The British actress, who has taken legal action against Rupert Murdoch’s News Group, says standing up for what’s right takes precedence over her career. Sienna Miller was one of the first celebrities to accuse Murdoch journalists of hacking into her phone. Comedian Steve Coogan and other celebrities are suing the Murdoch press for allegedly hacking into voicemail messages left on their cellphones. When I asked her if she was afraid suing Murdoch’s UK newspaper News of the World could mean she would never work for 20th Century Fox again, Miller said: “I’m not really too concerned about never working for Fox because it’s about standing up for myself in a way that’s more important than anything. If that’s the case, then that’s the case. It means more to me to make a stand against that than it does anything else in my life.” Miller is starring in Terence Rattigan’s Flare Path, directed by Trevor Nunn, at the moment on the London stage. She starts filming Just Like a Woman with Oscar-nominated director Rachid Bouchareb in New Mexico in June. Miller said: “I can still do a play with Trevor and do a film with Rachid and that’s more interesting than anything.”

yeah – ’cause everyone is falling over themselves to hire Sienna Miller – who’s only famous for dating Jude Law.. Steve Coogan, please – desperately unfunny hack, who is only working in Hollywood thanks to Ben Stiller..
ok, what does that have to do with her/their stand against rupert?
Ain’t that the truth! Two more over-rated people would be hard to find.
Now this is one sad comment. So it’s ok for Murdoch and his greasy goons to hack the phones of these people because you aren’t fond of them? Beware little toad, karma is a real bitch.
Really one of the dumber, elementary and just plain angry posts I have ever read. U are either 17 or really, really stupid. Good for her for sticking up to what feels right to her.
You’re not very old, are you? I’m guessing 17.
Thank you, headlines. You giveth, and you so, so taketh away.
You go girl. You gotta fight, da da, for your right, da da, …. you get the idea.
These jerks in the industry will eventually all get whats coming to them. I can’t stand these huge conglomerates, or even producers, who take advantage of people and do illegal things and think they can get away with it just cause their rich and have money, or are just losers posing.
Take ‘em all on.
Liked her in Keen Eddie, haven’t liked her since.
Ditto that.
How dare Sienna file a lawsuit against fox for illegally hacking and dumping her phone. Just who does she think she is?!! Of course Fox should never work with her again. The audacity!!
Tim,
Are you insinuating that by suing NOTW for illegally invading her privacy that Murdoch would be vindictive and have her blacklisted at FOX? Would other litigants suffer the same fate?
Am I to believe that this practice of Hollywood old would actually happen in today’s media saturated world?
Sienna Miller thinks she’s relevant – that’s cute.
The only reason she might not get a job with 20th Century Fox is if 20th Century Fox doesn’t think she can sell tickets and make them money.
That’s the Murdoch philosophy, don’t care what you say or who you sue as long as you can make the Murdoch’s money.
La-ti-da. Furious D, you’re right!
And this totally different to how every other studio in Hollywood works how exactly????? Nikki has said it herself when people were whining about Mel Gibson’s little tirade a few years back – Hollywood would work with Hitler if he brought in the bucks.
None of these asshole papers should be legally protected for HACKING into private messages – whichever mogul runs it. I’d like to see what Rupert would do if his private cell messages from his own wife e.g. was hacked and broadcast (take note Enquirer!).
“It means more to me to make a stand against that than it does anything else in my life.”
jeez louise, what a martyr.
This isn’t about her ability or lack of it. It’s about standing up for what’s right! She did the right thing and should be applauded and backed up by EVERYONE! STOP THE HATE!
Either there are some Fox employees on here or people have seriously misinterpreted the article. Who cares if Sienna Miller ever works for anyone ever again, not me. But what the hell does that have to do with the fact that a Fox owned and operated publication was partaking in illegal activities and invading people’s privacy. That is the point here, and if someone wants to stake a career on it than so be it. And if some director wants to cast Sienna in a summer tent pole Fox isn’t going to stop him unless they think they can land someone better/cheaper/younger… whatever. I would be seriously surprised if Murdoch is sitting in an evil lair deep in a Volcano crossing Sienna Miller of a list of “FOX approved cast”.
A slight correction: Fox doesn’t own any papers. News Corporation owns the papers & Fox.
But I’m sure that Fox, Fox TV & Fox News will manage to dump on her to protect their corporate cousins.

Whether they are A-list actors or extras on the Jersey Shore. Hacking into someone’s phone is illegal. If Murdoch was duplicit in this then he should have to pay up. It would be nice if someone spent time in jail, but when you have money and power of Murdoch that seems unlikely.
All the people bashing Coogan and Miller not for being bigger stars. Keep in mind… They don’t sit around blogging about you, because they have what you don’t… A F-ING LIFE!
Well stated.
Other than Factory Girl, every movie Sienna made in the U.S. was the cinematic equivalent of a botched backyard abortion. She’s better off, like so many European actresses, staying in Europe if she’s really interested in good roles. God knows America doesn’t provide them regularly.
Comparing her films to a “botched backyard abortion”? Really? What a tasteless and irresponsible thing to say. About ANYONE. Doesn’t anyone read things before they’re posted?
It’s sad she made such a mess of her personal life because on-screen she has one of the most charismatic presences I’ve ever seen. It’s in Factory Girl, Interview and she elevated Alfie whenever she was on. She has “IT” but has no idea what to do with it.
She was hot in GI Joe. That outfit. Slobber.
