Ridley Scott and 20th Century Fox have tapped Logan Marshall-Green to play a lead role in Prometheus, the science fiction film that Scott next directs. Marshall-Green will play the role of Holloway, a crewman on the space ship and the love interest for the character played by Noomi Rapace. Rapace, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star, was the first castmember set by Scott. Marshall-Green most recently was seen in Devil and Brooklyn’s Finest, and did stints on The O.C. and 24. He’s repped by 3 Arts and Gersh. This was a role that a lot of young actors chased, and who wouldn’t want to be involved in Scott’s first sci-fi foray since Alien and Blade Runner?
The film also stars Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron, with Idris Elba, Sean Harris and Kate Dickie playing smaller roles. Shooting begins in March on a film that started as a prequel to Scott’s seminal science fiction film Alien but morphed into something else. The original script was by Jonathan Spaihts, but the most recent draft is by Damon Lindelof. Shooting begins shortly in the UK.

Wow.. did not see this one coming! Been following the guy’s carreer since his baddie role in The O.C. (incl. the short-lived Traveler), but did not think he would be able to break into feature films.. But this definetly seems like an inspired casting choice.
Btw, this is not Ridley’s “first sci-fi foray since Alien”! His next project after Alien was a little movie called Blade Runner.
Well pointed out, Gabriel with Blade Runner.
I’m glad fresh(ish) blood are being given a chance in this one.
It specifically says “Scott’s first sci-fi foray since Alien and Blade Runner?”
Were they looking for a “Tom Hard-type” because this guy fits that to a T. He look just like him!
Yes!!! This guy is a fantastic actor who has deserved a break for a long time. Good for him.
Sorry, but besides Rapace and Fassbender, there’s not any good actors in this film. Combine this with the fact that Ridley Scott hasn’t made a good film in over a decade, you got a recipe for disaster.
Two words: ROBIN HOOD
Agreed on ROBIN HOOD – what a complete dud. However, I will have to admit that AMERICAN GANGSTER gets better on every watch – while it is definitely overlong and needed a better editor, there’s something about this modern day SERPICO, i.e. Richie Roberts, that gets me.
The most interesting aspect though is the friendship that developed between Roberts and Frank, and it would have been interesting to concentrate on that more. I like the ending of the director’s cut, where Richie meets Frank when he gets out of jail.
Tom Hardy should be cast as well so that we can ignore how alike those two look
And now he can sign with caa!
I hope that only the photograph is douche-baggish.
He kind of has that tough guy street swagger thing.
btw he was at the Oscars with Marisa Tomei, the year she was nominated for ‘The Wrestler’
THAT’S the photo his PR team chooses to send out? Christ. Nothing says “next big star” like a “hurry up and take the picture, this is as symmetric as I can get my face while scowling” photo.
this dude over acts
The fact that Ridley choose him over hundreds of actors who is dying to be in his film is really awesome..Finally someone actually see how talented Logan is..I wish him the best because he deserved it..
Logan Marshall-Green did a terrific job in “Dark Blue” and in the movie “Devil.” The first time I saw Logan was in an episode of SVU where he played a psycho killer. He is an excellent actor! I wish him lots of luck with his new movie.
