Miles Fisher, the young superagent from the Pinkberry short film spoof that was so popular among Deadline Hollywood readers, has landed a supporting role in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar. After Deadline aired the Pinkberry short film that was made for a WME retreat, Fisher signed with ICM and landed a lead in Final Destination 5. In J. Edgar, he plays Agent Garrison, an FBI man who interviews his boss, J. Edgar Hoover, at different stages in the movie.

Thank you Deadline for being solely responsible for all of this young man’s success. You people are saints.
you think clint eastwood cast this guy because deadline posted about him a few times? use your head. miles is on his way up
Being sarcastic.
Fisher is awesome. His twitter feed is one of the best.
deadline loves to shamelessly promote fresh college grads whose families happen to already be extremely well-connected. i have no problem with promoting unknowns, but not when they are kids who don’t need it and aren’t that extraordinary otherwise. (ie: lena dunham aka deadline’s “prodigy”)
What are his family connections?
God I wish Nikki would do an article on Nepotism. The amount of A list writers successful based on connections is ridiculous.
According to his wiki, his mom is on the board of the AFI and his dad is the president of the Fed Reserve of Dallas.
Furthermore, “connections”? What does that even mean anymore with the internet and everything? With wall street money coming in, tech and corporate stuff its not that hard to have an entry into hollywood these days. If you live in a respectable area in spitting distance to any major metropolitan city, someone’s gonna know someone that knows someone. Hell put up a youtube video crying about britney and you can get attention from your grandmother’s attic in any podunk town or apply to a reality show.
No one’s really “connected” unless they’re Ari’s kid, a Speilberg, a Smith, a Coppola, etc. Any gal can go into a staffing place and get an asst gig at some agency and start sleeping with agents. Bam! She’s connected. And any guy can walk into a Weho bar meet some gay mafioso. Bam! He’s connected.
Sure Miles’ connections might have helped but at the end of the day he still had to “bring it” for Clint. Perhaps being the spawn of a Fed prez taught him hard work and discipline, a mother on the AFI board shows a proclivity for the arts. Incubating in an environment that fostered both business savvy and artistry, Miles probably cultivated the talent necessary to get noticed.
Stop winning about nepotism, you’re just making excuses for yourself when you should be figuring out your next step to reaching your short term goals.
I hate going back to posts because it makes me look like a total loser with too much time on my hands. But that’s not the case. Its almost like I’ve developed a tic with it and I’d rather discuss things with strangers than look at my friends boring posts on Facebook.
To clarify, I wasn’t defending Miles. I’m still on the fence whether I’m in the pro or con camp (I’m pretty easy to win over). I wad defending nepotism, cause wouldn’t we all in theory like to create The Next Hollywood Dynasty.
a) 05′ or 06′ is hardly “fresh college grad”
b) Clint has good taste so maybe Miles isn’t a bad guy after all.
c) I actually feel a little guilty about bashing him on the Final Destination post. I don’t think he purposely meant to cross my war path. I hope through his success he can clean house (unless he already has) and not associate himself with that poser wasp faction of agency assistants from New England shanty towns. Quinnipiac is that an online college?
Great. This film is turning out a fresh and talented cast. Gunner Wright plays the part of ‘Dwight Eisenhower’ and kills in it!! Yes, Gunner Wright.
Congrats to all.
Gunner Wright plays ‘Eisenhower.’ Another great find by Clint Eastwood.
Miles Fisher’s “career” is pretty pathetic considering how well-connected he is
Same thing with Larry Ellison’s son
Miles is incredibly talented and is getting work because of said talent. Cast for major studio films isn’t chosen because of a Deadline nod. Don’t make blanket statements, you sound like a fool.
I love how all you losers always claim nepotism when others succeed while you wallow in your own self pity. Get a freaking life and stop trolling the news of people actually making it happen. The cream rises to the top. Maybe you just don’t have it. Ever think of that?
Sure, the nepotism-claim gets annoying here and now, but the “you’re just jealous!” post gets even older. *yawn*
Love this! Well said. The poorly said version? Miles Fisher is #WINNING.
Dude, the cream rises but so does the nepotistic. When Nikki decides to do a full blown investigation into the nepotistic rise of several A list writers, some actors, some directors, it will shut you up rather quickly.
You’re unbelievable. Welcome to Hollywood. Figure it out or don’t.
This guy is an annoying, conceited d-bag I’m afraid
know him. went to school with him. super douche.
Glad I’m not alone. He gave me a dirty look at a party for no reason. I don’t even know him.
this guy is a star! too many haters out there. he’s got it!
How does he look in heels and a dress? Oh, that’s right, he’s not playing the title role.
Interesting that Fisher did not sign with WME.
Talented kid I think. Just saw him in The Single Life web series. He’s got a Rod Serling thing going on.
