EXCLUSIVE: House alumna Jennifer Morrison has landed the lead in ABC’s drama pilot Once Upon a Time. Josh Dallas, Jamie Dornan and Jared Gilmore also have been cast in the project, from writers/executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. It centers on Anna (Morrison), a woman drawn into the small town of Storybrook, where the magic and mystery of fairy tales may be real.
The 10-year-old Gilmore, who has recurred as Bobby Draper on Mad Men, will play the pivotal role of Henry, Anna’s biological son and the only resident of Storybrook who is not under the spell of the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) and tracks down his mom to enlist her help. Dallas will play Prince Charming. Dornan will play the handsome and authoritative sheriff of Storybrooke. Following her exit from House, on which she played Dr. Allison Cameron, Morrison has recurred on How I Met Your Mother this season. Gilmore is with AEF and David Dean Management.

This entire project seems very whimsical – I think it is better suited in a mini-series format, because I just can’t see a procedural fairytale working.

I’m absolutley thrilled to see the incredibly talented Jennifer Morrison as the star of a new show. I will be tuning in to see her each week. She is one of the best actresses working on TV today.
I thought the lead for this already went to Ginnifer Goodwin. Did we have a switch? Or maybe all these pilots are starting to blur together for me.

If they are casting Jennifer Morrison is because they don´t have enough money to spend in a real actress and just cast a blonde cheap bimbo.
When I heard the theme about fairy tales, I was hoping for a few more archetypes that would be featured more prominently than just these usual suspects. Let’s hope along with their ‘Prince Charming’
they also have ‘Dashing Rogue’ ‘Fairy Godmother’ and the like. It’s going to be interesting to see where this ends up.
I love Jennifer. Can’t wait for her newest project. All of my friends – guys and girls – all think she’s the hottest. She is more than just beautiful, she is talented and smart. House producers were stupid to let her go.
