There are a slew of pics on the Internet today from last night’s Wonder Woman shoot on Hollywood Boulevard. Production for the NBC pilot closed the touristy street between Orange and Highland starting Tuesday for a three-day shoot that will continue tonight and Thursday night. The Warner Bros. Television production is filming an action scene featuring star Adrianne Palicki in Wonder Woman gear as she chases a bad guy down the street. (She’s in the top photo; the second photo is a stunt double.) The David E. Kelley’s reboot of the popular DC Comics franchise stars Palicki as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, a successful corporate executive working to balance the elements of her complicated life. Note the costume, which got a bit of a retouch since a first look was unveiled a couple of weeks ago to mostly negative reaction from fans. (Vinyl leggings are out, red boots are in!)
TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

Wow they actually stuck with that crazy outfit huh
Does not look like Palicki in the 2nd shot.
Lee in the biz we call it a stunt double. Duh!
Same impress…. a stunt ??
No, they pretty obviously changed the outfit.
Looks like a Halloween costume from RIte Aid
Looks like a costume from Wal-Mart.
I can’t fathom a Wonder Woman costume that *wouldn’t* get the it-looks-tacky comments.
LMAAAOOOO
What Wonder Woman should look like:

Basically, taking from the comic book in the classic sense and using the Greek era interpretation of her costume mixed in with the American flag. This is how they explained the look during the George Perez era. The dark muted colors with the red, white and gold makes what could be a silly costume in real life look authentic and dangerous.
That reminds me a bit of the Promethea graphic novels.
I am not familiar with Promethea. I will check it out.
The sad part is that because I am such a huge fan of Wonder Woman that I really wanted the character to work out. As a boy, she was one of the big reads for me when Perez was writing her.
I don’t understand why anyone would think the design above makes sense. It just looks tacky. I sense, in part, that it is because the show is being made by someone who is not a fan of the character as she is in the comic book. In the comic book, she’s an equal to Superman, but amongst the Trinity (Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman), she’s the only real warrior since she comes out of a warrior culture. The whole idea of the Amazons is that they are a warrior culture that preaches peace or else. A contradiction that has a lot of implications. That’s why she comes to the U.S. and wear its symbols. As a peace offering. I just think the Kelley was not the right writer for this. Just because he’s done a lot of things doesn’t mean he can do everything.
They could have done a lot of great things with that kind of tone for this country right now as we are currently engaged in 3 wars. Either the writer, who I believe in David E. Kelly, does not understand the Wonder Woman property, or he really just does not care. Either way, I don’t think the show will do that well. The premise alone misses the point by making her a corporate executive. She was a political ambassador because it was about being female and strong.
Here are some more images from the artist that I found- he really captures what the character should look like:

Its a shame that Hollywood had poor judgement on this. I think a movie is unlikely.
This is why Hollywood can’t win with comic-book fans. I love that artist’s interpretation of Wonder Woman – but that last shot? What a God-awful take on Superman.
That is a much better look-and the girl is way prettier. They should put her in the show instead. I like the darker metallic colors; it has a contemporary feel to it and a darker edge.
Darker edge?
*Groan*
Is that Cobie Smulders from How I Met Your Mother?
I think it is. But, I am not 100 percent certain who the model is.
Agree!
They are gonna blame the failure of this show on this poor girl…
No one at NBC saw how ridiculous Birds of Prey looked? No one? If only they’d ditched the cheesy 70′s costume and updated it. At least someone at NBC is getting their mojo going from this costume. “She’s gotta wear the costume! I don’t care what anyone says! And the lasso; she’s gotta have that golden lasso!! No, I’m not drooling!”
WTF….Wonder Woman of my Youth was Linda Carter…..who is the ERW? Emaciated Rat Woman! nO wAY! aND THAT BUSTED UP FACE? Boycott this program……Seriously
You may have noticed that Lynda Carter is now 60 years old. I don’t think she would have been a viable candidate for a role in the new show. Despite my initial reservations, I feel that the suit is actually quite good when seen in natural light, and with the leg stars plainly visible. In fact, if they had gone with THIS costume in the comic, I wouldn’t have really had a problem with it (the leg cover-up was at the bottom of my list of complaints with that mess). I say we give this thing a chance, people.
The costume’s colors look good and I’m liking the change to red boots instead of blue but in all the shots I’ve seen, the crotch area seems kind of funky and could probably use a redoing or retooling.
NBC has another stinker on their hands.
I can’t believe NBC thinks this is actually going to work?!
The old WW show was a hit because millions and millions of horny boys couldn’t wait to have just a sliver of sex in their lives.
Today, we got magazines galore, we got 500 TV channels, we got the f**kin INTERNET!!!
This looks as ridiculous as The Cape!!!!
Remember that? Watch out, everyone! It’s the f**king cape!
I read in the comments section on one of the other Wonder Woman posts that Bob Greenblatt only picked this show up to pilot because of financial penalties that were set with Warner Bros. under the old regime at NBC.
I hope that is the reason it was picked up. I can’t believe Adrianne Palicki’s people let her do this. She is a very talented actress and this is just such schlock. Maybe it will play in Ohio, but I doubt it…
Looks like a stunt double in the second photo.
Looks ridiculous.
new costume is WAYYYYYYY better than the official image
phew
I agree. WAAAAYYYYYYYY better. I didn’t mind the pants but thank Hera they changed the boots.
Desperately needs Barry White and a unisex.
This looks like a scene from a sitcom. It will be impossible to suspend disbelief for this one.
Scores a 10 on the stinko-meter
Uh oh.
She looks like any other guy walking around Hollywood on a Tuesday night.
LMAO.. OMG!
This won’t even make it to the inexplicable network 4 month hiatus.
That’s a good one.
I don’t see NBC picking up something like this to season in its first post-merger batch of shows. Too ridiculous, too risky.
Second photo is definitely a stunt double. The outfit is much, much better. Thank goodness for the red boots and darker, not so plastic-y pants.
This looks absolutely ridiculous. I guess that means it’ll be a tremendous success.
Is this what happens when the McDonalds clown marries a stripper?
You owe me a keyboard.
big improvement on the costume. I wonder what’s in the budget tho. She really needs to crash into things, have them crumple.
The biggest problem for me is that the “action sequence” is nothing but Wonder Woman running down the street. Why isn’t she flying?
Seems like this is just the 70s series all over again. All her powers have been taken away and all she can do is spin in circle, run and lasso people.
If Wonder Woman could fly she wouldn’t need that invisible airplane would she?
In modern comics she’s nearly as powerful as superman – with the strength and flying and all. She just doesn’t have his speed or all the fancy heat-ray type things.
the boots are better but still bad and i just dont know if she will ever be able to be what linda carter was. lets be honest here. WONDER WOMAN isnt just your average everyday gal, she kicks ass and doesnt bother to take names. more importantly she is supposed to be a ten in any mans eyes. now linda may not have been a ten in every mans eyes but she was pretty damn close to perfection. as attractive as ms. palicki is she doesnt quite fit the bill. not curvy enough. lets hope her acting and kelleys ability to write an engaging and often thought provoking script can pick up the slack.
Knight Rider mark 2…
as a fanboy one of the things that really offends me is when there is a blatant disrespect to the material when making a comic book into a movie or film. i put this show right up there with the spiderman musical. not for me. thanks again to warner brothers for proving once again you are a bunch of shitheads
Right… so they should have spent the money on making more of the comic books for Wonder Woman? Obviously your problem is in the format as that’s all you’ve complained about above.
Ok. I get that Linda Carter is 60 and not a candidate for the part. Still, you could have found someone with a “Rack” since that was really the draw for the initial series…
Sorry, I love it. Goin as her for Halloween.
Wow, does this look bad! The angry face in the first photo (some fine fine acting clearly) and the fear in the second picture make me wonder if they’re trying to do something laughable.
This looks really, really bad.
I am now officially amused — and possibly flattered. The modifications to the costume address almost exactly some of the concerns I raised in a comment thread over on TVLine; now the outfit doesn’t look like magic SFX powers would be needed to change into it. Clearly the production team is paying attention…and is capable of responding thoughtfully to thoughtfully framed analysis.
I’m still skeptical about the character concept behind this Wonder Woman incarnation, but I have to give the producers points for flexibility under fire.
yeah sure, the surely listened to your comments and went accodingly. ask for credit!
Not just mine, actually; my own remarks pretty much didn’t touch on the boots, while others in the thread specifically suggested the switch to red, which is more in line with the character’s look in print.
Seriously — I think it’s practically a given that the producers were following the ‘Net response to the release of the costume image. How much of the costume retooling was a direct response to the comments is hard to say. Given production timelines, some of the changes could well have been in the works by the time that first photo was released, and others (notably the fabric switch on the pants/tights) may have been dictated as much by practical considerations as by ‘Net feedback. But I think it’s interesting to note that the changes in this version of the outfit are, almost to a T, exactly reflective of the suggestions from the handful of folks in the TVLine thread who made reasoned, specific comments on what they saw.
Um
