Deadline was first to tell you in January that despite Universal Pictures’ testing of young actresses, Twilight Saga’s Kristen Stewart had materialized as a likely candidate to play the lead role in the Rupert Sanders-directed Snow White and the Hunstman. Now, Palek Patel, who’s producing with Joe Roth, has tweeted that she’s in final negotiations to star with Charlize Theron and Viggo Mortensen in the rebooted fairy tale that’s going head to head with Relativity Media’s The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, which will star Julia Roberts. Gersh-repped Stewart will complete production on the final Twilight installment at the end of April, and will shoot Snow White in August.

I LOVE this story! I couldnt be more happy to see Kristen in such an iconic role. Of course there will be people that will have something bad to say, but the truth is she has been stuck in the Twilight franchise for far too long. She is very talented, hopefully now she has good material to work with!
Kristin Stewart has all the acting range of a stick. She has the deadest eyes I’ve ever seen. And no, I don’t hate her. I would have to care about her to hate her. She’s just awful.

Kristen Stewart is a good enough actress for this role. She may not be an Oscar winning category yet but people seem to forget that she is getting very positive critics’ reviews for her non-Twilight movies.

She’s played a rocker, a stripper and a wild child since she started the Twilight movies. It’ll be nice to see her in a studio film too.

Kristen is a solid actress, and will project an image of beauty and innocence for the character of Snow White.
Stewart is stunning. I’d die for that bone structure. And she’s got attitude to boot.
When you don’t know what a pretty bone structure is. Kristen looks very average. Only with a lot of makeup she can look pretty.

They couldn’t have chosen a better Snow White. Kristen has the subtlety and talent to pull this off. And with all of the Twilight fans she’ll bring, Julia Roberts better watch out!

If this is a success it won’t be down to her, she is wise to stick to genre though. She might get lucky and be in a box office hit outside of that vampire stuff.

Yeah, they did. The Runaways had planned to go wide but brutal “less than print cost” numbers in limited release killed any thoughts about that. Welcome To The Rileys was supposed to be a breakout indie hit and it also didn’t even get it’s print costs back. Heck, they might not have even got shipping costs back on that turkey.
This is one of the problems with Hollywood right now. The public has made it quite clear they don’t want to see Stewart, Pattinson, Franco, Channing Tatum or any of these these other kids they keep trying to ram down the public’s throats. Finding people that the public likes isn’t really that hard. You look at the BO receipts and you follow the money. It’s only when you listen to your obnoxious college buddy who now works at CAA or WME that you get in trouble. But who cares anyway, you’ll still get invites to the cool parties. It’s only the stockholders and the film public that take it in the shorts.

Snow White may just attract all the Twilight kids. The other movies Kristen has made are way too adult. I’m surprised she even wants to do Snow White. She seems like she hates attracting young girls!

Love this choice. Love watching an actress onscreen whose real life personality doesn’t revolve around reacting to the attention her beauty attracts. A smart (and beautiful) lady. Totally refreshing.

Alex Pettyfer has pretty much destroyed his career. He would have nothing to this film but a bad attitude. They can do better.
She is one of the best young actresses out there and has the longevity that most young actors do not. She’s interesting to watch to. Congrats to Kristen!
I love that Kristen takes a variety of different roles. Last year she was a drug taking real life rock star and a damaged stripper, this year she is Snow White. She will have an interesting career, for sure

Smart choice for her. Snow White is an iconic character and the surrounding cast is exceptional. This is the first fairytale movie that I’ve been excited to see.

Kristen has had plenty of chances to work with good material before and during the Twilight series. The same twitchy face and undercurrent of lethargy permeates her portrayals. She can’t act.
Love it. Love a strong female role, love the choice. Kristen will get to show what she’s got to mainstream audiences in something OTHER than You-Know-What.
Oh, and hey, honesty – Kristen definitely tends to pick roles that don’t exactly emphasize her beauty. Guarantee it won’t be a problem, once they enhance rather than hide.

R-rated movies don’t pull in the Twilight fan base. Credit should be given for her trying and succeeding in portraying edgy characters. Check out the critical consensus on her acting on Rotten tomatoes or wherever. If she wanted to only pull in the Twilight crowd, there are enough and more Young adult novels out there being remade. But she has the guts to try different things.

And I don’t know why people are talking about Julia Roberts and compairing her to Kristen. Julia will be portraying the evil queen in her version so shouldn’t people be compairing her to Charlize???
