Papa Smurf is a pimp
just when it looked like Yogi Bear claimed the crown as the worst live action animation mix along comes this….
and do they really think that parents want these suggestive jokes as if that makes it easier to sit through with their kids??
For all of the talent that’s involved, that looked dreadful.
but it’s in 3D!!! 3D makes it good!! *puke*
smurfette’s skirt rising ala marilyn monroe — really? way to make a family film. stay classy sony because my kids are not seeing this.
My kids won’t be seeing this either.
This looks god awful. Which means that it should make a killing at the box office!
All kidding aside *not really*, there’s something about the Smurfs being in a modern setting that is an overall turn off. They would have been better off making this film completely CG and setting it in a fantasy world.
What a wasted opportunity.
Avatar, Jr.
Aren’t there supposed to be 100 Smurfs + Smurfette? Where’s the rest of them? And how did they magically transport themselves from medieval Europe to modern day NYC?
the animation looks smurfing terrible
It would be absolutely impossible to make a Smurf adaptation look any worse. Why did they have to make it all modern?
I will wait for the porno parody “This Ain’t The Smurfs XXX”
I normally hate those live-action/animated movie hybrids, but this one actually looks really funny!
you couldnt be more obvious
my favorite part is when they used “smurf” as a vaguely naughty word. five times. the height of wit. Sorkin, watch your back; there’s a new sheriff in town.
For reference:
“Where the Smurf are we?”
“Let’s Smurf this joint?”
“Let’s get the Smurf out of here?”
“I think I just Smurfed in my mouth.”
“Alright, who Smurfed?”
Question: Why would The Smurfs themselves use “Smurf” as a catchall expletive? Are they just super meta Smurfs? Or is that the people who made this movie are witless morons?
Also, way to directly associate your smurfing brand with the words “fart,” “puke,” and “fuck.”
Idiots.
Did you even watch ONE minute of the cartoon? If you had, you would know that they do that ALL.THE.TIME!!!
Not in something like twenty years. Consider me educated.
But leaning on that dumb not-even-a-joke five times in a single trailer still reeks.
this looks about as good as Garbage Pail Kids the Movie… or Jerky Boys the movie.
I had a good chuckle from the Scottish smurf. Looks so silly but fun. The kids will love it.
This somehow tarnishes my childhood.
Transformers… GI Joe… The Smurfs…
IS NOTHING SACRED???
None of those shows could possibly have been improved upon. They were all so good the first time around.
You left off Scooby-Doo.
They are killing the 80′s! I hate the studios.
They should have had the 95 year old Lucille Bliss back as Smurfette. Would have been better than Katy Perry.
Looks reallllly bad. Hop looked so much better than this
Kids today don’t even know who the Smurfs are. The only hope for this film is that the folks who grew up in the 80s take their kids to see it.
This is a complete rip off of the film “last tango in Paris”. To think that children will be exposed to smurfette being “butterd up” by papa smurf is appalling.
what a waste of time & money
I think I speak for everyone here when I say…
FINALLY.
Boner Time!
This trailer gave me blue balls!
This looks like the low side of retarded.
word is NPH is in a much better comedy this summer, an indie called the “best and the brigtest” with amy sedaris, john hodgman, bunch of genuinely funny people….has anyone seen a trailer for that one?
yes, actually… word is the trailer will be released next week, per the movie’s Facebook page.
THE PRODUCTION OF THIS FILM WAS A MESS. IT STARTED, THE SCRIPT WAS IN SHAMBLES, THEY HAD TO WAIT FOR A NEW SCRIPT, THEN THEY STARTED AGAIN, THEN STOPPED, NEW REVISIONS, NEW SETS, NEW ANIMATION, NEW THIS, NEW THAT.
Dude for Smurf’s sake, stop yelling!
this looks like a steaming pile of smurf.
I actually don’t think kids will like it. Do kids even know what a smurf is? NPH, shame on you.
