For a third straight night, 8 PM shows showed declines across the board as viewers are adjusting to daylight saving time. Last night, TV usage was down 6% in the hour week-to-week, likely affecting Fox’s Glee and NBC’s The Biggest Loser, the only new offerings at 8 PM.
The mini-finale of Glee (4.0/13, 12.5 million), which goes on a month-long hiatus before returning for its last batch of episodes for the season, was down 13% from last week. Still, it was the highest-rated program of the night in the 18-49 demo. At 9 PM, Raising Hope (2.5/7) was down 7%, but struggling midseason comedy Traffic Light (1.6/5) reversed its ratings downslide, up 7% from last week. Fox (2.3/7, 6.6 million) won the night in 18-49.
Following a repeat of No Ordinary Family (0.9/3), the season finale of V (1.8/5) was up 6% from last week (though down 14% from last year’s finale.) Its depressing ending with the aliens turning all humans into zombies was in stark contrast with the uplifting conclusion of Glee an hour earlier. At 10 PM, Detroit 1-8-7 (1.3/4) was up 18%, likely too little too late to save the cop drama from cancellation.
NBC’s two-hour The Biggest Loser: Couples (2.7/8) was down 7% from last week. It was followed by a repeat of America’s Next Great Restaurant. CBS (10.8 million, 1.9/6) aired all repeats, topping the night in total viewers.

It’s very possible the ratings are down due to catholics and other christians giving up television for the 40 days (lent)
just a theory.
ABC should scrap their Wed. night lineup. These 3 show are going nowhere.
Glee has jumped the shark. What was once effortless writing has turned into crap with guest stars galore.
Good for V and 187. Both episodes were well written last night.
I know I’m among only a handful of people in North America still watching “V,” but SPOILER ALERT, NELLIE!
V is getting good. I hope they stick with it.
V is a very enjoyable show. Really hoping it gets a third season!
I hope ABC renews V, it is a fun show to watch, plot holes and all. The finale was great, there is a lot of potential for this to become a great show, but the writers have to be more consistent.
Cheers, UK V viewers haven’t seen season 2 yet. Thanks for letting us know the ending!
Bring V back for season three!!! It’s getting awesome!
I have been a casual viewer of “Glee” and find it entertaining most of the time. However, for a show that boasts a diverse cast that attempts to steer clear of stereotype, last nights episode was an unforgiveable and entirely inaccurate portrayal of Tea Party members, Christians and Conservatives. Its obvious they are catering to a large gay audience by casting the annoying gay community sweetheart Kathy Griffen as a Sarah Palin-like Tea Partier.
As a gay man, I wonder how my community would react to portrayals of gay behavior that more closely approached reality. Activities involving “alcohol,” “drugs,” “promiscuous sex” “public indecency” and higher rates of sexually transmitted disease than the general population? Just read any local gay publication or go to popular gay websites and see what activities they promote for yourself. Would it be accurate to portray all gay characters this way? In my estimation, it would be much more accurate than the portrayal of Conservatives, Republicans, Christians and Republicans in the media.
I have attended a few Tea Party gatherings with friends and have never witnessed anything remotely racist or homophobic and I have gay friends in other states who shared the same experience. Most of what the liberal press and shows like “Glee” represent are gross mischaracterizations, if not blatant lies.
The show has now decended, like so much of the crap out of Hollywood, as a vehicle to disseminate a left-wing political agenda. Unfortunately for them, many of us aren’t buying the B.S. they are shilling.
Ryan Murphy does it again! Takes a cool concept, goes out of the gate with a blast and then, slowly but surely, jumps the shark and takes the whole shebang into the toilet. Way to go Murphy – you’re just a hack pitcher with no more than a good 1st inning.
I need a third season of V! This season was so good.
V has finally found it’s groove – fantastic finale – if they don’t bring back as season 3, they better at least make it 2 hour series finale to tie up all the loose ends
