From Celebrity Rehab stars to pilot leads — that’s the career trajectory for Eric Roberts and Tom Sizemore, who landed major roles on pilots this season: Roberts is the star of ABC’s dance drama Grace, and Sizemore co-stars opposite Ethan Hawke in Fox’s Exit Strategy. (Sizemore was a cast member of the third season of VH1′s Celebrity Rehab in 2009; Roberts was on the reality series last year.) 
Add to them Don Johnson, star of Michael Patrick King’s NBC pilot A Mann’s World, who also has a history of substance abuse and brushes with the law. In a pilot season overshadowed by the spectacle of current TV bad boy Charlie Sheen, it is nice to see the bad boys of yesteryear getting redemption and another chance at stardom. Let’s hope Sheen will get that too in a pilot season a decade from now …

You know what? Normally I’d be one to make all sorts of jokes about a subject like this.
The first thing I thought was…”So people who’re addicts, who appear on a VH1 Clown Show that doesn’t seem to follow many of the standardized positive steps for recovery, then get a chance at making LOADS of dough on Tv?”
But then I thought about Sizemore’s acting. Say what you will but the guy’s solid as hell when he’s not high.
Here’s hoping his “second chance” works well for him.
Some of the pilots seem to be great this year. I wonder if Paul Lee and Bob Greenblatt have anything to do with this. The shows seem edgier than in previous years recently.
They’re all great character actors. Glad to seem get another shot at the acting thing.
I worked with Tom on Dr. Vegas and when he’s sober, he’s a pleasure to work with: intelligent, fun, and, of course, the beneficiary of having worked with some of the best directors in the business – Spielberg, Scorsese, Stone, Scott, Mann. He knows what works and what doesn’t. We shot nights in a Vegas casino for almost three weeks straight on the pilot and he was a total pro.
Johnson is and always has been a supreme prick, and I don’t know Roberts, but I hope this is the beginning of a long and fruitful career revival for Tom.

Well, I’ve worked with two of them as have many people I know, and they were nightmares. I’ll take Sizemore crazy over Johnson’s sexual harassment of every woman on the crew or cast he finds attractive.
I wish Eric nothing but the best, and hope the other two keep it together for the sake of all the other cast and crew on the pilot that will be depending on them to do so.
They are all good at what they do and bring charisma and talent with them so here’s hoping any demons have been removed or are under control.
Why should Sheen get another chance ten years from now Nikke? He isn’t just a drug addict but a guy who has spent the last 25 years terrorizing women, beating them, punching them, chocking them, SHOOTING them. The guy should be in jail, not on TV.
Eric Roberts is a much better actor than his sister will ever be.
All horrible actors cast in horrible pilots. I doubt any of them will get picked up to series. And I hope Sheen disappears into oblivion as he does not deserve to ever work in television again!
Also, what the fuck is Logjammers? I’ve seen so many comments about it and NONE of the TV websites include the pilot for such a show on any network…
You seriously think that Eric Roberts and Tom Sizemore are bad actors? I guess you didn’t see Crash or Saving Private Ryan then?

They may be bad pilots. Can’t know until you see the final product. Then, even if they suck, they get pushed on the air sometimes, and marketing gets blamed every time when it all goes wrong.
That is unfair, no doubt.
Sometimes a show might have a great pilot and then completely collapse. Other shows have bad pilots but get better as they progress.
Pretty sure LOGJAMMERS is a joke. Some dumbass comedy writer (and maybe his dumbass friends) thought, “Hey, let’s make up a show and pepper the Deadline comments with mentions! That way we can get some attention, or just snicker at how clever we are.”
I laughed. I think it’s pretty funny. The character names are funny.

Well, there is a chance that those shows suck, because of their past they are now paycheck-actors but saying that Roberts and Sizemore are crappy actors is ridiculous. Some people have to stop drinking the kool-aid.
Are you kidding? “Not master thespians?” Eric Roberts was one of the acting greats of his generation. Pope of Greenwich Village? Runaway Train? Star 80?
There was a moment in time when he was the next DeNiro. He pissed it away, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t supremely talented.
Ohhhhhhh! So, that’s the secret to success in Jollywood… Use drugs, commit crimes, go to jail, go on Celebrity Rehab and get a pilot for a series! Wow! Had no idea that, if you’re clean, you’re actually frowned upon… Of course, the real downside for these guys is that now they’re TOTALLY owned!
