CBS has found its ‘Person of Interest’. In what would be his first series gig, The Passion of the Christ star Jim Caviezel has signed on to topline CBS’ crime drama pilot Person of Interest. Taraji Henson has also joined the pilot written/exec produced by Jonah Nolan and executive produced by J.J. Abrams. It centers on ex-CIA agent Reese (Caviezel), presumed dead, who teams up with reclusive billionaire Finch (Michael Emerson) to prevent violent crimes in New York City. Henson will play a homicide detective. On TV, ICM-repped Caviezel previously starred in the AMC miniseries The Prisoner.

Not his first series. He was the star of a ’90s pilot remake of “77 Sunset Strip.”
Plus another series – The Prisoner with Sir Ian McKellan.
Damn, I was holding out some hope that they would cast Terry O’Quinn in that role…
This is going to be one hell of a show!
So… Caveizel and Emerson. Who are we supposed to be rooting for? What a trainwreck.
They’re both fighting for good so both you root for. This won’t fail. Abrams and Nolan? Emerson and Caveizl? Come on now. Gonna be epic
Bob. Dude. Every procedural show in the history of TV has the leads fighting for good. Many of those shows never saw the light of day, and many more get canceled quickly because the LEADS AREN’T LIKEABLE ENOUGH. If Emerson or Caviezl were to ask your daughter out on a date, would you be psyched? No. They’re creepy.
Prediction: CBS will pay the penalty, and this show doesn’t get picked up.
Prediction: This show will get picked up and it will be a hit. Just because I said they’re epic doesn’t mean I would them take my daughter out you moron.
Of COURSE I wouldn’t want Mr. Emerson to ask my daughter out on a date. I’d want him for myself.
I mean, Jim did play Jesus in a movie and that guy was pretty likeable…

Great casting.
He has a haunted vibe, like Montgomery Clift – guess that is why he got picked to play Jesus. They should play that up in the show.
I’d watch Michael Emerson read the grocery ads. Seriously, if you think all he can play is sinister, then you didn’t see the last season of “Lost”. He is capable of amazingly nuanced and complicated work. I actually prefer complex, layered characters to one-dimensional, cardboard cut-outs. There are plenty of shows with predictable characters, so go watch those if you think he’s going to suck. I, personally, cannot WAIT to see him on TV again.
Why would anybody let their daughter date two middle-aged dudes? I wouldn’t let her date Crockett and Tubbs, or Batman and Robin, or Dwight and Michael. But Im still going to watch those shows.
Nolan / Abrams / Emerson / Caviezel sounds promising. But I can’t imagine it on CBS.
Am I the only one who thinks this plot sounds like a non-superhero version of The Cape? Instead of a Police Officer presumed dead, it’s a ex-CIA agent and Orwell aka Summer Glau is the equivalent of Michael Emerson’s character. Well, since it has Michael Emerson I guess I’ll check it out anyways…
If you’ve read it you would quickly see Caviezel is perfect for this role. Excellent casting.
OK, Superfans. Pretend that Undercovers – JJ’s last network TV spy attempt – wasn’t discount dogmeat.
That show failed because of casting. This one looks bound for the same fate to me. And, for what it’s worth, I hear CBS execs were ambivalent about casting JC. He’s got no fanbase, having crapped out of the movie biz spectacularly.
James caviezel definitely has a fan base and all of us who watch his work , are very excited .
This will be a great show . ” guess u never saw him in “Frequency” , Counte of Monte Cristo” , Thin Red Line, Deja vu.
His Fan Base will grow after this show .

I think we should hold our judgements until may and what pilots cbs
takes to series will depened on how high each pilot scores and how
the pilots do with test audiences. I think Person of interest could
score high. AS for the casting of the roles the one person in the
room the day the pilot is viewed will know if Jim Caviezel is right
actor for the when he sees his proformance in the pilot. it will
be the boss of cbs himself.
I LOVE, LOVE this series……Caviezel and Emerson are awesome and Jim Caviezel is HOT!!
