movie that doesn’t require cheating on your loved one?
hahaha. I was thinking the same thing. Pass pass and pass.
Did you see any cheating in the trailer?
Beautiful.
Looks like a real yawnfest
Finally, a movie for adults about real adults who will either act like spoiled children or not.
Absolutely nothing new here. Unless there’s more to the trailer, then this is just another ONE NIGHT STAND type story. This got made. HOW?!?!
Yes this got made because it’s a beautiful movie. Can’t wait to see it. The trailer is absolutely wonderful. Looks like a very interesting movie. At least the actors and actresses are real. Not computer generated and not violent.
This looks like a winner!
*cough*
Sam and friends. It’s likely that you’re not as intelligent as you’ve been led to believe.
This is exactly the type of self-indulgent drama that actors love to make but that 99% of the public doesn’t want to watch, especially in a theatre for 2 hours. Who do they expect to come see this? A few miserable divorcees? Maybe. Couples? Hell no, worst date movie ever. Singles, teens, seniors, African-Americans, Latinos, etc? Nope, not even close. Maybe a few unhappily-married individuals will sneak off to watch it solo, but this will bomb… even if it’s well executed.
Actually I am a single African-American woman and it looks intriguing to me. I like dramas that make you think and reflect what can really happen in life. Sometimes it’s good to see your life played out on screen, even if it’s not necessarily yours. It’s always good to see adults dealing with adult situations and not another fart-joke laden kid’s movie or shoot-em-up blow things up action movie. Please let us have something before you dismiss it altogether!
A friend of mine downloaded a high-def version… and deleted it after the first ten minutes. For me it’s simple, anything with Eva Mendes is not worth watching.
You should turn your friend into the authorities for breaking the law.
Good thing everyone is incredibly attractive. I can really relate to this.
This looks terrible!
Middle-brow blase’ yuppy bs!
This trailer is misleading — I saw it and it is actually a HILARIOUS comedy of manners — one of the wittiest, uproarious films I’ve seen in years, I had to check to make sure it wasn’t a Richard Curtis film. I don’t understand why they’re making a pilot to make it look like Closer or something. Hopefully they’ll recut a new trailer and show what a great comedy they have on their hands!
A Richard Curtis film?! Thanks for the warning.
And it’s rated R… for language! Couple f– words and young actors feigning middle-age regret. Boring.
I’ve seen it, it was OK, nothing spectacular. The biggest problem was the casting : Knightley and Canet were spot-on, they had chemistry and they played their parts rather well. Worthington and Mendes were the weak links : no chemistry, no quality acting. I’m not ruling out these two surprising me one day, but they have try harder.
To all you armchair critics of “Last Night”…
Do you know how damn hard it is to put out a film WITHOUT guns, shooting, fiery explosions, hitmen, drug dealers, and all the other violent garbage that stinks up 75% of the films?
What the fuck else left can one film except couples shit.
So “Last Night’s” plot’s been done before-maybe even better…BFD.
EVERY possible boy-girl, couples, married affairs, plot’s been done before.
Romantic comedy/dramas can’t help but appear derivative. So what.
Sure, there’s got to be cheating in a marriage.
Who the hell wants to pay $10 to watch a happily married pair of couples so much in love that their eyes-and genitals-never stray?
Romantic dramadies are a business, not a Master’s thesis in marraige counseling.
You try to punch up a little twist on couples shit, add some new & improved dialog, then roll the dice and cast some attractive 20-35 something couples, hoping to make bank on your investment.
“Last Night” ain’t going for the Oscar. From the trailer, it’s a 90 minute pleasant couples romp targeting 18-35 year female demo and their dates, but…
NOT 18+ guys, most of whom have little or no experience with mature, adult relationships and their inherent problems, and who are positively repelled by any adult non-violent themed movies, mainly because couples romcoms usually don’t involve killing, car chases, and big red flaming explosions.
I could watch Knightley and Canet flirt with each other for hours. Two beautiful and talented actors – and I love the accents. I like Eva Mendes – why the hate for her? She’s a very talented and capable actress, but sometimes she is miscast. The jury is still out on Sam Worthington. Either way, can’t wait to see this film.
first good movie i saw in year 2011. go watch it and support quality movies!
Wow, so many haters. Saw the film — it’s excellent. Smart writing, beautifully shot, great performances and relevant subject matter. Thoughtful and truthful. Please don’t bash movies that are about adults and for adults. There are so few movies like that now that can get made. Glad this one exists. We need more smart movies that have something to say. Sick of all the mindless crap out there.
Saw the film too– it is excellent. One of the best films I’ve seen so far this year.
