The series premiere of E!’s After Lately last night drew almost 1.2 million viewers from 11-11:30PM, nearly doubling the previous four-week time period and year-ago delivery with both measures. The weekly mocumentary follows Chelsea Handler and her staff as they put together her nightly late-night show for E!. Also on Sunday, E!’s Kourtney & Kim Take New York at 10PM averaged 2 million viewers, followed by a new Holly’s World at 10:30PM logging 1.7 million, both up from their recent averages.

Still perplexed as to how Chelsea Handler has a show and just who finds her appealing. What is the demographic of her show?
I love Chelsea Lately and After Lately was great too. I would say she has a very strong fanbase. Don’t like, don’t watch has always been a helpful idea.
I’ve seen Chelsea Handler’s show recently and it’s nothing to write home about. She doesn’t say anything new, funny, or interesting. All she does is kiss butt and talk about how much she likes to booze it up and get nailed by dudes. Her “jokes” are bascially nasty, personal attacks against people for being famous, handicapped, and/or nonwhite. Obviously, there’s a market for Handler’s drunken, hoochie, mean-spirited, bigoted behavior. She’s survived so far because 1) she slept with her boss (she bragged about it in her routines) and 2) she doesn’t need huge ratings to survive at E! If she were on primetime, those numbers would get her canceled.
Uhhh….idiot she talks about people and makes fun of them because that is the point of the show…
Let me get this straight… The “point” of Chelsea Handler’s show is to say intolerant things about people and that’s acceptable/funny to you? Guess what, Jane? That makes you IGNORANT and STUPID.
Handler is a bad comedienne because her routine never changes: she’s either getting drunk, having sex, or going on some random, vicious, personal attack. To paraphrase one website, the upper limits of her talent are Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and Charlie Sheen are a mess jokes. Those topics are, you know, OVERDONE. She’s not talented enough to come up with new material and she doesn’t have anything good to say, which explains why she has to insult other people all the time. Besides, she’s how old now and she’s still talking about drinking and doing the nasty? That’s so PATHETIC…

After Lately was hilarious! I am super happy for Chelsea Handler and all of her success. I’ve been a fan of her since before she was famous.

I thought Chelsea Lately was already a mocumentary of the entertainment industry. I mean who really believes that this talentless chick would have 3 shows just by sleeping with the head of E. I assume this is all being filmed for a Juakeen Phoenix/Christopher Guest joint.

These kind of idiotic posts by fans like you, Alaina, are always amusing. If people don’t like your idol, then you resort to name calling. That’s typical of Chelsea Handler. Handler claims she can say whatever she wants about anything, but she goes berserk when people disagree with her. There are many reasons to dislike her. For example, she told an interviewer that she doesn’t like minorities, people who aren’t white. Her attitude of intolerance shows; look at how often she makes obnoxious racial comments. Making fun of someone purely because their skin color or ethnic heritage is different from your own makes you a bigot.

I love Chelsea and I am so happy she has another show. I don’t care what anyone says, she is brilliant. Also, she was successful before she started dating Ted. She met him at the wrap party for the signing of Chelsea Lately. I hope we see more and more of her!
i loved the show espically how all the staff were trying to suck up in one bit to go to cabo with her only to have Chealsa call their bluff. plus nice to see Chuy in other parts of the building then just his seat. on the lately set.
Just remember Jersey Shore is a hit on cable. Of course the trash that Handler does would also be a hit.

Chelsea is a self-described boozer, who’s also bragged & written about having sex with hundreds of guys. She also makes fun of everyone-especially sexual and racial minorities. Though she routinely kisses the asses of the rich and powerful.
Does ANYONE really need “After Lately’?
Chelsea is the female version of Charlie Sheen.
Substitute vodka for cocaine, guys for gals, and “After Lately” for “Sheen’s Korner”, and you’ve got Sheen-lite, Chelsea’s vodka fueled rantings that E! can’t get enough of.

People either love or don’t love Chelsea. I watch Chelsea Lately and it has its’ moments. So I tuned in to watch After, was hugely disappointed. They may have had great numbers for the first show. Will be interested to see exactly how many first time viewers return for a second helping. Like I said some love it, some don’t.
Um first of all cuz she’s hilarious and so is both of her shows. There’s really no point to it, it’s just funny.
