ABC dominated Monday night with Dancing with the Stars and Castle. Dancing (5.1/14 in 18-49, 22.3 million in the fast-national Nielsen ratings) was flat with the fast-national ratings for its season premiere last week, as was Castle (3.3/8, 12.8 million). Because DWTS rises in the finals and Castle drops when following the reality juggernaut, vs. the final numbers last week, DWTS was down 4% and Castle was up 6%. For the night, ABC averaged a 4.5/12 in 18-49 and 19.2 million viewers.
CBS (1.9/5, 6.2 million), whose only original last night was midseason comedy Mad Love (2.1/6, 5.6 million), finished second, paced again by a Two and Half Men repeat (2.3/6, 7.6 million) as its top performer.
Spanish-language broadcaster Univision (1.7/4 in 18-49) was third for the night in the adult demo, ahead of NBC’s all-original lineup and Fox and the CW, which aired all repeats.
NBC’s special saluting President George H.W. Bush (0.9/3, 4.2 million) barely registered at 8 PM. The Event (1.2/3, 4.4 million) and Harry’s Law (1.6/4, 8.2 million) were both even with last week’s series lows in 18-49.
Note: Starting with last night’s ratings, Nielsen is now reporting duplicate viewing, meaning that if the same viewer watches a show live and then again in playback, that second viewing counts towards the program’s Live+same day rating. The same applies if a viewer rewinds and re-watches content on their DVR.

WHen are they going to put this horrible show out of it’s misery? They went to France? The only thing missing on the French assassin was a beret. But not to disappoint he WAS munching on the requisite french roll while waiting to pounce from above. Why didn’t he offer Sean a bite and them nastily yank it away with a basso french chortle “Imbecile American! I treeeked you!” Such comedy. It’s really a gift, all in all. Thank you The Event writing staff for I have never laughed so hard in my life. My condolences to the actors who are forced to say this stuff.
yeah…bad acting, bad script, bad directing. so sad they dropped the ball on such a cool story.
but for some reason…i…can’t…stop…watching…
NBC is partly to blame for Harry’s Law Demo #’s. Get is a compatible lead in. Why is the event still on with those ratings??? and I like the Event. DEK’s shows always seem to have a lower Demo number anyway but having the Event’s 1.2 rating as a lead in doesn’t help.
What?!? Comcast’s
Suckup To The Republican PartySalute To G.H.W. Bush came in FOURTH??! But…but…but…how can that be?? America is 55% Republican! And they LOVE The Bush family! I know this, because Fox News tells me so!!!!It’s official: Nielsen is nothing more than a LIBERAL TOOL!!!
Bachmann/Pawlenty in 2012!!!
why would cbs air reruns after having good numbers from ncaa as a platform? someone is asleep at the wheel there.
The Event has lost any appeal it could have with how ridiculous and how series it is.
A guy who sits with the president and has his trust is actually one of the aliens and spends a lot of time away from the White House doing things for Sophia and nobody seems to mind that he’s gone for a while.
Sean has no training other than being a nerd yet he’s capable of defeating assassins.
And that Layla chick…god I want her to be killed off already.
This show started infuriating me like 5 episodes ago, I was hoping the break would make it come back less awful but it just worsened.
I don’t care what The Event actually is, I just want them to wrap up the series nicely for its impending cancellation: kill every single character.
Ok leave the CIA director alive, he’s a pretty solid actor and the only thing worthwhile.
@Manuel – couldn’t have put it better myself. But since I had high hopes for it I want to see where they’ll take it. Kinda like FastForward…i knew they were dropping the ball but they had to end it somehow.
