To the Golden Age Hollywood defenders above . . .
Actually, Billy Wilder’s first film as director, THE MAJOR AND THE MINOR/’42, isn’t all that different from a HANGOVER type of movie. Tastes and censorship have changed radically, coarsened if you insist, but the film is all about a young woman who lies herself into an impossible comic situation and spends an increasingly uncomfortable/desparate wknd trying to get herself out of the fix, finally resolving iself romantically.
The film isn’t as well remembered as other Widler films, but it’s pretty hilarious (with Ginger Rogers, Ray Milland & a line-up of Veronica Lake wannabees). And didn’t Jerry Lewis do a crap remake of it?
Wilder might or might not have liked HANGOVER, but he certainly would have ‘got’ it.
And as for this new trailer . . . confidentially, it stinks!
Whoever doesn’t think this is funny needs to go away.
Ken Jeong is only good in very small doses. he is the only bad cast member in “Community,” and now he has an expanded role in “Hangover 2.” We lose.
Shouldn’t this be titled “Hangover 2: Bangkok Dangerous”?
Derivative AND funny. Entirely OK with that. If I feel the need to not enjoy a trip to the theater I’ll go see Larry Crowne.
To paraphrase the majority:
“Oh my God the Hangover 2 Trailer looks just like the first one. That’s so stupid”
Their not trying to reinvent the wheel here guys, just banking on the same characters and setup that made the first so successful. What were you expecting Hangover 2, to look like a David Fincher film?
Exactly. What was everyone expecting? The first one made a shit ton of money, they’re using the EXACT same characters, and it’s called the Hangover…2! Of course it’s going to be the same schtick. Why is everyone surprised?
Those aren’t really excuses to be lazy.
I found the first one merely OKAY. This had me laughing the whole time. Looks like they ramped up the absurdness to cartoonish proportions. It’s obviously self-aware of the retread people…
Yup, that’ll do. Now I don’t even have to think about seeing the actual movie.
meh…. its repetitive. I don’t wanna comment more until i see the movie… hope this one is funny as well
They have sick music in the first one and it looks like the soundtrack is looking good for this one too.
I hate everything in life, and since this falls under that category, I hate it. And I hate you for reading this and I hate myself most of all.
I’m no ethnographer but I’m pretty sure Korea isn’t Thailand. If they’re going to cast a “hot asian chick” who can’t act can they at least get one from the right country?
Will never understand his appeal.
