  • I hope he runs too. Deck hands Huckabee, Romney, Palin, Pawlenty and Bachmann are nice and all, but the Titanic that is the GOP 2012 Presidential race needs a true captain.

  • The Donald is an ass. He’s recently been getting drunk on Tea and any presidential aspirations he may have had (he’s not really serious, he’s just an ego-maniacal narcissist) went out the window with his embrace of the nut job Birthers who can’t accept that Obama was born in Hawaii and is legitimately the POTUS (unlike the very questionable W who lost the popular vote but was handed the election by the SCOTUS). Trump just went off on Fox & Friends this morning again, upset that the ladies on The View questioned whether or not he’s a racist. I don’t know if he is or not, but he is a tool and I hope his sponsors and viewers reward his views by pulling their support/viewership.

• I’m enjoying the premise behind America’s Next Great Restaurant (I may be the only one based on the ratings), but I find it to be poorly produced at times.

  First off, who the heck was the production designer on the show. In Restaurant Row, when the cast lines up to hear their challenges, there are two huge columns that literally block the camera from viewing certain contestants. Absolutely ridiculous and poorly executed.

  Second, the voiceover work is awful. I realize that in a reality show, there are times where edits need to be made and the producers will need to use voiceover to get their point across. I don’t know if it’s just that Bobby Flay has a different tone to his voice when he’s in a sound booth, but it’s really awful…worst I’ve heard on a reality show.

  I realize these are minor quibbles, but they kind of make me feel like this show was rushed into production. That said, I do enjoy the show, find the contestants engaging, and I like that the judges have a personal stake in wanting the potential winner to do well since they’re investing in the restaurant themselves.

  Nice to see it have a slight uptick this week.

  As for Celebrity Apprentice, make it an hour and then I’ll watch. The bloatedness of two hours is just painful and has been for the last couple cycles.

• Obviously this has to be at least in part fueled by the hoopla around Trump running for president but I’ll take it. Celebrity Apprentice has been great this year and it deserves the ratings. Can’t wait for the Meatloaf meltdown next week, should be some pretty ridiculous TV!
