For those who were left wondering how Saturday Night Live host Zach Galifianakis suddenly appeared sporting a Mr. T do in the closing scene from the show on Saturday, here is video of him getting his head shaved into the famous mohawk. “Thanks a lot everybody, unfortunately we did not get to the Mr. T sketch,” Galfianakis told the crowd at the end of the show. “A real bummer, if you ask me!” But judging from the Web video, complete with an appearance by SNL chief Lorne Michaels, the shaving seems like a pre-planned gag.
TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

Ya think??? Obviously he has a role coming up so thus the hair cut. Nothing like that is done without pre-planning and forethought.
You’re not actually questioning whether or not it was ‘pre-planned’ are you?
this episode was one of the funniest in a looong time. I attribute that to Zach G. he was awesome and fresh and made his appearance an event. the man takes his comedy seriously. thank you Zach!
Pre-planned? No s#!t sherlock.
Please turn SNL off…
Somebody.
Last time he hosted he shaved his beard before a skit and the video of him shaving went viral for some reason. So this time he shaved his head, it’s not about an upcoming role, it’s a callback to the previous gag.
I’m hoping that next time he hosts he shaves his neck.
Don’t know about you guys, but I think the joke was on him:
“Hey Zach let’s do this fun happening; we’ll shave your head mohawk-style during the show and then you’ll come up in this cool Mr.T sketch”
…. except there wasn’t supposed to be a Mr.T sketch, really
The only good SNL episodes of the year have been when they used actual comedians Dana Carvey and Zach.
Maybe have a few more comedians and a not so many reality stars SNL????
Has this guys career been built on beard, hair, weight?
Nice try but you can see the wig covering his right ear.
I concur. Sure looked like a modified bald cap to me.
Please somebody put this show outof it’s misery.
SNL is more than a show. It’s an institution; an establishment. It has provided us with so many talented actors and writers. Say what you will, but it would be a travesty to see SNL slip away. If you don’t like it, shut the crap up! I enjoy it every saturday!
yeh im waiting for the day they actually add a hispanic to the cast and im not talking about jennifer lopez appearances counting!
uh…add Asians to that list
what was Horatio Sanz, exactly? I think he would meet your Hispanic criterion. And Fred Armisen is partly Venezuelan.
So, yeah.
