With his show shut down for the season, Two and a Half Men co-star Jon Cryer can use some extra work. In the skit that will air on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, Cryer works as a receptionist for the talk show host. “I needed the work,” he says. Cryer’s previous talk show appearance in January on TBS’ Conan proved ominous. During the interview, Cryer quipped: “I’m checking TMZ, as I do every day, to know if I have to go to work at all.” The next morning, Sheen was hospitalized, leading to the actor’s rehab treatment and subsequent meltdown and the show’s cancellation. Cryer is yet to comment on the turmoil surrounding Sheen and Men. Here is the Ellen clip:

Why is this newsworthy?
Very funny. Charlie had commented the other day that none of his co-stars had come out publicly to support him or something like that.
Eh its funny at the very least. I’m not sure what kind of support Sheen should be looking for. He kinda got everyone canned. He should be happy they’re not speaking out against him.
Great office Ellen!
It is funny….
Charlie did not get them canned, CBS & WB cancelled the ramaining episodes. He was ready to go back to work.
Charlie Sheen is a drug addict who is on a ongoing bender that includes a verbal rampage against his employers. He’s the one who got the show cancelled for at least the rest of the season, if not permanently.
There’s absolutely no whitewashing this, period.
I’m sure the unemployed 2.5 Men crew and support staff got a big kick out of seeing two multimillionaires-Ellie and the putz- kidding about unemployment and the implied indignity of taking shit temp jobs.
Nothing beats multimillionaires having a chuckle over the desperation of real unemployed and the kinds of crap jobs they must do to feed themselves & family.
Oh, and Charlie didn’t put them out of work. CBS and WB did.
It’s fitting that Cryer started this shtick on Conan, because they both are tone deaf about this. We’re in the middle of the worst economy since the Depression, unemployment near 10 percent . And these guys who have made tens of mllions of dollars over the past few years keep making jokes about being unemployed. Har-dee-har-har.
The height of tastelessness. Really.
career stunt
temping for a mannish lesbian looks desperate though
Jon Cryer should have his own show. He is funny, fun to watch and takes the stage every time he appears. Charlie seems like an after thought in his company. IMHO. Love you Jon!
Cryer was in four failed sitcoms before Two and Half Men. I think it’s safe to say America doesn’t want to see him in his own show.
And how’s that big multimillion dollar house looking about now, Jon? Maybe you should have built smaller, renovated, or saved your money.
At least this time they only insulted the WB temp pool and not the tour guides.
