One of OWN’s two highest-rated series, Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes, is moving from Fridays to Sundays beginning March 27, where it will be paired with Oprah Presents Master Class. Behind the Scenes has been airing on Fridays with reality competition Your OWN Show, which recently wrapped its low-rated run. With Master Class‘ companion on Sunday, series of specials Ask Oprah’s All Stars, also gone, OWN’s two series featuring Winfrey, Behind the Scenes and Master Class, will now run together on Sundays. OWN will go down from four to three nights of original programming – Monday, Tuesday and Sunday. When Master Class ends its season, it will be succeed by The Judds, a reality series starring Naomi and Wynonna Judd, which will premiere April 10. OWN, which has been slow out of the gate, has two solid ratings performers, Behind the Scenes and Our America with Lisa Ling, which was recently renewed for a second season.

This will make no difference whatsoever. It’s funny how you can tell when America decides they’ve had enough of someone or something. Oprah had a tremendous run but that run is over.
So when they aren’t airing original programming, do they just do reruns, infomercials or what?
Really, it’s better if something Oprah does fails so hopefully this network continues its downward spiral.
Looking forward to The Judds! Sounds like OWN has good things on the horizon with that one – a broad-appeal show that should be a success on Sunday nights!

outside of these few “hits” – OWN is supposedly pulling the same ratings as when it was Discovery Health. the programming is pure junk drawer with 48 Hours Mysteries, reruns of Dr. Phil, What Not to Wear, Say Yes to the Dress and every movie that runs on all the other women oriented channels. It’s basically a programming mess that has so little identity that the Oprah element could have merely been a three hour block on any old channel.
and the ratings should be an issue since most major cable operators moved Discover Health from the frontiers of digital tiers down to the normal cable channel space. So it’s in a better position and pulling mediocre numbers. No Oprah Magic so far
Oh please, it takes time to put together a full slate of original programming. Give them some time, it will take at least a year.
I like Oprah’s politics and wish her well, but Discovery Health was actually a great channel, and I’m angry at her for displacing all of the Discovery Health shows, even the ones that could have fit on her channel just fine. What would be so bad about OWN showing the emergency room shows and the fun in the maternity ward shows?
Discovery Health and Fit TV actually merged and some of the shows are now on that net. Check your cable lineup for FitTv.

As this is Winfrey’s last season of the Oprah Winfrey Show, how much longer can her most popular show “…Behind The Scenes” go on?
One correction…I believe “Behind the Scenes” will actually move to Sunday on March 27th, not April 27th.
I think those of you who continue to voice such disparaging comments regarding Oprah must be jealous and/or racist. Don’t feel bad that you will never make as much money or have the impact on our society that a once poor black woman has. Don’t fault Oprah for trying to bring some uplifting moral television programming to the airwaves instead of the garbage reality shows and TV sitcoms that glorify drug addicts and whackos like sheen and snooki.
Seriously its sad. this network, the programming is just terrible & what’s with the Fugly color logo?

You Go Girl! I like your programming so far! I could use more movies, more fitness and no reality shows. I know they are very popular, but they enable the fantasy of life and not real life. I like you for your non-fiction shows not the fiction. Let’s get real. It’s like this; when you tell the truth no-one believes you. When you tell a lie they do. The more you embellish the lie the more they believe it! Dumb! Television needs to go back to the truth. If you want ratings continue as is; if you want to change the world, find positive, heartwarming, good ending stories to tell. Like the single mom who puts herself through college and makes something of herself! I know they few and far between but they are worth telling. If you save one soul? I’m on a tangent! So, like I said I wish you best! You Go Girl!
this was 100% predictable. they were arrogant, naive, and ignorant to think that her bcast show persona, her money, and OPM would make this a success. she and her sycophants obviously did not go to school on previous network startups or they would’ve discovered (pun intended) that most fail and most don’t stand a chance anyway because they end up at #256 or adjacent to the music or somewhere not anywhere near the top tiers on the cable roster and no one will find them, not even the most diehard Oprah fans. do they have the guts to stick this out for a couple of years? they shouldn’t. but then maybe she doesn’t care how much money she throws down that tube. discover has zero leverage with cable operators and hopefully this puts that company — and OWN — out of business permanently.
